I remember going shopping for my first new car in 1983, and falling in love with an RX-7 in the showroom. I recall the price tag was $13,700, and thinking how crazy expensive that was I wound up buying a new Nissan Sentra for half the price, and while it turned out to be a great car - - - lo these many years later we can see the RX-7 is still a beloved classic, while nary a soul makes a model of the Nissan Sentra! I built this RX-7 easily 20 years ago, so I don't recall the particulars, but I can say it was a good quality kit.

While I'm waiting for putty to dry on a build, I thought I'd share a few of my old builds, one of which is a tribute to my 1985 Trans Am from the disco era This is easily a 20 year old build, so I don't recall specifics, but the color scheme was pretty much exactly the way my car was. Ah, those halcyon days!

Thank you much Dann

Brian, I love everything about your build! GREAT job and thanks for posting

Gorgeous model of a quintessential 80's icon! And I agree with the comments about your photography - just awesome! Now all you need is a 1:24 scale Barbara Bach to stand next to it

Thank you for the kind words Bob, and I agree it would have been great to see them as production cars!

Absolute beauty Michael, and I agree with everything you stated; fantastic car, fantastic kit, great color choices, and wonderful photographs. I too struggle with my photos, and so far seem to have the best luck with outdoor shots on cloudy days using my cell phone as opposed to DSLR (the phone just seems to have the best software for rendering colors and lighting). Great job, and happy Memorial Day!

Totally beautiful Brian

Great build Mike, and a wonderful trip down memory lane for me - I had a buddy that bought one in '73 and still has it. The only thing different about his and yours is that he had a pistol grip shifter (I don't know if it came new that way, or if he changed it).

Man Joe, that car not only looks awesome, but it also looks delicious like an orange creamsicle! I love the colors

Excellent build Zack, I'm particularly digging the engine compartment and those great looking rims! Did they come with the kit?

Quite possibly the most elegant car ever made Louis, and wonderfully executed by you as always!

It's such a cool car Michelle, I love the stance. You're also cool for all the new tech you incorporate into your builds, such as 3D printing. I wish I had the nerve to try learning these new things. BTW, sometime you've got to take a picture of your whole collection and share it with us. You must have a 100 cars by now!

Beautiful build John, and especially nice job on the decals and BMF. Thank you for posting, and Happy Memorial Day.

Totally kool! Love the metallic flake green vibe that "Lime Ice" gives it.

Doggone it, that's fantastic! What paint did you use for the main body?

I never realized how sexy the lines were on the Jiotto Caspita until I saw your excellent rendition. I love the color, stance, and rim choice as well.

Fantastic Aymer, you achieved a great level of realism with your build. -
Fantastic job Tim! I think there is a law of physics that says at least one tire will always get sucked onto the windshield of any unbuilt kit

Bad to the bone! Great work Oscar

Fantastic build and photos Steven! Those colors are gorgeous on the one-year Impala. I think I'll head on over to my favorite shop and see if I can get me one of those kits
