  1. I hadn't really considered joining a club. When does the club meet? Probably should take this out of the thread.
  2. Weird, that is not that far from me in Santa Clarita. ?‍♂️
  3. I just got the mail and still not here in Southern California (91350). I am beginning to suspect it isn't coming. @Dave Ambrose I will let you know if it still hasn't arrived tomorrow, but I do suspect I will need a replacement. btw, my subscription is not under the same email I use to sign into the forum.
  4. Our other real Mustang scale model replicas. We own two others after these I need to make scale replicas of. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/186536-1967-mustang-fastback/ https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/186534-1966-mustang-convertible/
  5. It is going to be a very similar system to what I did for my 1967 Fastback build. 3 position on/off/on. One being interior lighting, other headlights, taillights and gauge lights. Using fiber optic rod to light up the Rally Pac. I do have to figure out how I am going to light up the back of the console but probably more fiber optics.
  6. It was a very busy weekend but I did get some time working on fabrication work. Modified the engine compartment for the 1966 washer pump and small bag. Drilled out the exhaust trumpet opening. Planning on creating the dual exhaust and trumpets from aluminum tubing. Drilled out the side vents, I really hate the lack of detail from the current AMT model kit, it doesn’t even come with the exhaust trumpets like the original kit or promos. Assembled and modified the engine, created power steering pump and bracket and modified the pulley system for dual pulleys. Cast a correct air cleaner and drilled for a nice aftermarket distributor and lines. Used strong white glue to mock up fit with chassis and engine compartment. Still a bit more fab work, creating LED wiring harness and a final white glue mock up before paint.
  7. I just got the mail and i still have not received my print copy here in Southern California (91350).
  8. Nice work! What paint did you use for the exhaust, Alclad Chrome?
  9. A lot of work prepping the body and engine compartment.
  10. I honestly think this is going to be more of a review of the retooled AMT 1966 Mustang GT Fastback body then an update of progress. The bodies proportions are still spot on, but the quality of the body IMHO has taken steps backwards from the original molds. Considering how long it took to re-release this kit I can only assume the original molds were lost to time. I understand them removing the detailed emblems and such in leu of decals instead, but the rest of the details have suffered as well. The door gaps are much shallower, the A pillars are not evenly shaped, the wipers and other details are much less pronounced. I have several original promos and a couple kits and they have much more pronounced detail. They could also have taken this opportunity to add missing details like the headlight doors and rear end caps. Mold lines to remove: Door handles to remove, door gaps to deepen. Door handles will be 3D printed versions and locks will be Top Studio rivets. My Photo-etch kit comes with locks, but I prefer the rivets. Wipers to remove for photo-etch wipers. I still need to clean up the window frame and etch it a bit: Headlight Doors and rear end caps: Rear window frame, still need to fill and fix a bad spot. I still need to fix the A-pillar as best I can and etch the front window frame and side drip rails. Then cut out the trunk lid and create trunk and hood hinges.
  11. Any more progress on this project? I built one based on my 1966 GT Fastback and I am working on a second (Kit bashed with AMT 67 for better chassis). I didn't have any problems painting it. No issues with roughness. Not sure why yours did.
  12. I would think getting the digital copy first would be common. I have a Print + Digital copy of other publications and I usually get a link to the digital first. It doesn't have to deal with USPS.
  13. Just got the mail, still not here in SoCal. At what point should we become concerned it isn't coming? I do have a Print + Digital subscription, received the link and have been able to view it there, but I would still like to have my print copy.
  14. Just got the mail and still not arrived in SoCal.
  15. I have had a lot of Mustangs in the past myself. I had a C-code 65 Coupe in high School, but I put slotted mags on it back then. I really do enjoy the 200 6 cylinders for general cruising and ease of maintenance. Two of the ones I have had in the past I regret letting go was a black/black 1968 S-code 390 GT Fastback and a Lime Gold J-code 1968 California Special. I need to build tributes to them at some point.
  16. That is really looking amazing. I was thinking about getting the 2018 Kit to try to make a version of my 1:1 convertible, this give me hope. What are your plans for the headlights?
  17. Being as OCD as I am I could not stand how poorly the hood fits so I cast another Louvered hood, and I am working to make it fit much better than the first. Time to make an MCW order for some more Acapulco blue paint. btw, the AMT 67 kit does not come with a louvered hood so I borrowed one from a Revell 1968 Mustang kit and made a mold of it so I can make as many as I need. It is a 1/25 kit as well and only needs a little trimming to fit, it is actually larger than the AMT hood opening.
  18. I have prepped the dash for gauge LEDs. This should show well my process. Cut the wheel off the steering column and pinned it. Created the rally pac pods on the column. Added a turn signal lever. Drilled holes in the dash aligned with the pods for fiber optic rods to light the rally pac with the gauges. Created the lens for the dash and rally pac.taped and marked for aligning the gauge face decals. Created the light enclosure and opening for a 1.8mm green LED.
  19. I agree, but in this case my mother still owns it, it isn't "former owned".
  20. No, I need to check there. I go to Burbank House of Hobbies quite regularly, great shop, but it seems old-school hobby shops like I remember as a kid are few and far between these days.
  21. Never mind, I just looked in my junk mail and a link to the digital version was there. I received it at 3:50pm PT today, thanks.
  22. I go to National Parts depot in Ventura quite often myself to keep up the 1:1 Mustang fleet. Nice area.
  23. While semi-patiently waiting for the print copy do you know if access to the digital copy is available? I signed up for print + digital subscription in September and have no idea how to get access to the digital copy.
  24. Absolutely amazing build!
  25. Just checked my mail...still not here yet in SoCal.
