  1. I was there as well, in October/November. It was still hot enough that they cancelled outdoor PT a few times. Then they sent me to Duluth, talk about weather shock! RIP Dusty.
  2. The AMT '66 Olds has both front and rear sway bars, I have one on the bench right now.
  3. Love it! Reminds me of my old beast.
  4. Dave, some great information here, thanks for sharing. My condolences on your loss.
  5. That's a beauty, nice job!
  6. The chrome tree in this kit got the lacquer coating but not the "chrome", so I did a blacked-out version using various sheens of black, gloss, semi-gloss, matte, satin, and flat. The minibike chopper was in the kit as well although there was no mention of it anywhere on the box. Comments welcome, thanks for looking!
  7. Great first post, you'll fit right in. Keep them coming.
  8. Layer lines seem to be a stumbling block for 3d printing. I'm interested in seeing how the acetone process plays out with ABS should you decide to go that route. I'm very much following your progress with this Redbull.
  9. Great save! Did you have much work removing the side skirts? I have one of these that I've been putting on the back burner. What did you use for rechroming the bumpers?
  10. Beautiful tribute, condolences.
  11. I love the look with the black wheels, very nice!
  12. A true survivor, very nice! S.S. Grand Prix
  13. Wow, beautiful work! I've been debating on getting this kit, how was the build?

    Really nice job!
  15. Very cool! I remember a TV show back in the '60s that featured park rangers riding around on one of these fighting crime, etc. It was called the Everglades.
  16. I like it! Yes Heller kits are quirky but they offer subjects you can't get anywhere else. You did a great job.
  17. They sure look good from here! What issues are you having with water based paint? I'm thinking of switching, easier clean up and friendlier fumes seem to be worth investigating.
  18. Thanks Dave and Rich for the kind words. I've been on a F1 kick lately, amassing 1/24 kits, I don't have room for anything bigger.
  19. Love that color, well done!
  20. I should have stated in the open, this is 1/24 and the kit is from Wave, a manufacturer I'd never heard of before. I do have a Tamiya in the stash for the future.
  21. From Wikipedia: The Tyrrell 020 was a Formula One racing car designed by Harvey Postlethwaite and George Ryton for Tyrrell Racing and raced during the 1991 season. The 020 was driven by Satoru Nakajima who brought the Honda engine contract with him and also by Stefano Modena. Its best result was a second place by Modena in the Canadian Grand Prix. Tyrrell scored 12 points to finish 6th in the Constructors' Championship with half the points scored by Modena's 2nd in Canada. The car was powered by the 690 bhp (515 kW; 700 PS) Honda RA101E V10 engine previously raced by McLaren in 1990 and maintained by Mugen Motorsports, which would run Mugen-Honda badged engines the following year for Footwork Arrows. The car was updated for the 1992 season and was dubbed the 020B. For this season the Honda V10 was replaced with the 680 bhp (507 kW; 689 PS) Ilmor LH10 V10 engine and was driven by Olivier Grouillard and veteran Andrea de Cesaris. The team only scored 8 points for the season but again finished in 6th place. My first time building a kit from Wave. Very basic, few parts, it was almost a snap kit the way it went together. The tires were suspect as they seemed "sticky" no matter how much I cleaned them. I coated them with Future both before and after the decals and they seem to be OK. Simple curbside slump-buster between more complex builds. Comments welcome, thanks for looking.
  22. That is sweet! Mind sharing any details, scale, manufacturer, paint used, issues with the build? The fluorescent red is spot on.

    T's times 4

Looks like great therapy, they all look good.
  24. As others have mentioned Heller kits are quirky at best. Display it with the bonnet open to see the great engine work, well done.
