Allowed photo file extensions ?
Casey replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Ok, so you're copying and pasting the image link directly into the reply box, correct? If the the image is already hosted somewhere on the web, copy the url (www.pictureiwannacopy/billspage/pictures.jpg or similar), then click the little green tree inside a square icon in the bottom row of the grey-blue header bar, above the reply box. When you hover the cursor over it, it will display "image". Click on it, and a new window will open up and allow you to paste the url of the image into the blank space. Click "OK" once it's pasted, and place your cursor in the body if the message/reply box where you want the image to appear. I don't know if there's a specific list stating which extensions are allowed, but I've haven't had any issues with .jpg or .gif files, either using the method described above or via the attachment feature, but not all images can be copied and pasted. I know I have had issues with the .jpg images files on Tower Hobbies 'site (and it has happened with a few other site's images), and I don't know the correct web-speak term, but I think the images are protected somehow to prevent re-linking(?). Basically, you can't take their image file and re-post it elsewhere. If the images are on your hard drive, I would suggest using the Attachment feature to upload them. -

You are using the attachment feature, correct? In which specific section of the forum have you had this problem? -

Which file extension is it? -
The 1/43 kit is nice, despite its small size and low parts count. The JoHan AMX is like most other JoHan kits- very nice body, with a promo-like tub interior (with seats molded in), solid metal axles, and molded in suspension and exhaust detail.

There a good list and images of the '69 AMC AMX kits here: http://www.javelinamx.com/javhome/toys/models/index.htm

There is plenty of value in critiquing this Revell '62 Vette Roadster, and if those comments help give us better models in the future, even better. Everyone has an opinion on how good the kit is (or how bad), what it needs to make it better, why they will or won't be buying it, and so on, and that's one reason we come here- to discuss model kits, but let's keep this topic about the model, please.

He's no longer a member here, Niko. You might try PMing member whale92 (Brad) or Roadkill2525 (Mike) and see if he can put you in touch with Dave.

That's one lift kit that was definitely worth the money. -
I saw it on the Weather Channel's live coverage, too. Who new some areas of WV would need snow shovels in October? I'm jealous!

What does the flange in the upper left corner of the octagonal chrome sprue have cast into it? -
Order back issues from the Denver office: 303.296.1600, they are $10, postage paid, for each issue. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/category/back-issues/

There is definitely something different about Testors' Flat Black spray paint. I haven't used it in many years, but it always sprayed so well out of the can, far better than their color enamels in spray cans.

I wonder how much of a factor the depth of the coves on either side of the grille opening were when it came time to design the "nose" section of the body mold. I (remembering that I have never designed such a mold in my life) would've though the front edge, where the headlight trim rings meet the fenders, would be a better mold section mating point, but maybe that makes things even harder to align? No matter. The kit's custom wheel are gorgeous, so I'm 100% satisfied.

Revell Germany Ferrari SA Aperta & 599 GTO
Casey replied to Luc Janssens's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Interesting that the sprues/parts are all pictured on the box top...no excuses when you buy one of these. -
The BHE is probably not the best parts donor kit to be honest. Maybe the Moebius '55 Chrysler would be a better source, depending upon which specific trans you are looking for? There doesn't seem to be a consensus regarding the engine's displacement, but it's definitely an early Hemi, with the "Chrysler Firepower" valve covers on it. Those (and the front wheels) were the best parts in the kit IMHO.

My brain can't seem to keep the two of them apart, even though I remembered to Google the correct one. Fixed above. -
1/25 Revell '90 Mustang LX 5.0 2'n1 Special Edition
Casey replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I don't think any Revell nor MPC Fox Mustang kits included the Pony wheels, did they? Was (were) the 1/24 Monogram kit(s) the only kit(s) to include them? I'm pretty sure the Monogram kit's wheels fit the Goodyear Eagle VR50 tires, which IIRC are supposed to be 16" diameter, but I've never measured one to see how accurate it is. -
Those of you who appreciate Harry Bradley's work owe it to yourselves to take a few hours (I'm not kidding) to check out Parts 1 & 2 of the HBB articles over at Dean's Garage: http://deansgarage.c...adley-part-one/ http://deansgarage.c...bradley-part-2/ He's done some incredible work, and it's amazing how fresh many of his designs still look. There are literally hundreds of images, sketches, magazine articles and excerpts to view and read, but like I said, make sure you set a fair amount of time aside.
