  1. i would really like to see someone do any of the Daytona Prototype cars. Curbside or full engine kit. I know that this request is a long shot.
  2. Welcome Bob. Only 800 kits? I've been told that I can start my own hobby shop with the 2945 kits I've got put away.
  3. I have to agree with you on this one. Excelent repop of the Etzel Offy.
  4. Is it possable to share that artical? I've got the kit on the to do shelf and would like to get it right. I also have the 7-11 kit as well. Let me know if it's doable.
  5. You can check out Black Box Models,I know they made a Cadilac LMP1.
  6. I happen to agree with you, reference photos are the best way to get a killer build. I've got some photos from Mosport Trans Am races that show wheel tubs on Tom Gloy's Mustangs. I'm still trying to figure out how to post photo links so I can share them with the group.
  7. Very nicely done! But I've got a question. How come anyone who builds the Revell kit or uses it as a base kit for the BPH trans kit, ever includeds the rear wheel tubs? To me the build looks incompleate with out them. But it's still a nice build.
  8. Nice job so far. There's a book out on the history of IMSA GTP cars, and the Mustang GTP is included, It's got some nice photos of both the 7-11 car and the 6 and 06 Ford factory effort.I saw this car race back in the day at Road America. Great looking car but it had problems with over heating because of the front mounted turbo 4 banger was too small for the size of the car. A 8 cyl. motor would have been best for the car but the folks at Zackspeed only had expereance with the turbo 4. I have two of the Ford factory kits sitting in my stash, some day I'll get around to building them. keep posting your build pictures.
  9. Hello from beautiful Downtown Pickering Ontario.

  13. No models from the wife and kids, but I did get all the books on my christmas bok list. IMSA GTP History Two books on the 917's Paul Newmans Racing book and the Peter Revson Bio. All in all a good haul.
  14. It could be the Monogram Corning Vette. I remember a racing vette with the bubble head lights also, but like you I can't recall the kit.
  15. Good point. The inks in computer printers is a powder, and I don't belive that it will stick to the styrene. I know that large industral printers by HP and Canon, use a dye type ink system that will print on styrene and other plastics with out problems. The best thing to do is try it out and get back to us with what happens. Good Luck.
  16. I just want to finish something.
  17. Out of all the race's that I work in a season, the ALMS race at Mosport is my favourite. I've worked a lot of race's over the years and out side of the Trans Am series the ALMS series is the one that has the best and the closest racing. I just love those P1 & P2 battles.
  18. My favorites are 1) Bulitt 2) Ronin 3) Blues Brothers Not a car chase but it needs to be added, The Charriot race from Ben-Hur
  19. Thanks for all the advice guy`s. I`m going to buy a Sherline in the next few weeks. I`ve ordered a copy of Table top Machining and as soon as it comes in I`ll be just eating, sleeping and breathing the book. I`m looking forward to the next few months.
  20. I'm thinking of taking the next step in my continuing joureny in modeling, machining my own metal parts. I've been doing a lot of reading and have narrowed my choice of leathes down to two. The last time I did any machining was in high school which was over 40 years ago. Has anyone done their own machining at home and if so how did it turn out and how long did it take to get proficant at it.
  21. I'm a production Manager for a Printing Ink Manufactuer here in Canada. Before that I was 1st pressman on a lage format Sheetfeed press which printed folding cartons for the food industry. Our largest customer was Christie Brown followed by Kraft Foods. We printed everything from cracker boxes to cereal boxes.
  22. I started building models when I was about 5 or 6 with my dad. He built World War Two Aircraft & Ships. I guess that I discovered cars around 8 years old & never looked back. Dad showed me how to dry brush, weathering & how to use an airbrush. We both sat in his workshop in the basement and worked on our kits. After dad retired from the RCAF ( that's the Canadian Airforce for my American friends ) he built over 200 models before he passed away with a stock pile of around 300 more he didn't get to start. He show me that building was a fun hobby and that it was a great way to relax. I've tried to pass these skills on to my son , but he's into computer games and can't seem to sit still long enough to get any enjoyment from building.
  23. 2112 was a good album, but I like A Fair Well To Kings better. Also Roll the Bones is good as well. But seriously nothing is going to happen on Dec.21 2012. We'll still be here on this spining dirt ball getting screwed over by our resective goverments and being lied to by everyone else. I just hope that they catch and kill Bin - Ladin by then.
  24. And one more candidate for the Darwin Awards.
