Moebius 1970 F-350 Ramp Truck
happy grumpy replied to thatz4u's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Beautiful build Al. Did you have warpage issues with your kit ? A lot of people have reported that problem when it came out. I hope moebius fixed this. Your model looks straight and square. -

To seal...or not to seal?
happy grumpy replied to Pierre Rivard's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I too, clear over decals but the process I use takes time but the results are good. on a glossy finish, I wait at least a week for the decals to set. Then I apply a really thin coat of clear (TS13 in my case), wait 1 hour apply another mist coat, 30 min another mist coat. I let that set for a couple of days, probably wouldn't need too but I prefer stay on the safe side. Then I build successively thicker coats until the decal is completely covered. Depending on the finish I want sometimes I polish with Tamiya compound finish or Novus. Always had good results with this method but as everything else in life, go with what works best for you. That's what I did on the Camaro below. -

Thanks David Thanks Bob. Thanks Rex. I agree, if they were to do a remake of Bullitt, they would have the cars jump 300 feet in the air. There were rumors in 2008 that there would be a remake but it did not happen, I'm glad it didn't. Thanks Bill Thanks Anders Thanks John. Looking forward to see your challenger. Thanks Dan.Same here, never cared much for the remake. Thanks Ray. As have you, I always enjoy your builds. Thanks Harry, appreciated. Thanks Phillip Thanks Carl.

Built from the old MPC kit. While we are waiting for the new Revell kit. Not meant to be an exact replica, I did not have a flat hood. The only thing changed was the wheels and tires. I machined the wheels from aluminum. Not the best kit but it will do while we wait for Revell to issue theirs. I remember reading somewhere that the paint was , according to Halecki in an interview, school bus yellow because that's what they had on hand. So I painted camel yellow over grey primer to tone it down a bit to give it that screen shot look. When you watch the movie on a tv screen , the car appear to be a mix of yellow and butterscotch, at least that's what it looks like on my 16 years old LCD TV. thanks for having a look.
