I think the Monogram '71 Satellite's single 4-bbl might be as close as you'll come in kit form. Here's one I modified slightly:
-
It looks like these two parts, visible in the iHobby 2011 pics, are no longer included in the kit? One appears to be an anti-sway bar and the other a round...custom air cleaner, maybe?: I assume the hardtop's rear and side glass piece (blue arrow) is not included, either?
-
Agreed on the Hurst "H". It's the lettering on the rear quarter panels which may prove to be difficult to find/replicate.

Stacey David's Rat Roaster by : REVELL
Casey replied to Greg Myers's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I haven't seen any other images of this built up kit showing the custom guitar, but it's not the same as the guitar found in the Revell Dodge Magnum: http://www2.gibson.c...avid-es335.aspx -
MCG Seat Belt Material
Casey replied to 250 Testa Rossa's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Sorry, I can't help with MCG's seat belt material (maybe try contacting them and asking if there's a trick to it?), but if you decided to try something else, here are some options: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=33149&st=0&p=333183&hl=+seat%20+belt%20+material&#entry333183 -

Other than the too black panel lines, it's beautiful. As Mark said, a very clean build. I assume this is a curbside model?
-
Would those of who will not to buy this kit because of the lack of a top in this version buy the kit if the next version includes only a hard top, and not a soft top?
-
Stop it. We haven't see the mold seams on the body shell yet. It looks like the characters inside the bomb are "270 h.p."?
-
It looks like it may be a tad too far forward, but I think the stock location was further out, too:
-
They are very, very nice, and make all previous Polyglas GT tires obsolete. I would agree that Round2 would do well to offer an eight tire set (the number found in both the Firestone whitewalls and M&H slicks parts packs), with one set of each "new" Polyglas GT tire size, and priced at $9.50 or so, much like the Firestones. I would imagine these tires would look fantastic on the forthcoming Revell '70 Hemi 'Cuda kit, too. Steal some of Revell's thunder, Round2!

As in 1:26 or 1:27 scale, like some Maisto(?) die cast models? -
Parts kits - what's your favorite?
Casey replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Me, too, but every kit is a potential parts donor source, and we all have different opinions of which parts are "good" and which are not. I think a new forum section or sub-section for a scale parts index would be a good idea, especially if pictures of the specific parts were posted, too. I'm not sure it would be helpful just to name a kit without naming the specific parts (i.e. the Hampton blower in the Monogram Vandal, the Cragar S/S wheels in the Revell '37 Ford Coupe, and so on), though, and I'm not sure where such a section would belong, or if it would even be deemed necessary, as there's a potential for a lot of overlap with the Q&A section. Maybe we should conduct a poll? -
What happened to the "members photos" thread?
Casey replied to Ben's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Neither. It's right here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=55108 -
Studebaker Community Build...with a Meet & Greet in South Bend, IN?
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Community Builds
The more untoward the better. I finally got around to sanding the filler I added to the underside of the body shell, and it will need another skim coat to make everything look smooth and even, but it's progress. I assembled the turbine engine halves and sanded the seams a few weeks ago, after deciding to just stick with the kit engine: -
Diomond in the rough? Found this at a show today
Casey replied to Austin T's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Me neither, and a bit smaller when I click on them. I think it was R&R Vacuum Craft who made this resin kit. I recall R&R did kits of Roth's ill-fated Rotar and Barris' X-Pac "air" cars, too. -
Source for 1/16 scale tires
Casey replied to sflam123's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The Revell 1/16 tires did not hold up well for whatever reason, so you're not alone in having this problem. It looks like Competition Resins only offers copies of the 1/16 Aurora M&H rear slicks (which I think are far better than the Revell Goodyear/Firestone tires anyway): http://www.compresins.com/site/751597/product/CRT-508 I don't see any Funny Car style front tires listed, but you could ask them. Flashpoint Motorsports offers some tires which are similar to the Revell F/C front tires, though: http://ecsvr.com/fpm/ShopExd.asp?id=20 -
Uploading isn't working for me
Casey replied to skysoldier46's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What is the file extension (.jpg, .gif, etc.) of the image you're trying to upload? Also, what is the image size? If it's too large of a file, the arrow will keep rotating forever and the file will never upload, so double check the file/image size. -
One thing I never understood from a design standpoint- why does the bumper stand so far away from the body, necessitating that huge splash pan to cover the gap?
-
Fixed.

Dodge and Plymouth concept cars?
Casey replied to dimebolt's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Steve Juliano? I hope he's doing better. -
If you are using an engine and it's related parts from a kit, then installing it without any major modification to the engine, it would be far easier and cost effective to simply purchase a donor Viper or Ferrari kit from which you can pirate the engine. Viper kits are a dime a dozen, cheap, and you'll spend $60+ just for the casting materials.

I'm not making excuses for Revell if the nose seam issue is due to a lack of quality control issue, which, looking back at Erik's pics in post #126, it appears to be. As I said, I'd be interested to see or hear (Mike?) if other kits produced at a later date than Erik or Craig's (and I think this is where the laser date thing might come in handy) have the same body mold misalignment issue or not. Have any of you with "bad" bodies contacted Revell and let them know the body quality is sub-standard? It's a Skill Level 3 kit, and while that doesn't excuse mold misalignment, it does provide a heads up to the potential buyer regarding the degree of difficulty involved with building the kit.
