Yeah, that 40 has taken a middle seat, it hasn't taken a complete back seat yet I have something else that I am working on that I cannot speak of just yet. When the time comes it will be revealed. Body work is just about done on the secret project. The 40 ford will be finished after that.

The BIG CAR CHALLENGE!!!
Ken replied to Ron Hamilton's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Gonna go all in with either the Revell 59 eldo or the AMT 300 C I just started. Which ever I decide, I will participate!!! -
Absolutely in-freakin-sane. The engine just needs some fluids and it looks like it would start right up. Great work!!!

Great minds think alike Zed. Here is my take on the Revell 40 Ford. I chopped the top and sectioned the body as well. I need to get the rear end lower though. I may swap in a model A or T rear spring and perch just like the real rodders do. That should bring the rear into the weeds!!!

As others have said, I need a friend like that!!!!!

Post your ford street rods please

Two more that were started recently. Needed a bare metal car in the garage. Revell 32 Roadster covered with BMF. Frame is in MM Buffing Stainless Steel. A bit darker color than the BMF. Engine and running gear will be out of the kit. Color has not been decided for the Engine and such just yet. Revell 40 Ford standard kit with dropped front axle from the Pro-Modeler issue of the 40 convert. Engine goodies are from the same kit Body sectioned 3 inches through beltline. Top chopped 3 inches as well. Fenders will be molded to the body and bumpers may be deleted. Still working out the small details before going any further. -
Tamiya shows new life. Mercedes McLaren SLR coming!
Ken replied to Zoom Zoom's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have one of the McLaren kits and they are a handful. I have gotten as far as groking the kit in the box and that is about it. I did read the directions and mine state that the modeler must make a decision as to how the model will be displayed. The directions mention that with all the goodies attached, some of the body panels may not fit. Mine went back in the box till I get up the courage to start -
Ah! Future! the modeler's ever evolving tool. Is there anything it can't do. I heard it is also a dessert topping

Revell or Fujimi? Either way, it is looking really good.

Hey Ismael, I am having problems myself with the 'new' revell plastic. What did you use to paint? Did you have any problems with crazing? TIA

I swear, mine, if he is awake, he is plotting some form of mischief!!!!!

Here is my culprit. He was found wandering around on the front porch last October. He was deemed too cute by the wife to allow to live outside... He has since tried to overthrow the current hierarchy of cats a zillion times. The two older males are not having any of that though. So he has commenced to taking over that which he can, My pillow, the top rung on the the climbing pole He rigorously defends his postion against all attackers But I have yet to convince him that I rule the house. He goes to the doctor on friday to be 'fixed' My wife is desparately hoping that his 'correction' will calm him down a bit.

What kills a project for you?
Ken replied to Steve H.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The CAT!!!!!!! -
Looks very familiar Ajay... The rims and tires are out of the 58 corvette kit from Revellogram. They are the same rims and tires you used. I rebuilt the kit spindles and front suspension along with the rear to get it into the weeds as this kit needs to be. Hopefully, yours will stay together longer than mine. The newest kitten discovered that with just a few leaps he could get up to all the shiny stuff on the shelf. The charger suffered the worst, but it is being rebuilt. Very Slowly, but it is being rebuilt.

Those 904s look great. I just re-started my monogram kit as well as the old Revell Speedster kit. The 904 got put back in the box for now as I realized I had lost the front pan. I found the rear pan in a different box, but I can't for the life of me find the front pan. Started a viper instead... still in porsche colors though. Metallic silver with a red interior...

I just got "THE" holy grail.....
Ken replied to FASTBACK340's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Glad to hear another grail is down. I am still searching for mine. I really want one of the ex-heller/protar/union Ferrari 512 S racers. I keep trying on the bay, but they tend to exceed my price. Glad to hear some one else's luck is better than mine. -
Looks like something any NBA star would be proud to drive. Beautiful job man!!!!

Little blurry from camera shake. Try more light. Other than that, it looks good from here. -

Super Good Guy alert to Ken
Ken replied to Billy Kingsley's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Oh yeah, this is not a PIF. This is something that I picked up from a cigar(my other expensive hobby) Board I frequent. We send other members packages out of the blue for no other reason than we think that they will like the contents. This is called bombing. It is a very good thing in the online cigar community when some one bombs your mail box Not trying to start anything or show anyone up. I found the kit in the stash and remembered seeing Billy's post on the recent aquisition of someone else's NASCAR stash and figured he would enjoy it. Plus it is kind of fun to send the stuff out and makes the wife happy to see one less kit in the house.
