No problem! If the quality is sufficient enough for you I could print them myself and send you the parts! Just for the case you don't find elsewhere what you need! Don't want to be intrusive, Just trying to help! -

Hey Gary, If you have pictures and measures I might be able to help you out with a "home made" version! You'd need someone to print it for you though. I could send you the .stl file when the drawings is completed. First you'd get a screenshot of the drawing of course so you can judge it's correctness! It's just an offer! -

I think it's worth it! Yes, IT IS expensive but when I look at my Pete day cab I'm very satisfied! -
1984 GMC General “Autumn Almond”
Jürgen M. replied to Pete68's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice color combo! I actually think the General is one of few trucks that really look good no matter what color they are! That's my personal opinion though. It might be because of the tough design! Anyway, it looks great and I can't wait to see what happens next! -

Wow, things you don't think of before they happen! I liked the short stacks too, but in this case I prefer long ones! -

The pipes are ready for chrome! Unfortunately my chrome spray is empty! Have to order a new one! I'll need it for the tanks of the truck and trailer and maybe for the rims unless I decided to paint them in blue like the truck! -

I changed my mind about the rims! I'll use self made 5-hole rims with oval holes on the outside couse the gap between the "twins" would be too big with the AMT rims! This is a pic of the same rims, I used them on the belly dump of my K123 Convoy truck. Brake drums Inside wheels with hubs! Tank needs to be sanded and primered. Pipes will be longer! I snapped off the other ones. They we're shortened to fit underneath the camper box. Not neccessary anymore! -

These will be the chosen ones! The inner rims are my "standard" printed rims including hubs, the outside rims are the classic AMT chromed rims. Tires are the soft rubber Revell ones from kits like the Black Magic PB. I order those directly from Revell, which belongs to Carrera now and moved to Austria! Got 30 pcs of them a while ago. Will need them for the trailer! Of course not all of them but 12 + 2 for the spares! -

I decided to use different rims! I snapped off the plastic axles, drilled holes and cut 2mm brass rods to length! -

Yes, I probably will. But as I said, first the show case needs to be built. Otherwise no more space! The Pete already had a parking space on the shelf. ? The trailer hast to wait! Sorry! -
Good job with the rig! Looks very realistic! ?

Oh my God! Doesn't sound funny at all! Hope he didn't get hurt? Was that a common problem of those trucks?

Here's some pics of the new parts for the Pete! The sleeper. The fit of the roof hast to be improved! There are still rests of support structure material in between. I printed the roof with sort of a collar to make it slip onto the sleeper walls. When that's gone it'll fit! These are the sleeper parts. And this is the tank in printing progress: Also here the support structures need to be tanken off. The ends will be next. -

I agree with Jeff! That is looking so good! Glad the tach-o-graphs came out well. Designing such small parts is a bit odd since you can't put much detail in them even though they look huge on your screen. You tend to forget what size they will be! Anyway, this build is gonna be Wow!
