Those cove moldings can be so difficult to chrome - yours looks just great, although only done on the top? Nice all around build.
-
Sharp build with really clean detail - and I love those wheels.

A mild kitbashing of AMT's 1968 Elky Street Machine

That stance is just perfect. -
One of my favorite subjects - I like the detail work on the dash.

These were a pleasure to see - thanks for posting them.

Grandpa´s daily driver, grocery getter, doodlebug...
Cosmic D replied to Michael F's topic in Model Cars
Doodlebugs are a great subject and I hope to see more of them - especially so nicely done. I remember a neighbor had one back in the early 60's and lost the gas cap out in his field - I was the one who found it and was rewarded with a quarter. -
I love these unusual subjects - this one is a keeper.

That's a 100% perfect build, not to mention the great photography. Congratulations - I might even drive up to Buffalo to see this in person.

A very impressive build - love those brakes.

Thanks for sharing a subject we rarely see here in North America - a perfect build with great detailing.

Really nice color and a clean build.

inkjet printed cloth interior...test on 1955 Mercedes Benz 300SL Gull Wing
Cosmic D replied to VanGoGo's topic in Model Cars
Absolutely calls for a tutorial - like you I'm not so tech savvy but I have a printer, photo editing and ready to try this out since I have a Minicraft Mercedes in the pipeline. How did you remove the paper backing after the printing? -
Really sharp job on the interior.
-
Nicely done - I especially like the wheels and tires.

Trunk and other panel lines look nice. Classic subject with great detail and especially that color. I was a young man barely driving age when the real things were around and this has super nostalgia going for it.
-
I would like to see more builds like this - stock, clean and a great subject well done.
-
Your nice paint job and choice of color really complements this build.
-
Great rebuild and a nice choice for the body color.
-
Sharp looking build. IMC made some really super models back in the day - I loved their Beetle kit.
-
Unusual to find four door versions of 50's vehicles. Your research and detail really show. Nice work to be proud of. Don't you wish the Jo-Han molds still existed?

Hello Alan - I am reviving this thread to tell you how impressed I am with this build. I am in the process of de-snaking the nearly identical Serpent kit and your careful description has been very helpful. I must agree that its a surprisingly great kit and something I wouldn't normally associate with Pyro / Lindberg. Your good quality photos are a pleasure to study - love the detailing on the brake plates. I have a feeling we're in the same age bracket and your experience shows. So does your brother still build?
-
I remember building these when I was young and you've done such a nice job - you must have worked eight days a week (not to mention a hard days night) to finish them.
-
Great looking wheels are a perfect match for this subject.

Love those painted wheels and dog dish hubcaps - you made some nice changes and produced a sharp build.
