  1. Ive shown both of these before. The ratty roadster is a favorite because it was the most modified model I completed since returning to the hobby in 2007. The coupe is a pride and joy because I love the vintage style and it has NO mistakes, at least that one can see!
  2. Right now its between 4.35 and 4.59 for regular in my town. I dont get this. When the news reports prices, the one and only place in the US that is higher is Hawaii. I live in this stupid bubble, my home town defys all reason and comparison with the rest of the country. I've seen the grocery store prices rise sometimes as much a 400%. One item I purchased regularly for 4.99 on sale is now 12.99. Last time I went to Michaels, the Revell 34 Ford snap kit was $24.99. Despite what the politco's say, I think its gonna get taken out of our pockets no mater what. I can deal with 4.35 a gallon gas because I drive only 2000 miles a year, but each and every company that has transportation costs will see increases, and then pass them onto us. I would not be surprised to see $30 or $35 dollar kits the norm, already my LHS has priced Tamiya paint at $10 or more...O, wait, they went out of business! Hope springs eternal!
  3. Hey Dave, all's well! I've gotten sorta particular in my old age, and a taste grumpy at times Like you said, a bit of heat makes the soup tastier!
  4. Good point Dave! Perhaps I get "vintage" " nostalgic" and "nostalgia" confused. But when I see a low slung pro-mod-ish, tubbed car with a radically altered fiberglass or carbon shell, it screams " current" vs vintage. Personally I do not like the nostalgia gassers, but love the old vintage stuff. Maybe the Doc should have clarified the topic vintage vs nostagia vs nostalgic! I lost the pic I posted, but heres another with the headlights! Are we like, piccyunish with the particulars? Sheesh!
  5. Gasser: stock frame, stock wheelbase, ride height level tho can be raised, certain functional street equipment, headlights, taillights, grille and radiator, self starting, NO wire wheels, bla bla bla. See here: http://gassermadness...php?topic=190.0 A "nostalgia" gasser with tubs and a pro mod motor is about as close to a "real" nostalgic gasser as a "nostalgic" FED is to a vintage rail. This is a vintage rail, IMHO the most beautiful dragster ever, not to outshine the Magicar. The Magicar, and my avatar: This is a nostalgia rail. If you cant tell the difference you need to be building tuners. Pardon me for the attitude.
  6. Wow, John, that brought a smile to my face! fantastic job. Now you need to sculpt the "Goose"!
  7. I think Matt's correct. Looking at Mikes model, the side windows are at least a couple scale inches lower than the bottom of the windshield. Looking at this example, you can see that the side windows appear to line up perfectly with the windshield. Also ck out the stocker....the side windows appear to be a slight bit narrower at the front. Perhaps the Revell chop isnt that far off. That being said, I dig what youre doing to this one MIke!
  8. I found it! I was bidding on this at ebay but it got a bit too rich for me. Advertised as the ala rat, or ala roadster, I forget. I bought an Ala Kart junkyard to make one something like this.
  9. I dont have the kit, but the 58 contains some beautiful chrome steelies.
  10. Here's another one built by Ira. Also, someone did a sort of ratty one that was fenderless. Cant find the pic of it though.
  11. Me thinks the term "nostalgia" and "gassers" refers to the 60's thru maybe 1970-ish. The advent of the Malco Gasser mustang, Fred Hurst 'Cuda, and when S-W-C started running an A/FX Mustang pretty much ended the era of traditional gassers. Malco gasser Fred Hurst, ck out the A/G 1164 on the windshield! And finally the Pebble, Pulp, and Chef Mustang A/FX
  12. Terry is totally correct!
  13. I all my mis-spent years on this planet, that it the FIRST time I have ever seen an Airflow gasser!
  14. Think I posted this before, but in my opinion the most beautiful gasser ever! Candy magenta, gold, and polished Americans........oooooooooooooooooooo!! Was supposed to be the "Mind Bender" but the guy doing the lettering got it wrong, and it instantly became a classic!
  15. Hey Tommy, I really thought you were Stone, Keith Stone!
  16. Gorgeus! Similar styles on the Birds!
  17. Im gonna have to pick up that terracruzer!
  18. Effin A, go for it! Ive got a Boso Hilux, Shatokan Celica, and GranChan Skyline still to build. I love your inspiration!
  19. Coming from you, Doc, thats quite the compliment!
  20. Anti-static-electricity-paintng-helmet? I'd like to try it just for the cool factor! !
  21. Wow, I didnt know there was AA/GS in 2012! Looks like a 37 Ford. Googled it, and thats what it is. Can you imagine what this would have done to the "normal" gassers in the late 60's?? Good grief!
  22. Uh, sorry, thats NOT a gasser, its a Pro-Mod.
