Great looking Chevy. The color combo look really good. For the windshield , you could try Tamiya smoke spray, the number of coats will determined the darkness you want to achieve. You could also go with the same paint but the acrylic bottle, if you have an airbrush. I remember in the past, I had a leftover piece of tint windows film. I applied it over a wet coat of future wax from the inside, I had good results. As with the real thing, you remove the bubbles before the liquid wax sets. Do some test on any clear plastic to decide what works best for you.

That's a cool looking rod Ken, and that paint job is awesome.

Thanks Carl, the mold for the body must be super polished to achieve this glossy finish.

Fantastic on all counts. The 911 is IMO the best looking Porsche. Your model does it justice. All those details are a joy to look at. Thanks for sharing. -
Thanks guys. These snappers can be a lot of fun. A nice break from complex kits and stalled projects.

Nice and clean build with a very well detailed engine bay. I like the color choice.

Beautiful trio. nicely detailed and the 65 interior is gorgeous. the 50's had their tri-5 and the sixties had their tri-six?

I never tire of looking at this iconic movie car, this was the perfect choice for an evil car. Really nice build, the blacked out windows makes it even more evil.

A sure beautiful build. Dust is a pain sometimes, remember, dust doesn't scale down so on models it is 25 times bigger. I too sometimes forget to dust the model before a photoshoot. One thing I do to mitigate this is to take a wet cloth with some dishwasher soap diluted with warm water it picks up the dust quite nicely. Dusty or not, your Chevy looks really cool and those details in the engine bay add a lot of realism.

Thanks Harry. I build in an assembly line kind of way. I prep bodies, I always have at least three models at different building stages. So I can sometimes finish 3 models in a short time but these were started a while ago. I would guess maybe 2 to 3 models a month. I split my time between work, (not retired yet), repairing computers and models. I am alone now so I have all my free time for myself. With all that's happening in the world, I find this free time, all by myself, in the relative safety at home, a blessing and very precious. cheers.

Thanks Steve . Yep, no paint on this one, no clear, the plastic is super shinny. Thanks Greg. your model looks nice. I built mine straight out of the box. I did not do any research on it but thanks for the info.

A very quick build, the body is molded in a very nice shiny grey metallic, so nice that I left it as is, I only put on the decals, painted the interior and voila, a few hours and a really nice looking cruiser. If you want to draw people in the hobby, this is a perfect kit for it, ideal for a beginner. thanks for looking.

A great looking car, great job on the details. The first photo is very convincing. I wish Revell would revive those old monogram kits of this series.

Great looking model. As for Tamiya paint, I've been using them for over 10 years and before that I was using mostly their acrylics. as others have said, what works best is a lot of small things. The most important step however is to wash all the parts before doing any painting, even a fingerprint might ruin an otherwise nice paint job Heating the can is a good way to start, it sprays thinner and the paint settles better, second , shake, shake , shake especially if it's a metallic color. Some plastics react with paint, so a good primer will guarantee a good base. start with 2 or 3 mist coat , don't worry it will not be shinny, apply 2 or 3 wet coats, for that , a strong light is you friend , you will see the paint leveling off. The last step that really works for me, be patient to apply the clear, I have found that if you hurry to clear , say 3 hours, the clear will eventually dig in the paint and it will slowly loose it's shine. Personally I wait at least a week before I put a first mist coat, then I build up successive coats, the last 2 coats are heavy wet coats. Different people will use different methods, this method works well for me. What I like about Tamiya is that they're easy to use but like any other product, there is a learning curve. Hope this helps.

An interesting idea. Turned out pretty good. The rear hatch fits naturally with the model. Nice job Jim.
