  1. One word, menacing! That's the way they looked on the street and the way this model looks. Excellent job.
  2. Wow, great model. I can almost hear it screaming down the front straight at Indy!

What a blast from the past. I remember building one of these back in the dark ages. Great job, thanks for the memories.
  4. LOL, have you pitched this to Hollywood?
  5. Impressive model, great weathering. I love what you did to the grill, very realistic.
  6. I just saw the WIP you did remaking this from an Earnhardlt car, impressive.
  7. Clyde you just keep turning out good looking Petty cars one after another. When do you sleep? Nice model.
  8. I like it. A footnote in Petty history. DK was a good journeyman driver, raced hard with what he had like many others back in the day.
  9. A great father-daughter project. I hope she stays interested, at least until boys take over
  10. Great model Randy. The color looks right for the era even if it's not 100% correct. I really like the whitewalls and the extra underhood detailing. Are the tires painted or sourced from another kit?
  11. Well deserved, great run. Johnson gave him a couple scares during the race but the #2 didn't blink. Too bad Dodge is leaving next year.
  12. Cool car. I've always been partial to Pontiacs. Kyle's signature is almost as involved as Richard's, I wonder where he got that
  13. Excellent model. GM sold a lot of these grocery-getters, helped keep them afloat in the miserable '80s. Great job.

Beautiful. I've always liked this body style of Tbird. Great job on the black.
  15. Beautiful model of a mainstream car. I'd wager Ford sold more 6 cyl Mustangs than V8s back in the day, this captures it perfectly. I love it!
  16. Plum Crazy with white interior, great color choices. Nice job, display it with the hood up to show off that hemi, problem solved.

It's Rustoleum 'Painters Touch' gloss Sage Green. I don't have an airbrush so I'm always prowling the hardware stores for off-beat spray bombs. Thanks to everyone for all the nice comments. I enjoyed this build, the kit went together very well for me.
  18. Awesome model, I really like this a lot. Clean build, great color choice.
  19. Great model. I'm looking to get into more of these classics, they just exude class.

It's all the kit. The body slid on like a glove, no teeth-gritting spreading to get the chassis in. Stance is unaltered. I really like the factory stock look and build most of them that way.

My latest completion, just finished the jewelry tonight. AMT kit, bone stock. I did go for the hopped-up motor option, dual carbs and dual exhaust. Hope you like, thanks for looking. Comments appreciated.
  22. Nice job. Man that's a lot of foil! Was this a kit body or did you whack the roof?
  23. Nice clean builds, I love that McLaren. Glad to see you here. I've noticed the SA forum slowing down as of late.
  24. Grandpa on dad's side had a '55 Olds Ninety Eight, 4dr, white over green and a '66 Cutlass that I recall. Grandpa on mom's side worked for Frigidaire which was then a division of GM so he got the employee discount. Always had 2dr Impalas. I remember a white '60, a red '63, light green '66, and the red '70 Caprice with black vinyl top when he passed. Must be where my love for Impalas comes from? Dad was a car guy from day one. First one I remember was a '57 Plymouth, then a '58 Impala convertible. Traded that on a bright red '64 Grand Prix (he wanted a GTO but mom was along), that's the car I learned to drive in. After that was Grandpa's Cutlass when he passed, then a '68 Toronado. His first 2nd car was a '49 Plymouth, then a '60 MGA, a '63 Triumph TR4, and finally a '66 Corvette coupe. The 'vette was nothing special, 327 with a Powerglide but he loved that car. He had sense enough to never let me drive it alone! Great thread, lot's of memories!
  25. Wow, $99K+ for a model, even at 1/3 scale. That would put a couple nice muscle cars in the garage with change. It does show however that the technology is here and maturing rapidly.
