IH Mobile home toter
TruckerAL replied to TruckerAL's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks for the info! I'll have to remember that. So the chrome transtar trim stays on the door, except for the very bottom strip of chrome where the steps are? -
Rat Fink IH4070A, my way

I agree. It's not what I expected, but it's different. When I saw it, I knew I had to go wild with it! -
This is my first W.I.P. post here so bear with me if I don't update it often, I might forget lol. But I just recently started on this build I've been wanting to try out for quite a few years, a mobile home toter. Got the frame cut to a single axle, and the interior shell/cab cut for the opening doors. Hinges should be here in about 2-3 weeks so I have plenty of time to work on the bed and other parts. Here's where I am with it as of tonight. Basic bed floor, and bed mounts are done! More to come

I absolutely love it! So many people are designing and printing 3d parts and I'm all for it. So cool. Keep it up! -

Thanks guys!! If I do ever get the trailer, it'll be just as wild! -
Striaght to the point, it's all in the details?! Rat Fink Transtar, box stock minus lots of paint details, super singles, new bumper, visor, and the scratchbuilt mudflap and tailight bar. I absolutely love it! The photos are in no particular order either

International Transtar 4300 Eagle
TruckerAL replied to raisin27's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Oldmopars is all correct. Great kit to do, but it does have it's challenges. I also noticed that the front axle needs to be narrowed, and moved forward slightly as well! -
Looks Good! I assembled one of these too right out of the box in my college dorm in 2020. Quick easy kit! Also the 2 bumper poles are called rookie poles?

Retro Transtar 4070A
TruckerAL replied to TruckerAL's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Thanks y'all! The stretch was tough, since I haven't done one in a while, but it compliments the rig well! -
You as well. Definitely a good guy^!

Yet another transtar completed. This is number 15 or so if I remember correctly lol! The list of modifications is as follows: frame stretched an inch, Moebius rims, front lug nut covers, hubodometer on rear axle, full length deckplate, sprue exhaust tips, and k100 aerodyne seats. Other than that it's pretty much box stock with some good detailing here and there. Enjoy!

This is a fantastic build. Gave me many ideas for future builds! Love it, great work? -
I love how this combo turned out! Looks like I need to get 1, or 5 of these trailers now! Great looking rig

ERTL Volvo N10
TruckerAL replied to PierreR89's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
I built one in my final semester of college about 1.5 years ago. Good simple kit! Only issue I had was the decals falling off after a few days. -

Sure that would work too! If you'd like me to send you close up pictures of mine, let me know ? -

Looks great! My solution for the hoses was test fitting first, making sure they were seated all the way down on the pins. Then take them off, apply super glue to the end of the hose, and reapply the hoses. -
Single axle Shaker

Thank you all! And leafsprings, I've never actually thought about doing that before. I'll have to remember it for my next build. Thanks for that! -
Single axle Shaker

Thank you again everyone! It has/had a few flaws, but thankfully I was able to cover them up the best I could! -
Awesome, that looks great. Looking forward to seeing that trailer behind it! I need to pick one of those trailers up one of these days!

Wrapped up this beauty tonight! Lots of odds and ends went into this one, list is as follows. International 4070a exhaust stack, styrene tip, scratchbuilt mudflap anti sail mounts, hub covers from clothing rivets, GMC Astro rear spokes/tires, horns, turn signals, and front radiator guard, rear tail light mount, eliminated the cab steps, new steps made, new front bumper. Decals from a few different kits, and some other little odds and ends. I'm happy with this one. Comments and critiques welcome!
