  1. Excellent work Brendan... Gosh I may have to part with a few greenbacks now...thanx I have fond memories of these cars tearing up Laguna Seca lookin' forward to the next version your workin' on
  2. Thanx for all the compliments Raul...don't think I'm gonna part with this one nor the Troxel Top Fuelie for a long time just too much time and effort in them, plus I really like'em that doesn't happen a lot, usually when I finish a model - the love affair is o'er and it's time to move on to the next one c'ya
  3. Clay just hang in there...the car models aren't going anywhere as Raul states - enjoy the momemt, it goes fast... with two teenage daughters, one a cheerleader & the other horsey's and then there's the boys sniffin around - it's amazing I build as much as I do. working on getting a care package for you, xtra studebaker parts, etc c'ya
  4. Yes, Kragens, Checkers, etc...any autoparts store that sells paint Plastikote and Krylon are the major brands...Plasticote seems to be much more plastic friendly than Krylon, at least in my experience Tamiya's Primer paints (aerosal) work nicelty as well, just a bit pricier and harder to find,i.e. Local Hobby Shop or online Model Master has a primer for their lacquer paints also, never have tried though good luck
  5. Just picked up this kit at the LHS, was wondering just how many different versions I could find went surfin' and found these...most seem to be vintage racers, Monterey, etc. enjoy not a bad start, heh?
  6. Just posted this as my entry in the great dragster build off Competition Resins Body and engine parts, Slixx Decals (carbon fiber color is too light), Revell Top Fuel engine and it all started with the Revell "Mad Magazine" Funnycar... Thanx for looking...
  7. DONE... Here's my one and only entry... Ron Capps Dodge Funnycar from 2005 Competition Resins Body and engine parts, Slixx Decals (carbon fiber color is too light), Revell Top Fuel engine and it all started with the Revell "Mad Magazine" Funnycar... Have fun guys...now onto the Testarossa!!!!
  8. Great tips...I've got an old #5 that must be a #10 by now When I've completed an airbrush session, I remove the needle, nozzle and tip, clean thouroughly with appropiate thinner, rub the needle with just a wee bit of vaseline and reassemble lightly (do not tighten anything til next session) be careful when the needle is not in the brush...the inards (spring & valve) can pop out - easy to put back in place play around with different settings/air pressure/distance, etc...nothing can replace experience - the more you play, the better you get! have fun c'ya on the 20th
  9. Well Clay... heres my start, this has been a project on the shelf for a long time...a Studebaker Salt Flat Racer Jimmie Flintsones resin body, AMT '53 Starliner model, Parts Pak Chevy 283 with potvin blower and some nice spun wheel discs from Parts by Parks...

  13. Clay, I've got the Flintstone salt race body that I plan on building, so i'd better get started on it I'll post pix of it as i start My dad was a Studebaker guy our last one was a '63 wagon with a sliding roof...used to drivre to high school football games with people standing in the back!! before seatbelts, etc

  15. Thanx Guyz the stacks i got from Hobbylink Japan...can't remember which company makes them, but they have quite a few in different lenths and diameters.
  16. If you have not already...try Benetton's or Renault's website, they should have a link to F1 on their site You will probably be limited as far as decal choices out there can always explore making your own...can be done! F1 has always been my favorite, it's what got me building models... I'm sure todays F1 race cars present a real problem for model kit manufacturers and builders alike, can you imagine the amount of photoetch needed to build a new BMW in 43rd scale - oooftah!! good luck on your search....
