I've always wanted to build a model of my dad's 1962 Ford F150. This is one of the vehicles I learned to drive with back in the mid 60's. I was finally acquired the very rare kit of this truck. I added the following to the model truck to make it look like dad's: a. bed rack b. enclosed tool boxes in bed c. western style mirrors d. rear bumper e. "necker nob" on steering wheel My brother Dan sent me a photo of dad's truck to help my fading memory. So here is the model paying tribute to my dad who passed in 2002 thanx for lookin'...

Bernard, un travail modèle très, très gentil excellente B) c'ya -
I kinda like the 4-banger, sumthin' different... actually a souped up 6-banger (shooter) would go nicely with Pancho Villa...

I am thoroughly impressed. Looks great, Curt. For curiosity's sake- did your dad actually have a vanity plate like that? Charlie Larkin No Charlie he didn't...I don't think California started the Vanity Plates until late in the 70's I took a little artistic license with the plates, but if dad had one...CHUCK would've been his choice!

All done moving...most boxes have been unpacked, ooffta! Got the hobby bench back up and made a little progress on my dad's truck: yes...my dad had a "necker-knob" on the steering wheel, i think it was clear yellow waiting from response from brothers and sisters working on the engine and rear bumper, not to far from completion thanx for lookin'

Just finished adding the side tool boxes dad designed and built. They ran down both sides of the bed with two locking hinged doors. He had a sliding tool drawer on both sides as well. This kept his tools locked and out of site. He also made sure a 4'X8' sheet of plywood could still lay flat in the bed. I failed to catch a picture of the box builds before I primed the truck... Just sold the house and will be moving...so may be awhile before I get back to the bench (new one)...heh! thanx for lookin' c'ya

Harry It is 1/16th scale and comes from the Chinese company "FUMAN". It's a re-pop of the old Bandai kit...only difference is the instructions are in Chinese instead of Japanese

After building the full-fendered 1913 Mercer Raceabout, loaded with all the creature comforts available...I wanted to build a fenderless racing version. After searching online, I found an article in the April 2009 issue of Hemmings Classic Car Magazine w/photos of Peter Helck's 1914 Mercer Raceabout. Although built to race, Peter Helck never did race this car. Could not see any difference between the 1913 and 1914 Mercer other than the exhaust manifold. I wasn't in the mood to fabricate a new one, so went with the manifold provided in the kit. Heres both versions: The 1914 Mercer Raceabout: Thanx for lookin'...

Hello again... Here be the AMT 62 Ford Pickup Truck kit: Parts from the kit to be used: Only problem encountered, was the front grill and bumpers were from a 1963 Ford Pickup and the chrome emblems on the side of the hood were missing Modelhaus to the rescue...ordered and received a bumper/grill, hood with side emblems, new glass(windscreen & rear window) and set of nice red tail-lights: Fellow modeler & friend Steve Allemand donated a 292 Y-Block engine from a 56 Ford Victoria he had laying around: now it's off to the workbench and start putting everything together thanx for lookin'
