  1. Don't worry about it! It won't affect the result of your build!
  2. Since I couldn't do anything for a while due to a printer strike I began designing the trailer! Beginning with my K123 I began putting the parts together virtually to see if everything fits! What you see here is not the final version but an idea of what it will probably look like. Don't be distracted by the peripheric lines and stuff. That can't be erased when you put the drawings together! Enjoy: VID_20241114_175233~2.mp4
  3. Jeff, that looks so awesome! Keep going!
  4. Sorry to hear that! Anyway I can see them anyway? I'm not sure if I ever posted my Pig Pen? ? Couldn't find it in "Under Glass"!
  5. I can´t seem to be able to view the pics. Strange and really too bad. I´d love to see it being a big Convoy fan! All I see are the .jpeg links but I can´t open them! Anyone have an idea?
  6. Nice clean job on that interior Gary! Don't forget the cup holder for the can of beer! ?
  7. Hey Ron, also keeping Fingers crossed! I always use the yellow Revell tape and I 've made some good experiences with it. If I get impatient and tear it off too early or too quickly I regret it but normally I have good results. When I masked everything I of course put the same color on first that's been masked in order to close gaps. Let cure then the new color! The trick is to pull off the tape before the new color has totally cured. In fact you only wait till it's not completely wet anymore. That way you avoid pulling off the paint as a film at the edges of the tape. Then pull off the tape flat and close (almost parallel) to the surface and really slowly without touching the surface. But what am I playing instructor. You surely know how it works! Keep going! It'll look great!
  8. Just ordered two cans of Revell chrome spray! Should be here by the weekend! (25€ for two bottles) Have to sand and primer first anyway! Besides that I have to print the rims and other parts which will be chromed too. Unfortunately my printer left me standing in the rain again. Seems the extruder hast to be exchanged. Also ordered that. Should arrive tomorrow! Then more progress! Here some pics of my Last build where you can see the nice chrome effect. Fuel tanks, stacks, rims, quarter fenders, grille, mirrors, bumper and a few other smaller parts are coated with chrome spray. Underneath is primer and gloss black. No clear coat this time. Luckily I tried it out on a sample I painted with these parts! Even after total curing, means no fingerprints, the shiny Chrome surface turned flat and looked like normal silver paint. And that was a non solvent water based clear coat!
  9. Nice work! Good idea, looks very authentic!
  10. Good idea! You could stick the rivets next to the pencil Llne and then remove it but I think what you're planing on doing is probably the better solution. Good luck! ?
  11. Can you pre-draw the lines for the rivets with a pencil or will that stay visible? It would make it easier to apply them straight!
  12. Awesome! The headlights remind me of a Ford 9000!
  13. That will look great! I'll have to start working with wood too!
  14. Nice! Will you put a glaze in the wood? Mahogany would look nice! ?
  15. No problem! If the quality is sufficient enough for you I could print them myself and send you the parts! Just for the case you don't find elsewhere what you need! Don't want to be intrusive, Just trying to help!
  16. Hey Gary, If you have pictures and measures I might be able to help you out with a "home made" version! You'd need someone to print it for you though. I could send you the .stl file when the drawings is completed. First you'd get a screenshot of the drawing of course so you can judge it's correctness! It's just an offer!
  17. I think it's worth it! Yes, IT IS expensive but when I look at my Pete day cab I'm very satisfied!
  18. Nice color combo! I actually think the General is one of few trucks that really look good no matter what color they are! That's my personal opinion though. It might be because of the tough design! Anyway, it looks great and I can't wait to see what happens next!
  19. Wow, things you don't think of before they happen! I liked the short stacks too, but in this case I prefer long ones!
  20. I'm sure you'll make it a real jewel of it's time!
  21. The pipes are ready for chrome! Unfortunately my chrome spray is empty! Have to order a new one! I'll need it for the tanks of the truck and trailer and maybe for the rims unless I decided to paint them in blue like the truck!
  22. That's gonna be a nice General! I'll be watching! ?
  23. I changed my mind about the rims! I'll use self made 5-hole rims with oval holes on the outside couse the gap between the "twins" would be too big with the AMT rims! This is a pic of the same rims, I used them on the belly dump of my K123 Convoy truck. Brake drums Inside wheels with hubs! Tank needs to be sanded and primered. Pipes will be longer! I snapped off the other ones. They we're shortened to fit underneath the camper box. Not neccessary anymore!
  24. Tanks look great Jeff! ? I'm sure you'll find a good color scheme too. Keep going Buddy!
