  1. I'm going to guess that's not from a kit. What's on the backside? I don't recall any kits with Hoosier tires, and the "Stumpy" looks like a generic font from Microsoft Word or similar.
  2. The quarter window openings needed to be reshaped and the lower edge raised, so I welded in a styrene strip on both sides of the cab, then started refining the openings. The driver's side look very close, but I think the top edge on the passenger's side is a bit too high, so I need to add a filler strip and reshape the entire opening in a few areas.
  3. A '69 is all I've heard of: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=60766&hl=javelin
  4. Nah, we'll stick with blue, and pending Ron's vote, it looks like the darker medium blue in Jeff's pic is the winner.
  5. I added a few details to the floorpan under the cab, including two additional mounts removed from the second chassis: I also started extending the rear inner quarter panel pieces, again using sections of the second kit's panels for the extension. I'm planning to sand the extended areas flat, then add the jump seat detail once the panels are one solid piece: Lastly, I did a bit more work on the left leaf spring and shackles, scribing a separation line between the spring eye and the shackles, rounding their edges a bit, and basically making them look a little less like one molded piece. I will add two miniature bolts to retain the leaf spring to the shackles and the shackles to the frame rail.:
  6. Yes, when there's a pre-existing topic of the same subject.
  7. That seems to be the most difficult paint to remove, so I don't think I've heard of any best stripper for removing it.
  8. The poll isn't going to work to decide the final blue color, so please just post your choice in a reply. I vote for (what I'm going to refer to as) light blue.
  9. We can decide between light, medium, and grabber blue, (or another blue) based on the three colors Jeff, Ron, and I posted pictures of, so let us know which blue you prefer. I like those interiors a lot, Jeff. Once we finalize the exterior color, we'll decide on or if we want to use exterior stripes, and we'll decide the interior color.
  10. They'll most likely have their 2014 announcements on their facebook page, as well as a YouTube video showing the releases, just like they did for their Fall 2013 announcements.
  11. Nothing yet, neither aftermarket nor in kit form.
  12. I prefer white interiors, and if we decide to use the (mostly) white laser stripe, I think it'd look great with a blue exterior paint color.
  13. Welcome aboard, Justin. I think you'll find a lot of knowledge here, and hopefully share some of yours as well.
  14. I've seen it, but it has about half as many vertical bars in the grille as it should and the area outboard of the headlight buckets is wrong, too:
  15. I would suggest you start with something similar to these two, at least if you are interested in "building" an engine and not too concerned with how the internals work:
  16. Making the grill itself has probably caused many people to give up: You'd almost have to have that part done as a photoetched piece. Model Car Garage doesn't make a '67 grille, though. I would start with the resin Dart Sedan body, Rick, if I you decided to forge ahead.
  17. That'd be fine, too, Fred.
  18. 40mpg highway? That's sooooooo 1975!
  19. Not yet. If nobody wants to join in, I can always take care of that step, or if Andrew wants to keep the kit and handle the chassis/suspension, etc., that'd be fine, too.
  20. I think we'll have whoever does the chassis/suspension work mate the exhaust to the headers once the engine and headers are installed. I'm guessing the headpipes need to be modified to connect to the headers, and we may go with a slightly non-stock exhaust system anyway, so I think we should wait until the engine is installed to address the exhaust system.
  21. No, just the new box art it looks like. Never say never, but I don't think there will be anything different than what was mentioned in the specific topic discussing that kit.
  22. Make (or at least lace) your own: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77554&hl=%2Bpe+%2Bwire+%2Bwheels http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6659&hl=%2Bwire+%2Bwheels
  23. Sounds like blue is the winning exterior color, but I see a few different hues of blue being liked, so we should probably each post a single pic of the specific blue we like best and make a final color decision. My vote is for this light metallic blue color and the white/blue laser stripe, as pictured: Either way, at least Jeff can eliminate a red interior now.
  24. I'm not making any major changes, just (what I consider) minor improvements and eliminating some of the simplifications, like the molded in engine compartment details. I actually want to finish this. I got the inner fender well holes plugged, and ended up using the front third of the driver's side inner fender to patch in the non-existent front third on the passenger's side. Rotated 90 degrees, it was a decent fit, so some sanding and filling will be necessary, but it saved me a bunch of complex work in a tight area. I still need to add a patch piece or two at the forward bottom edge, though: I also extended the rear frame rails .252" using the rear section of chassis #2, so the new and existing frame section were joined with a simple butt joint, reinforced using some rectangular styrene rod inside the frame rail pockets. Plastic welder to the rescue yet again:
  25. The recently released Revell '57 Ford Fireball Roberts kit incldues a McCulloch style centrifugal supercharger, though it doesn't seem to be as nicely detailed as the AMT '57 Ford unit which was suggested above: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=77341&p=979231 You can get a peek at the AMT '57 Ford s/c's case in this video: http://youtu.be/-nxG45trcXs?t=8m4s
