  1. Looks awesome! Great build becoming greater everyday! 👍
  2. I meant the parts or did I get that wrong that they were 3D printed? Sorry If I did!
  3. I'm sure those are the same high quality as this build! Maybe I should take a look at some of your threads? 😊
  4. Looks really cool! The nice thing about printing is that you can choose any size or scale you want.
  5. A really nice Pete! Thanks for sharing!
  6. Looks really nice! That narrow nose KW is awesome!
  7. Thanks very much! The tires and rims are printed. Glad you like them!
  8. Too bad you're not planning further trucks! You're doing a great job on this one!
  9. OMG! Steve, that's marvellous!
  10. Looking pretty good! Concerning the tires, I think they're terrible! I built a few of those level 3 kits. The tires are hard and warped. Meanwhile I've exchanged rims and tires on all of them! Makes the difference!
  11. Got the first parts printed. Cab front and rear. Next are doors and a few other parts that will be painted in body color. The chassis and bumper, engine, roof and interior will be printed in white.
  12. Thanks for the explanation! I appreciate it! 😊
  13. Nice build! Looks tough. Never seen the pipe up front before. Was that just for one version of this truck or did this model always have the pipe up there?
  14. Thanks very much! I appreciate it! I'm still not convinced that a resin printer is better for me! Not that I'm not aware of the advantages, I am, but I also heard about the mess it makes and the smell of the solvents in the resin. At least that's what I've seen on several tutorials. Still I haven't stopped thinking about it! For small parts it's surely the better choice!
  15. I just finished the design of the Cat 1673. I know, it´s not 100% but since there seem to be so many variations of this engine I chose pictures that seemed to be very close to the one in this truck. Anyway, I did my best and decided that it´s OK! So all engine specialists, don´t be too hard on me! And here´s a view from the rear into the dog house!
  16. Hello everyone, it´s been quite a while since I posted a new build. A few repairs and restoring projects but nothing really big deal! So I decided to finally begin a new build and again, something not everyday like! I found the pics of this truck in the web and thought that might be a nice build, especially when you consider that it´s supposed to be the last of its kind. At least that´s what they say where I found the pics. Before I actually start building I have a question to the pros here who really know lots about trucks: Can anyone tell me where exactly the tilting of the cab happens? I´m pretty much convinced that it´s between the two grilles but I´m not 100% certain. First I thought that even the bumper might be tilting with the cab but also without certainty. If anyone can give me an answer to that before I start printing that would be really great! Thanks in advance for any well-founded information! For the beginning here´s some pics of my first design attempts: Thanks for looking!
  17. Thanks very much, Ron. I didn't want to change much of the Mack. The small wheels bugged me and since I had to knock it down anyway, I grabbed the opportunity and changed them. Thanks also for your words about the case. I do believe that I have probably introduced each and everyone one the trucks inside.
  18. Awesome build and collection Ron! 👍
  19. That is one hot truck, Gary! Just wow! 👍
  20. Since I do a lot of 3D printing with filament I can only agree with Ron and Bren. I don't have any experience printing resin but I've worked with ordered ones. Their detail is just great especially when you look at small parts and you don't have any printing lines. Filament is very hard and therefore a pain to sand. Still I enjoy using these parts. You can remake broken parts and design your own. Sorry too Jeff for using your thread but since the item came up I felt obliged to add my thoughts. Can't wait to see how this turns out. Improving kits with printed parts makes modelling interesting and fun. Keep going Pal!
  21. With those parts added your build will be very authentic, Jeff! They look really cool! Hope you can find out exactly where they go.
  22. I built it around '82 or '83! Same as the Alaskan Hauler! There was practically no more adhesion. Makes it easy to take it apart without breaking parts!
