  1. here is another one thats been kicking around on the bench. built mostly box stock so far with minor adjustments here and there. rear tires are the really soft mickeys from the willys kit. kit 429 w/some resin carbs who woulda belived, an hour ago this car was silver. still need to finish color sand and clearing. comments more than welcome.
  2. i bought one of the pigma pens yesterday, hopefully it works better then the zig milleniums ive been buying. after a couple of uses they are dead. not out of ink but just wont write on anything at all.
  3. i use the vl as well. i like it alot, ive had it for years. maybe one day ill upgrade to a gravity feed but the budget isnt there for it right now. their compressor isnt for me though, not enough constant pressure. you would be best off to use a compressor with a tank on it and a regulator and a water trap. all shot with the vl. another item to consider when buying an airbrush, parts interchangability/availability. alot of airbrush parts are propritary, meaning they only fit that particular model/brand. make sure you can get the parts when you need them. seals, tips & needles all wear out and if you cant get new ones you now have an expensive way to hold down the instructions for your next build.
  4. i like the way it improves handling. if i get 2 is that like double the power??
  5. i like the yellow, it lends an updated touch to 1 sweet ride.
  6. if it wasnt for the last pic on the display base, i was ready to vote real. nice work harry!
  7. http://www.tcpglobal.com/solverindex.html hi neil, this wont help with your immediate question but will help as you get more into painting and detailing.
  8. and the rest of it.
  9. hood before and after.
  10. thats what makes it an advanced kit. you gotta do the bodywork first.
  11. which part of cleveland? i moved from old brooklyn to illinois 3 yrs ago. get ahold of tom kren on this board, he is also a clevelander. good luck!
  12. thats awesome! i wish we still had access to a drag slot track. what kinda times you runnin'?
  13. well, ive got the hood sorted for the most part. ill do a side by side comparo of what i started with and what i have now. just waiting on the batts in the camera to finish charging. i also got the body back into shape, thanks to vw dave. started the cage work too. (sorry for the lack of capitalization im 1 handed here.) pics in a bit.
  14. thats a great build!! makes me want to dig mine out and work on it.
  15. OK I'm back. ###### ER doctors, didn't tell me it was broken too. they sent me out with a band-aid and some gauze over 10 stitches. today they cut it back open and repaired the tendons.(yeah 2 of them) with 22 new stitches (not incl. the 3 in the tendons) and put me in a splint almost to the elbow. when you cant feel it, its kinda cool to see the tendons and muscles doing their thing. good news is i get to go back to work on Wednesday.
  16. car accident i was asleep in the back of the g6 going down the highway, sister-inlaw driving, when we were sideswiped by a drunk i would guess? he didnt stop. i had my hand on the side of the seat between the b pilar when we got hit. i was the only injury besides the car.
  17. thanks guys! i was just looking over the paperwork the hospital gave me and in the special instructions it say i have to be at the surgeons at 9 am. normally they suggest you follow up w/ dr. so and so. but this says i already have an appt. for definate repair. that kinda scares me. i wonder how bad it really is?
  18. As some of you know , i crushed the index finger of my left hand. Well now that its all healed and feeling good, i ended up injuring the top of my left hand and pinky finger. Chopped it open down to the tendons and also got part of the tendon that lets you extend your finger out all the way. So here i sit again one handed, at least the thumb and index finger work, so i can still grip/grab things left handed. Damaged tendons hurt! all the way to my elbow depending how i move it. So it looks as if ill be building in super slo-mo again.
  19. Very Cool builds! and welcome.
  20. got the parts to fix it, we are back in business!
  21. very cool Jim! is that scratched or a kit?
  22. ditto it is very familiar to me too for some reason.
  23. theres already too many nuts hanging out around here as it is.
  24. Holy shoehorn, batman!! Very cool build. do you have a dremel tool? if so you can take a pointed stone to the tops of those stacks and it should clean them up quite nicely.
