  1. I showed some of your pics of this build to my wife and her first reaction was: "Why do these guys all have such big workshops at home where a whole truck fits in?" I tried to convince her that it's not a real truck but a 1/25 scale model! She couldn't believe it! I can hardly believe it and I knew from the beginning that there are only models built here! To make this shorter: Amazing job!"
  2. Looks nice! I always use just water and after application and positioning I use Q-tips, you know, these cotton swabs,to slowly and carefully press out and immediately soak up the water underneath! It's worked for me the last years maybe It will for you too? Try it with decals and parts you don't really need anymore first. It takes a bit of practice but you get the hang of it quite fast. But use high quality cotton swabs, the cheap ones' tips fall apart quickly and you get lots of cotton fluff on your wet decals and nobody wants that! Hope that was a bit of use?
  3. Nice job Jeff! Looking really good! I hope you enjoy this distributor puzzle you got from Bren! I hadn't expected it to be so many parts but once you get started you just can't stop! Good thing Bren has such great skills in resin printing. Those small parts would not have come out as nice on my printer! Thanks for your faith in my designing skills! Glad you like the parts! Now we're all anxious to see your progress! Hey, but no pressure Pal! 😉
  4. Nice, Ron! Love that bull bar. Can't wait to see it finished! Have you planned a trailer for it?
  5. Looking nice! I like this kit and I also tried to get rid of the issue with the larger clearance between cab and wheels since the tires are very small for such a huge cab. I used larger tires being too lazy to change the cab hinges! Hope it's OK to show this pic? They're the Revell soft rubber tires used in the level 5 kits! Unfortunately no longer available in Europe since they're taking their American trucks off the market Here!
  6. Congratulations Ron! 4th is really a result to be proud of! 👍 That wrecker looks so great. Even car lovers had to recognize that! Keep going!
  7. I don't know him but his fate makes me sad and I wish him all the best! Jürgen
  8. Thank you very much Ron! I'm proud to hear so many positive reactions of such professional modellers like you, Bren, Jeff, Brian, Gary, ... I hope to decide soon about my next project! First I'll be on vacation for a couple of days to recharge my batteries. But I'll be following your threads by mobile! Have a nice Easter weekend! Jürgen
  9. Thanks very much Brian! 😊
  10. Thanks very much Jeff! I actually never wanted to build a Superliner but somehow I decided to and I wasn't really convinced it would become a nice build! Now I'm quite satisfied and I have two more trucks off the shelf! 😊
  11. Nice resurrection! Looks great!
  12. Hi everyone! I finally got my project "Superliner" finished, including a lowboy trailer. I first didn't know if I would make a trailer for this one but what's a heavy duty tri-drive without a trailer? Seeing the lack of space to put models, even after having built a show case, I decided to build a lowboy and put two older models on it so I can put coming projects in their place on the shelf! Anyway, I finished the rig and strapped two other Macks on it! That's when I had the idea of the "Triple Big Mac(k)!" Special thanks to Bren, who printed my Superliner hood on his resin printer for me. I just couldn't get it done nicely on my own filament printer! You saved me! 😊 Enjoy the pics! First just the tractor: The dent in the grille on the front left side was my way of integrating a crack in the hood due to my clumsy hands. I dropped the finished hood just before mounting it! Now with lowboy: By the way, for those who missed the build thread, the whole rig (Superliner and lowboy) are self designed and printed. Decals also self designed and printed on decal sheet! The loaded trucks are old kits. The AMT Mack Cruiserliner and the Ertl Mack DM800! Both built in the mid 80s and refurbished not too long ago! Now the whole thing including the loaded trucks: Thanks for stopping by!
  13. The second Mack being loaded: The whole rig will be posted "Under Glass" shortly! Thanks for watching and for all your great help and comments! 👍
  14. Time to load the first truck on the lowboy ... ... and get strapped down! (I knew the winch would be useful!😉) The second truck will follow soon!
  15. This is awesome Ron! Keep going! Very clean paint Job and assembly!
  16. Actually Brian, I'm sure you could! I don't have by far your knowledge about trucks and your experience in modelling but I think if you used a KW W900 cab and put Western Star fenders on a scratch hood it would look absolutely real with your abilities! 👍
  17. Finally got the chains! Had to make them rusty though. They were too shiny! 😊 Hope I can strap the two Macks on the lowboy this weekend and finish the project! 👍
  18. Looking great Gary! Did you adjust the hight of the front axle due to the larger diameter of the floaters? I had to on my Superliner. Otherwise the wheels on the front drive axle would have "floated"! I'll be watching! Very nice build!
  19. Undescribable what you're doing, Brian! I always get the feeling that I'm watching the manual manufacturing of a real truck! Ever thought of resurrecting Marmon and building the real thing by hand? 😉
  20. Thanks! It's gonna be a triple Big Mac(k)! 😉
  21. Looks awesome Brian! Carrying on the top build quality to the interior! Fascinating Work!
  22. These two are the candidates to be strapped onto the lowboy! I guess most of you know them from former threads! As soon as the chains arrive I can finish up and move on to the next project.
