  1. Nice rig! I took like the Louisville! Never drove one though. I do have one in my virtual design drawer but I'm not satisfied enough yet to begin printing! I'm sure it'll find it's way into an own thread sometime next year. You did a a great job on this! Hope to see more of your abilities soon!
  2. Wow, Ron, it looks great! Finished so quickly you managed to give us a feeling of early to mid sixties West Coast trucking! The grille looks so authentic and I like the wheels! All in all you built a beautiful piece of American trucking history! Thanks for sharing!
  3. Thanks very much guys! I can say the same about you! ?
  4. The "Sky Walk" is finished! Side ladders are also printed but I have to be careful removing the Support structure! One ladder broke already but I can fix it. Also the support brackets for the pumping hoses are finished as well as the spare wheel holder. I also designed and printed a bracket for the chassis end to mount the hitch. Just started the print of the tank end covers. Will take till tomorrow! Hope I can do some primering by tuesday or wednesday! It all still needs work before final assembly!
  5. It was worth the effort! Looks great!
  6. What a fine build, Steve! Maybe you should show off your trucks all over your house. That would show the passion you have and convince a potential buyer that you desperately need more space! ? Hope you're Back at the bench soon! ?
  7. What an awesome looking truck Steve! Your builds are the Crown Jewels in truck shape! Now you just need a tower to exhibit them! ?
  8. Oh, I know the feeling! I had ordered the heating element and the extruder at the manufacturer and waited weeks till I finally got the message that both are not deliverable at the time! ? Then I ordered at Amazon and got it after two days. The filament I ordered there wasn't very good though even though it was the original product. The foil it was shrunk in was torn and so the filament had drawn humidity. I had to put it into the filament dryer for two days till it was processable!
  9. Looks great! Very neat work. The hood seems to fit perfectly! Congrats! Great job!
  10. OK, OK, I get it! ? Printing isn't exactly free either. The filament costs, so do the spare parts for the printer. But as I understand it, we all have our costs, we all wait during the process but at the end we all get what we want. The most important thing is, we build! ?
  11. Precise work on that cockpit! Nice colors! Perfect match to the exterior color scheme!
  12. I'll do my best! First the truck will be finished. Still a lot to do on that! This AC condenser is one of the things I meant as I was writing in my thread before! Amazing stuff!
  13. Oh, by the way, when my printer makes me freak out cause it doesn't do what it's supposed to, I sometimes envy you guys. You have all your parts on the bench and don't have to wait for things to finish printing. That's one of the disadvantages of printing. Still I don't wanna miss it! ?
  14. Thanks very much my friend! I might have skills in designing that others don't have but a lot of you guys have detailing skills I can just dream of. I mean look at your Hayes engine for example or the wiring and plumbing of complete chassis and engines some of you have done! We all have skills of some kind but not in everything. I'm always amazed of what you guys do and I try to learn and yes, I admit it, I also "steal" ideas like the the black gloss underneath the chrome spray and stuff like that! The same I'm happy (and a bit proud too) when I hear that guys with such modeling skills as you, Jeff, Steve, Gary, Brian, ... make compliments on my work. I really appreciate that. Thanks all together! It's fun being here and I really feel at home!
  15. Now I also saw the pics and it's really well done! Got any more Convoy trucks? Thanks for sharing!
  16. Took a few pics of the last successful prints! Didn't want to keep you waiting for so long! ? This is the rear of the truck (the same one will be used for the trailer). The fenders for the truck are from the disassembled Volvo F12. They'll be painted blue like the truck! These are going to be the support brackets of the tank on the truck. VID_20241116_121235.mp4
  17. Another printer problem caused a break. A bundle of old filament which must have been unseen underneath the printing bed caused a blockage in the drive belt and ruined the last print job. I got fixed and finally the printing can go on. New pics will be posted when this job is through!
  18. ? another original truck Part shrunk down to scale! Unbelievable how you guys do that! So fun to watch!
  19. Wow, that's gonna be interesting to follow! Great idea the whole thing!
  20. I'll have to rewrite the Supertramp song "it's raining again"! It's printing again, oh yeah I'm building again, oh yeah it's printing again, you know it's hard to resist, ...! ? VID_20241115_121804.mp4
  21. Nice pics! That rig is going to be so nice! I think the length is perfect but it's your model and your inspiration! Do with it whatever you like! It'll turn out great! Like always!
  22. Thanks guys! I appreciate it! ? Now I have to get the printer going again. It seems it's not just the extruder making problems! Today after work I'll take it apart and have a look hoping to be printing again this weekend!
  23. I agree totally that there are good chances of saving this! The look of an old truck with paint coming off and being weathered is a good idea! I'm sure this is going to look even more realistic now than you thought. Keep going and stay patient.
