What did you see on the road today?
Falcon Ranchero replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I’ve heard rumour of a few four door caddy convertibles having been built. Not sure they came out of the factory like that, but I have seen photos of other ones before. Still have yet to see a ‘59 in real life; one of my favourite cars. -
There once was a dude from Kentucky, who spent hours with his pet rubber ducky, the duck got away, twas such a sad day, it turns out Kentucky's unlucky

Watched a cool little movie yesterday, Pit Stop, from 1967. Release date says 1969, but in the credits says copyright 1967. Was in black and white though but the cars were pretty cool. Especially that custom Buick Wildcat at the beginning.

Favorite Classic Truck?
Falcon Ranchero replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
These count as trucks, right? The 1958 and 1960 Chrysler Wayfarer from down under -
The Big Boys-Large Cars
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That's really a neat story; I think I mentioned that my friend's younger brother has a 1969 Chrsyler Newport, big green four-door. Officially I think it's the kid's first car, too. I think he got it just last summer, for $4000. Bit of a parallel story here but you had the wagon version as your first car. Seen his green machine from a distance once, and i've seen photos of it, it looks kinda like this, just darker green and minus the vinyl top. -

The GrooveStang '76 (1966 fastback)
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in Model Cars
Here’s all three together. None of these were new out of the box, I had to save them from the poor attempts by the first owners, but the Hertz one was my dad’s originally built as the white Shelby, he took it apart, and sprayed it black, rebuilding it but never finished the rebuild, so I did. -
What Did You Get Today? (Not Model Related)
Falcon Ranchero replied to LOBBS's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Well guys we jinxed my stapler; it kinda broke in the sense that whenever I push it down to staple paper, the staple load part pops out. I did rig up something on it that has in a way, fixed it, but not surprisingly the part that broke was the only plastic bit on the thing. I just have to pull back on the paper clip there when I want to staple and it works fine. -
Coming along very nicely, your amount of detail is, as always, outstanding. Quick question, what spray did you use for chroming the bumpers? Been trying to find a chrome spray that actually looks chrome, and those bumpers there look just like chrome

Here’s the link to my Catalina build. Gotta get my hands on the 64 GTO though.

Happy AMT/IMC/MPC/Revell Day!
Falcon Ranchero replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That’s hilarious. But I am going to have to wait till February to build the next kit in line -
Now that’s super cool. Love the colour scheme, but I may be a little biased as my 62 Catalina is also gold with dark brown interior. Awesome rims on the GTO too

Oh yeah that’s all I listen to, mainly influenced by my parents and the fact that the radio stations in both their vehicles are, 80s on 8, the bridge, classic vinyl, classic rewind, hair nation, and ozzy’s boneyard. It’s all cool music and I’d rather listen to it.

Got the latest issue of Muscle Cars mag today, after waiting like 3 months for stores to carry it. Also was able to actually bring a resume into a grocery store today, and it went well so fingers crossed guys that I can stock shelves soon.

What Scared the Heck Outta You Today
Falcon Ranchero replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Slippery roads. On Wednesday, driving back to the college in the afternoon, going along my merry way and what not. Light was red at an upcoming intersection, a truck was stopped already. I'm doing like 40km, because my vehicle fishtailed a bit heading up the road so I was takin' it easy. Step on the brakes and she just slides, no slowing down whatsoever. I'm about to rear-end the truck in front of me, but thankfully there was a parking lot on my right so I turned in there. Had I not I would've hit that truck. Also noticed while I was in that parking lot, a few moments before, some kids in a car had done the same thing, though at higher speeds because the car was up a snowbank, dangling the wheels. The sand trucks haven't been seen anywhere so I don't know what the holy halibut they're doing. -
