The early '60s GM senior compacts (Tempest, F-85, etc.) have 112" wheelbases, so one option would be the 1968-1972 GM A-body 2 doors-- Chevelle, Cutlass, GTO, etc.-- which all have 112" wheelbases. The Revell '72 Olds Cutlass kit would be a great place to start, or the MPC/AMT '69 Hurst/Olds kit would work, too.

It was probably easier to fit it in among the other parts now (even though it can't be used yet), and probably cheaper than adding it later when a supercharged version can be built from the kit's parts. Think of it as styrene foreshadowing.

HARD FUEL LINES
Casey replied to charlie@mrtractorsales.com's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
A few aftermarket companies make everything for the fuel lines on race cars- braided line, fittings, and the hard lines. I have used Detail Master with great results, and would recommend their products: http://www.detailmaster.com/ -

Agreed.

I think this kit(?) is a curbside model when built, is it not?
-
Thank goodness for that. I gave the Badman kit a go the last time it was re-issued, and didn't enjoy it at all. The parts fit is not very good in some places and as mentioned numerous times, it's not the most accurate kit...but that's also part of its appeal. I disagree that this kit is for kids, however. This kit seems squarely aimed at the 35+ year old who built this kit as a kid (and probably not very well) and wants to give it another try as an adult. This fits the pattern of every Tom Daniel designed kit Revell has re-issued in the last twenty years, and they keep selling. Sometimes appealing to the eight year old inside of us is enough to make the sale.

94 S-10 Ext. Cab
Casey replied to JamesW's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Love the x-cab 2GN S-10s, and the color looks good on this body style. Now, about those wheels, James... -
I recently saw the (ex-AMT) Lindberg '34 Ford pickup on the shelf, but that was it. I saw the old school modified kits has just hit the market, but they were released under the Dirt Track Racing(?)/DTR, Inc., which I am assuming is similar to what Model King and Revell have been doing.

model kits in unexpected places

The automatic bump post-merge is a bit wonky right now, so the smiley worked. -
Wood Grain Decals " Woody " specially
Casey replied to plastiktruck's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Not sure if anyone has tried these woodgrain decals from Ultracal which Gerry mentioned in his 2011 iHobby report, but they look like they might be worth a try: -
We haven't heard a peep out of Lindberg models for over two years, and I think the Dodge Charger Police Cars were the last new kits (maybe modified reissue would be more accurate?) they released in 2010. They didn't attend the 2012 iHobby show, and I don't think anything they announced at iHobby 2011 has seen the light of day, at least going by what Gerry reported on: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=49241&hl=ihobby Their website's newsletter signup link is broken, and they haven't updated anything on their site for at least two years...not a good sign. Anybody have any inside info as to what going on in Toledo? Steve Goldman, maybe?

No, just Googled based on your pic. I always use the "[img}........" tag for posting images to forums, and have never had a problem, so that's what I would suggest doing.
-
Seems to be working fine? ^^^ Which file extension (.jpg, .gif, etc.) is at the end of the link? I usually only use the image link icon when I copy an image off the web and don't want to upload it to my PB album, but 99% of the time I grab a .jpg image.
-
I posted a PB album image link (using the copy and paste method, not using the green tree/link icon) an hour ago with no problems. I did notice some forum tweaks/changes, especially how quoted replies now appear...and no more SQL errors or whatever those were.

Studebaker Community Build...with a Meet & Greet in South Bend, IN?
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Community Builds
I updated a few things in post #1, and most importantly, there is now a final completion date-- Labor Day, Monday September 2nd, 2013...so don't slack off 'til June and have to cram to get your build finished. Second, I would like to try to do the meet and greet In either September or October of 2013. Any input on this is welcomed, especially by those in the South Bend area, to make sure there aren't any major events in the area at the same time. And last but not least, there will now be three prizes awarded. Get building. -
How to build the Druid Princess?
Casey replied to JollySipper's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I don't know how accurate you wan the model to be, but the scroll work (which was wood on the 1:1 IIRC) will probably be the most difficult part to replicate. I would suggest looking at Victorian era dollhouse stuff, but then you may have to change to a scale other than 1/25...not sure which scale you plan to build it in, though. I could see it in 1/20 scale, and the MPC Popcorn Wagon kit could supply the Cragar S/S wheels and some less fancy scrollwork, too:
