  1. i had my last cig at 1130 this morning. after almost 20 years the wife and i are quitting. told my doctor about this plan a month or so ago and he put me on wellbutrin to help with the cravings. 1 hr and 15 min. so far so good. i picked up a big bag of butterscotch disks to help. wish us luck.
  2. looks like you got all of the skills you need joe. great looking build.
  3. like a stray, quit feeding it and it will quit coming around.
  4. i just started on this in the last few weeks, does it qualify for entry?
  5. hey bruce, i've had good results with surgical tape for headliners, ive got a roll that is 3in wide made of cotton. just not the plastic type.
  6. i just tried to get in with only 3 ppl in chat and got this [#CSTART-6] The IP.Chat room limit has been reached. You will not be able to join the chat room until some users first leave.
  7. mock up pics i think i might go with this wheel and tire combo for now. started shaping in the front spoiler. the ride height has been lowered and i think thats about as low as i want to go. cowl hood is also in the works. just too basic to pic for arguments sake ill throw in airbags and a 4 link. as always comments etc... always welcomed
  8. and a little comet cleanser (make a paste with water) on a tooth brush will work wonders on the left overs.
  9. blade type?? like on the late 70's early 80's models?
  10. yep, billy. thats the one i have. rob- thats a good idea, i just need to deepen a pair for the rears.
  11. yea, this one seems to be pretty decent. just WELL ATTACHED parts to the trees.
  12. yeah, the rear will not be getting the same treatment as the sides and front. gotta say Ive seen better from amt, i was surprised the box had a label claiming "molded in white" but alas bright orangeness. the body also needs a lot of clean up. divots in the roof LF fender is higher than the hood, but is fairly even with the other panels. use a lot of caution when removing the hood from the tree, there is a potential for some real damage here. the camaro script on the deck lid seems very out of place 2/3rds of the way down the lid. most of you who know me know that these arnt really a big deal for me, but just somethings to watch out for , for others.
  13. the inspiration. i'll be using the amt kit. i need to come up with some wheels and tires though. ideas, comments, etc... welcomed
  14. hey Ben, the first coat(s) of primer which is sanded is to fill any minor blemishes in the body work. the final coat of primer is more or less a sealer. just to make the body a uniform color. the sealer coat of primer should be sanded out with 1200-1500 grit wet just to smooth out the sealer coat. again the color coats are sanded out with at least 2000 grit just to smooth out any imperfections in the color coats. just remember to not sand the last color coat before clearing. especially if the paint is a metallic or pearl. you can get away with it on a solid darker color with a good cleaning before clearing. then your first coats of clear should go on very light just a hair more than a dusting to give the rest of the clear something to hang onto, it also kinda helps seal the color coats from the heavy dose of clear in the last step. which is a nice wet coat, don't soak it but just a nice wet "shiny" coat. which you can block out with your favorite polishing kit. i didn't mean to go on like you don't know how to do this, but as more of a tutorial for those who cant. hope this helps someone. (this is only the way i do it.) and pardon my punctuation usage, i didnt pay attention in skool
  15. i'm trying to do this with only the usa-1 and wheels. i really wanted to 4 link it, but im short some "hard to get here" matierals
  16. I'm really liking the comfy also.
  17. Thanks for the heads up, i never could get an actual size in scale on these.
  18. I started out with the usa-1 monster truck kit from AMT. I ditched the monster truck wheels and tires for a set of soreal concepts 49in. Interco TRXUS MT tires on weld wheels. after modifying the leaf springs i got it down to a reasonable height. The blazer rear is scratch built from styrene and filler. once the body is ready for paint ill start building a decent power plant. comments and opinions welcomed!
  19. i remember getting a pair of funny cars in separate boxes. 1 was red or orange and the other was blue. i was like 9 or 10. i seem to remember they were larger than 24th or 25th maybe 20th scale, they had extended 'chutes that were plastic that needed to be strung with the included string/cord. i never saw another one like it. if anyone has a clue which kit/s these were please let me know. i never did fully build either kit, i remember using the chutes for gi joes.
  20. nice start Joe, just dont forget to put your full name in your sig line, as the rules require. if you want i can do one similar to mine for you.
  21. Thanks Bruce! Its something i haven't seen yet, so i thought i'd give it a go. the piping has been the hardest part so far.
