  1. Those Olds' would be sweet. And they could tool up Buicks and Pontiacs of the same vintage for me! I'd love to find a '59 Buick.
  2. Sharp looking cars. You must have a pretty good collection by now!
  3. This looks great, what a great idea!
  4. I totally agree. Leaving out a top on any convertible is flat-out wrong.
  5. I use Testors Gloss Gull Gray for interiors from this era which seems pretty close to my eye.
  6. The bodies are slightly different in the front ends and side glass areas. Search for Mark J's build of the Miller Lite #2 to see how much work he put into making an accurate Dodge from the AMT COT! I couldn't tell you for sure what the differences are with the Fords, but I'm sure there are some subtle lines. I did a Google search for COT's and the best shots are the cars in primer to discern the differences in the noses. Hope this helps?
  7. Great looking car John. How many builds have you completed anyway? You must have a large display!
  8. Those aero Montes were some of the best looking racecars IMO. Nice job on an obscure subject.
  9. Excellent model, very nice job. Love the shot next to the gas pump.
  10. Do a google image search for Days of Thunder, quite a few outside pics. I didn't see any interior shots but it's basically all gloss gray inside.
  11. As already noted, the taillight panel looks great. Nice clean build, I love Impalas!
  12. I see a rat. A very cool one that is well constructed and safe, but a rat nonetheless. Perhaps 'grunge-rod'?
  13. You're making my point Harry, it's just a matter of degree. I respect those who will put a model on the table against others to be judged by others. If that's what motivates, go for it. I'm not saying that posting a build on a forum is the equivalent of entering a contest, but it is putting your work out there as opposed to going on the shelf never to be seen by anyone else, and there's nothing wrong with that either. Whatever works to keep building, learning, and getting better.
  14. Clean black paint, great looking model.
  15. I "build for myself" in this context but I also admire those that build for contests. It's hard to put your work out there for the world to see and judge, whether it's on a table or on-line on a forum.
  16. That's why the bars are so thick, the fuel is in them LOL. Nice car, the fuel cell hanging out back there would make me very nervous
  17. Sweet. I like JB a lot but he hasn't done so well since leaving Roush for RCR. Great paint scheme.
  18. It's different. I like the paint scheme.
  19. Great model, especially the underhood details. I love these builds of real cars that mean something to the builder.
  20. It was the 63 convertible, I don't know if they did a coupe or not. Blue car on the box.
  21. Amt '63 Corvette, Prestige series. Lights-Camera-Action! I initially thought the tripod legs were crutches but there are 3 of them?
  22. My favorite year after the '59. Great job.
  23. Like someone else mentioned, great to see Dave Blaney in scale. Great model, I love the helmet detail - never seen that done!

    Chrysler 300

That is sweet. Hope mine comes out 1/2 as nice. Great job.
  25. Nice looking car. Those decals must have been a bear. Maybe a dab of silver on the hood pins? I like it a lot.
