  1. Did a little work on the suspension. Have to paint the front crossmember assembly and add a few details to it. Plus have to do the front wheel assembly mounts too. Slowly making progress on things.
  2. I hit my LHS, and the LHS in Tulsa today. The Merc & Paint is from LHS, and the other paint goodies is from Tulsa.
  3. Decals that are going on, will bechecking out a few more of the old school poncho's that were raced to see the lay out.
  4. Im digging this!
  5. Welcome Jeff and that's killer work!
  6. Insane! Awesome craftsmanship!
  7. Excellent job!! Can't wait to see what you do next! Black is a pain at times to come out right, and you did fantastic! The decal work looks great too! You should be proud man!! I am for you! What are you going to build next?
  8. Love that Vicky!! Fantastic!
  9. Thanks David! I just got the 2nd coat of clear on the body, and 1st coat of clear on the hood, will 2nd coat the hood tomorrow and then it's 3-4 days of it curing before decals. Once decals are done I will feel much better about things.
  10. Oh this is awesome!
  11. Looks like an Iceman Chassis for sure. And this is gonna be wicked, and look forward to your build as well Bob!
  12. You killed it!! This is amazing! This looks ready to run!! I can't wait to see what crosses your bench next!
  13. Yeah it is a bit of a bummer, but hey I think it will turn out quite well going with the different look. I should try and get some foil this week.
  14. So, I got an old tackle box for parts, my mother inlaw who passed 16 years ago was a sewing monster, well we were unpacking a shipping crate soon to be my actual outside shop for mechanic work etc, we came across it, full of stuff that is old and in poor shape due to age, my wife couldn't salvage any of it, so I am recycling the tackle box for parts. And if things stay like they are, I may make a traveling model building box out of it. Will get some foam for bodies, and have lots of space for tools, and paint. So it was my new to me tool box for building.
  15. The Hudson paint went stupidly smooth tbh. Same with the Sunny Datsun. The Skyline has fought me almost all the way with the color I want on it. I don't have any foil but may have to get some. Cant hurt to learn. Thank you sir! Your right, when things go right it's an amazing feeling!
  16. Those are nice, and wife got an Outback, test drove it at 2miles, left the lot at 7 miles. She has never had a new car that low on miles, so was thrilled for her. We considered the Crosstrek, except my tall self cant sit them comfortable even with seat all the way down. Those are slick! I hope you enjoy it man!!
  17. Lots of stuff, Hudson is fully cleared, will do the trim painting soon. (Will likely mask and brush paint) The Sunny Datsun, a little mock up and it is on its wheels fully, the chassis work is fully done. Interior work is in progress. The Skyline decided once again to be a menace, so I am gonna change my thought process from a flawless paint to a worn paint.
  18. 1st coat of gloss is on, 2nd coat of paint on the hood. Will get both in 2nd coats of gloss then it's decal time. Then I can truly focus on the chassis, engine and interior.
  19. The upside of our hobby... Buying of the kits, seeing young builders walking into the hobby shop and buying stuff, having the parents supporting the hobby. Seeing everyone's take on a kit, seeing every ones different skill levels, having the hour or so a day of quiet to be creative. Seeing things come together. Having met some good folks, on here and on my one discord, met some good folks at the local hobby meeting too.
  20. Yeah, I may do that.
  21. I put the 1st coat of clear on the Hudson. I put the 2nd coat on the Catalina, and 1st on it's hood. Datsun Sunny has the bed mounted to body, and chassis pretty much done. Will work on the interior next and decals too.
