Round2 to release Mack B-61 semi kit.
Gary Chastain replied to maxwell48098's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I’ll take two please, curious about new Mack model truck pricing and if they will mold the Mack in the US. -

Yes sir, knew you had that and I may pick your brain as I build one. Need to finish that build one of these days. -

My vision for this build is not an oil field rig as most C500 serve but as an extra heavy duty, heavy haul truck pulling a 3axle lowboy with a 3 axle Jeep with a 2 axle stinger. I have wanted to scratch build this trailer for some time but wanted the perfect truck connected to it. So this is where I am going. I actually have blueprints for this trailer/jeep and stinger. Now waiting on parts from Canada, not sure how long that will take, so back to the KW 925 to finish up. -

Need some help, way out of my knowledge zone on this build. I am thinking about a winch for behind the sleeper with a cabinet style headache rack and I think there is a winch under the front bumper on this truck . I can rebuild 8,000 or 10,000 lb winches on my Jeeps. Know nothing about these really big winches. Looking at 3D Concepts site but no idea what winch for the back behind sleeper or under the front bumper. Need some help. -

That’s way more detailed, that would be really nice to have, wish I knew how to print or owned a printer. Thanks for that. -

Do I foresee a build in your future?, Twin steer? Monster wrecker? -

Share the same thought Ron, but I have been thinking about this. The hood, I am gonna try to cut the grill out ( where the screen is) add back the five bars and put a real grill screen in , remove the headlights, use a set of T600 headlights, but yes too thick. Cab, I am going to see what it takes to put an interior tub inside the cab. The sleeper is hollow, no floor, again steal some stuff from the T600 kit for sleep interior. We will see where this goes. -

I really want to duplicate the inspiration truck, so today I purchased the C500 from Global with the small sleeper, I’ll save the other cabs for a rainy day or a replacement for an oops. I did notice some updated changes to the one I purchased, a plus. also going with the Eaton Fuller 18 speed transmission. -

I have heard about the variable post strike, and it’s no issue, we can send em some day. -

Thanks Ron, I break rules all the time but this build has really intrigued me, I generally don’t try to replicate a truck, I am more free form custom. -

Thanks Bren, I am hoping to use the wipers you printed for me on this build if we can ever ship anything from Canada to US again. Many of the parts I ordered are coming from Canada, and we will see what happens. -

I still don’t know what transmission to use yet, that’s next. I have purchased a few things from A&N, super quality stuff, but never gave them a thought. I just remember it took five weeks to get my order. I will give them a look again. -
