  1. I built this one some time back as a "homebuilt" wrecker. The 3 deuces would just make it a little more fun to get the job done. I used small pieces of plastic to raise the front end, but I probably should have used more.
  2. Jim The tires are from the parts box. They're 10 hole budds, redone into 5 hole.
  3. The first two pictures were placed in error. These are the pictures I meant to display. If I can get a good day for pictures, I'll take some outdoor pictures and post them.
  4. I built this one for a community build on another forum. It's built from an old Road Boss kit and the mixer body from a Kenworth kit. The kits for this were left in the trunk of a car for an extended time many years ago. They had some serious warp to them, but I was able to overcome the problems. It's a tribute to the American Bicentennial.
  5. This one sat in a box for at least 10 years, and actually survived the trip from Iowa to here. The only damage it seems to have suffered, is the rear bumper has developed a sag.
  6. That's a nice one, and the color choice is spot on.
  7. Models not sitting straight, often due to not cleaning the mold nubs off of the tire tread.
  8. Nice build on this long roof.
  9. It's a fun but very challenging kit to build. I couldn't resist and put 3 deuces on one that I built. The next one needs a hemi.
  10. This is really a popular game. It's popping up all over the place. I got 100% when I took it the first time it showed up on facebook. I hope they do more of them.
  11. It's hard to even comprehend this level of damage. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected.
  12. I used Silica Sand mixed into water based house paint for my garage. I was quite pleased with the end result. For reference, it's on page 4 of this section.
  13. There are a couple of safe estimations. It could be guessed that there are twice as many modelers as there would be if there were half as many as there are. One could also assume that there are half as many modelers as there would be if there were twice as many as there are. That's just a guess on my part though.
  14. I have always had a large stash of models, and I now have a storage building jammed to the door plus probably another hundred here in the house. I have plans to build all of them in my later years, but I also know that models once saved my family financially years ago. This is my retirement stash, but it's also an investment. It pays to start young when money is more available. One also never knows when tragedy will strike. Plan ahead.
  15. I second what Dennis said. I hope that some resin caster runs with this idea.
  16. In my hometown, we had a gentleman that put up a very nice youth type center, back in the mid-sixties. It was brightly lit, and had a fantastic race track. The only problem is that the bullies like to hang around outside, and would break the kids slotcars. It lasted for about a year before the gentleman finally gave up and closed, because the bullies were chasing off the good kids. I really loved that track though.
  17. Thanks for the information. When armed with the right words, worlds do open up. I appreciate your time and efforts.
  18. I need some good interior detail pictures of 65 Mustang 2 + 2 fastbacks. I can find a lot of exterior pictures by searching the net, but very few interior, and they don't show much more than the front seats. I need to see where chrome trim was applied, such as around the side and rear windows and door panels, the location/shape of the dome light/lights, etc. What interior colors were available? I'd like to do mine with a red and white interior if that was an option.
  19. This is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the progress shots with us. I'm going to give this a try.
  20. I had two cars pretty much at the same time. One was a 48 Chevy coupe, and the other was a 58 Olds 98 4 door hardtop. I'm not sure which one actually came first, as it would have been by a matter of a couple of days. The Chevy could be built using a Galaxie Limited kit, and I remember seeing a resin coupe body someplace. I actually had a promo of my 58 Olds, and it was even in the green over white colors, but hard times back in the 80s caused me to have to sell it, and I haven't been able to find one since.
  21. Thank you. I know that was a paid vacation, but it's one I didn't get pleasure from. I did like the coming home part though.
  22. I just spent nearly a month on one, and yours came out better.
  23. I'll send ya some prayers. Hang in there, and get better.
  24. Tom. That's what the all the girls I dated said about me. LOL
  25. What's weird is that when I brought the site up just now, I'm back to who I'm supposed to be. I don't understand it, but at least I don't have hours of work ahead of me to figure it out.
