I dropped of this model at Kindigit Design in April while attending the GSL. The model was featured on "Bitchin' Rides" last night (Season 4-Episode 7). BITCHIN'!!!!

In my continued quest to build a bunch of race cars Curtis Turner drove...here is a model of his 1959 Ford Thunderbird. He drove this car in the NASCAR Grand National Series for owner Doc White, competing in 9 races, winning 2. Unable to find a 1/25 scale model of this car, I did find a beat up "Wheat's Nostalgia" promotional model on eBay for under $20.00. I cleaned up the body, removing the under-hood pins, cut the hood out and re-chromed the bumpers with Alclad. Used the chassis, engine and wheels from the Revell Ford Convertible kit. The windscreen and rear window were unusable, so vacuum formed a set from the originals. Scratch built the interior, adding a roll cage and a resin cast seat from the Revell 1958 Thunderbird Convertible. Paint is Humbrol White and decals are from "Slot Car Fever". Thanx for looking'...

Okay here we go...my buddy Raul Perez gave me an AMT 1965 Pontiac Bonneville on which he had customized the body. My plan was to finish building it for the upcoming West Coast Customs in Santa Maria in May. Luckily, Revell came out with Foose Custom Cadillac Eldorado. Bingo...I have a modern chassis and powerplant for the Bonneville. The wheel base was really close, didn't require any modifications, just had to add about 5/8" to the rear pan. Used the interior of the Cadillac, extending the rear deck and adding about 1/8" on both sides. Used the wheels and tires from the Cadillac. Paint is ModelMasters 2-Part Lacquer #28130 "Royal Blue Pearl". Here are a couple photos off the Cadillac chassis and interior. Here's the finished Bonneville, dang this is a big boat! Bought this kit when it first came out a few years back. Thought it was about time to build it...what a surprise! This is probably the best motorcycle plastic model kit ever produced! What a joy it was to build. I built it just straight out of the box, didn't use any of the aftermarket detail-up sets Tamiya offers. I was surprised on how small this bike is compared to other 1/12 scale bikes I have built. But, then again it is only a 250 cc engine with 6 cylinders. The diameter of the cylinders must be the size of Quarter! Thanx for looking'...

Started with the '27 Ford Track Nose resin kit from Jimmy Flintstone (NB175). Built it on top of the "Dropped Frame" from AMT's 1925 Model "T" kit. Engine is a Ford V-8 Flathead with Ardun Heads. Following engine parts are from Replicas and Miniatures of Maryland: FH-90 SCOT Blower; FH-62 Starter: DD-23 Custom Ardun Headers The Arterially wheels are from Revell's 1937 Ford Pickup, painted Tamiya TS-32 Haze Grey. The seat and floor pan are from Revell's '29 Model A Roadster. Custom gauges are from "Model Car Garage". The tires, headlights, tail lights, windscreen, steering wheel, Buick-finned Brakes and piston gear shift knob are from my parts box. Paint is Humbrol Aresol #18 Gloss Orange covered with a coat of Tamiya PS-58 Clear Pearl and finished with a couple coats of MM Ultra Gloss Clearcoat. thanx for looking'...

Just another model a friend had started, gave it to me and I finished it. Body was already painted, decals were shot...replaced with a set from "Pattos Place". Picked up the "Historic Racing" Ford V8 conversion kit from another one of my modeling buddies. This is a model of the Ford GT-40 which won the 1966 24 hours at Daytona Beach driven by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby. Thanx for looking'...

I built a model of this car about 20 years ago. The flairs were not that difficult, the hardest part was the full length front bumper. At that time models of the 1970 Camaro only had the split bumper. Good Luck
