  1. here is what I have come up with as far as lay out of the flames . when starting, start from the back and work forward. the mantra being skinny "s" little "c" if you are drawing it,the tips should be red then orange then yellow then white for that traditional look. for areas like the hood a template should be made placed on your masking medium and folded in half so you can duplicate both sides .that is about all I have for now like I said I am getting ready to start the experimentation but this is where I am starting.
  2. Hi Steve ,Zed showed how he did his panel paint job on the second page of the mild 58 custom .I found it very helpful just to see how he approached that style of custom paint as that is the style I am looking to attempt . the flames however have not been covered in a manner that is as easy to digest .
  3. I have the basics down but could use some pointers or advice to minimize rookie mistakes .I finally figured out how to draw flames and am ready to attempt on some practice bodies .I am aware of Zed's tutorial and learned a lot from it but I know there is more than one way to skin a cat and would like to hear more suggestions.
  4. I don't know how to insert a link so this is for drag slot builder

  7. thank you. Is it the custom or stock wheel cover?leave it to me to find a part I want to use in one of those really hard(read expensive) to find kits.
  8. Does anyone know where these wheel covers came from and the other piece what is it and where did it come from.
  9. I always love your models !
  10. try the ship section in your local hobby store. or the jewelry aisle at your local craft store .or just a cheap jewelry section at a drug store
  11. one way would be to use paint that has been thinned down alot get some on a brush and carefully apply at a corner let cappilary action do the work for you wipe away excess paint right away it will take some practice but a little patience should get good results in no time. there are other methods but this one should be a good starting point. one more thing to consider some recommend using the same color as the body that has been darkened with black.
  12. I haven't seen a nicer looking donk. great paint job . I love the colors .as far as the wheels go, again, great look for a donk . I commend you for finishing a model and posting pictures of it ,which is more than I've done in awhile . I would love to see more .
  13. Art stole my thunder I was going to say the same thing
  14. Ross Gibson makes some fine hemis.pegasus makes some nice rims .without knowing what you want specifically it's hard to tell you where to look .I'm sure however that some of the folks that are over there across the pond can help you a little more than I could.

  16. I like how you extended the rear fenders looks cool!

  21. for the interior colors I think some of the model master engine colors might get you close not correct but close .
  22. So sorry for your loss ,hang in there .
  23. drill holes in the frame rails insert small plastic rod and glue together . alternatively you can try cutting a straight cut in the middle of the frame rails and use plastic strips to strengthen (it should look like a plus sign when veiwing from the side)
  24. Looks cool ,and fun. Nice to know a mustang chassis will fit with a little trimming.
  25. I think the truck, which is a phantom body ,scales out a little larger than 1/32 but is not quite 1/25th. however the project I'm working on is sposed to be 1/25th. I found the right sized tires in an italeri kit rims will be the stock rims shoved inside some pegasus sleeves it looks perfect for the project. thanks everyone for the suggestions .I appreciate the help.
