  1. That's absolutely awesome. A boat tail Riv is on my list of cars to get one day. Used to be a black and white '71 or '72 in town, sitting in a camping trailer storage lot, rotting away. Then one day it was gone. Have fun with your car. Red is a great colour too.
  2. That is true; and I've seen vintage radios for sale that have been converted to a "blue tooth" stereo system, where they just gut the radio's ancient internals and put a whole new system in and it connects to your phone and whatnot, but I'm not a huge fan of that idea but I'm not 100% ruling it out as an option. For now though it'll be in my desk drawer. May or may not bring it to a car show to show my friend who also likes vintage stuff.
  3. Got my 1962 Oritone transistor radio back from my dad’s friend who fixes stuff like that. And unfortunately he couldn’t fix it, and if he says he can’t fix it then it’s done because he knows his stuff. A shame because I liked the radio. I guess a plus is now I gotta find a new one but it’s just disappointing that it was working perfectly for a month and that was it.
  4. So that's the red car on the top... wasn't sure what that was. I was aiming for that gorgeous '57 Sport Sedan Bel Air. I'd love to have one of those for sure.
  5. Looks cool; the backdrop is awesome. I’ve been meaning to try and photograph a model using perspective in front of a real garage so the scale looks real. But the photo you’ve got in the background definitely works
  6. Also on the way home yesterday we stopped at a place for lunch and a '75 Ford Elite came in and parked.
  7. On Saturday evening I was in a book store, and then looked out the window and two Dodge Darts, a Barracuda, a shortbox Chevy and a '40 Ford drove past. Parked at a restaurant close by so I had to check them out. Some of those cars came up for the Copper Cliff show (held yesterday) that was the purpose of our trip.
  8. Saw this awesome Chevy truck on Saturday, also in Sudbury.
  9. Saw these convertibles yesterday in Sudbury, Ont.
  10. That does look very good; quite a difference it makes. Nice car by the way, also a fellow ‘69 Pontiac owner.
  11. Looks cool. I’m getting quite a ‘68 Bullitt Mustang vibe from this. Definitely from the colour but even the body shape and rear end. Nice detailing too 👍
  12. The side marker lights and the Fisher Body embossed decal that goes on the door sill (was missing on the driver's side) for the Highway Star have finally come in after being delayed an extra week for no reason. Probably later we'll pop those lights in and stick the decal down.
  13. I always thought that would be an awesome way to stick it to a scammer; had a similar idea to answer the phone and then get an air horn and just blow it full force into the phone. Have yet to try that but I probably won't.
  14. I saw that picture maybe 5 years ago; have a print out somewhere...
  15. Gotta split these up; post was too colossal to be as one.
  16. Went on a cruise in the Highway Star yesterday. Saw a '66 Chevelle convertible, that began following us. Saw the '66 Caprice that parked beside us at the A&W show. That Chevelle followed us until we turned off down a different street. We were on our way to the mechanics shop because my dad was there yesterday and said there was an old Chevy van thing; namely a 1953 Chevy sedan delivery, that, for years had been sitting on a sketchy property downtown, with loads of no-tresspassing signs. Had a photo from 2022, when we went there to see it, that I took through the closed window of the truck, and I put that photo on the forum somewhere, but yesterday at the mechanics it was fair game to photoshoot. Also there was a 1984 Chrysler Fifth Avenue, that was for sale for $4000 from I believe the original owners. So the new owner must be getting a check up for it. And in the shop was a new to the Soo, from 4 hours North the highway in Thunder Bay, a 1972-ish Plymouth Duster. Absolutely stunning car. Hoping to see it at shows soon.
  17. August 11 was the delivery date for my 1970 Mercury brochure. Today’s not August the 11th. And here it is.
  18. Well, I officially have my '60 Plymouth Suburban kit. All complete, but partially built, that is, the engine block was painted, but that's about it. Has a set of rear drag wheels and rims, so the intention was a Drag Wagon build. Not gonna happen. It's number 3 in line now to build, so it may be a while, but it's so awesome to have my first grail kit, and my first Jo-Han
  19. My dad had built that kit in 1983; long gone now but there’s photo evidence I have to try and find that shows it built up back in the day.
  20. Only one, and it's a '69 Camaro. Monogram's 1977 "IMA Z/28" Street Camaro. Dad's build that he put together in 1983 but then took apart years later so in 2021 we built it up again. Not the best of my work since that was the first year building for me, but it's not terrible.
