  1. I knew we were all cavemen! George Carlin said we're all just monkeys with car keys!
  2. May I just say congratulations on both builds, they are excellent. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

    1981 buick

How long did Richard run a Buick? I know everyone went to them in the '80s because of the more aero slope-nose grill, then some went with Olds until the Monte aero sedan was approved.
  4. LOL. And maybe wash Snooki out of Jersey!
  5. I read this earlier today at work and was going the mention the Revell ASA cars but Tommy beat me to it. They are a good start, but some scratching will be needed.
  6. Google Images is your friend. Resource materials that used to be impossible to find are all over the 'net.
  7. Seems to me the only relevant question is the last one, the rest all seem pretty obvious? For some it's the journey, for others the destination (pretty much like everything else in life). When I was a kid modeling taught me a lot about cars and how they work (also aircraft, naval craft, armor, etc) as well as building dexterity, problem solving, and building confidence. Now I build as a stress reducer (most of the time ) and to have tokens of the real cars I would own if I were Jay Leno. Sites like this one that let us share our work and constructive criticisms have helped me step up my game although I wouldn't call myself anything above average. Great thread, I hope this helps you in your studies.
  8. We got hammered by Irene so this doesn't look very promising!
  9. Great model. Love the rear tires, tucked in just right.
  10. Beautiful models. I can't imagine working on something in 1/75!

    2008 COT

Great looking car, nice job on the resto.
  12. I don't think the bounty would cover the damage of hitting a hog at 85 ! Wow.
  13. Great model, love the extra wide whites!
  14. Nice sled, love the paint, great colors!
  15. Amazing work, very realistic weathering. Put it on the right backround and I'd swear it was real!
  16. That is sweet, especially the big meats out back and the grille shell. Great job on the engine as well. If it was me I'd dirty up the headers just a touch, they kind of jarringly stand out against the rest of the weathering? Excellent model!
  17. Very nice. I'm really getting into the older cars from the '50s-60s, on a kick lately. You did a great job on this.
  18. The movie didn't live up to the hype at the time, 'Top Gun' in racecars, but I love it anyway. Cars are looking good!
  19. This is seriously cool! One of those vehicles one sees everyday and pays no attention. Great details under the hood and in the cab, as well as those cool mirrors. I've got to look up the WIP to see how those were done.
  20. Great looking truck. I love the "Built not bought" sticker on the back.
  21. Doh. My mistake. Jarrett was in the Interstate #18 that day anyway.
  22. "It's the Dale & Dale show, you know which one I'm rooting for" - Ned Jarrett. Nice OOB builds, I like them a lot.
  23. Another great job John. Love the paint.
  24. This is so cool! I love the white-on-white with red accents. Really nice.
  25. Wow. I struggle to get a box-stock build completed. These just blow me away, very creative and realistic.
