  1. Thanks for the tip. I used to use alclad all the time, but I did not like it when it came off on your fingers. One of my buddies’s told me a long time ago to used Future floor wax, I thought he was crazy, but I guess he wasn't. I am going to give it a try today thanks again for the assurance.
  2. That's good news Terry glad you found something with a decent price. You got to have that place to rest your head. I used to drive up to the Nnl west in Santa Clara around 12 midnight get there at 6am the next morning, rest in my car for an hr, go to the show, leave the show around 4pm, get a bite to eat then jump back on the freeway home. Never again will I pull them all righter’s. It's good having a cousin who works for the Hampton Inn and another who works for the Marriot. No more all niters.
  3. locoengr they are as old as me and older. There are afew more things that are real old too. He brought back a few items from WWII when he was there. Nothing of his will be given away or traded, I will keep them for as long as I can. Mustanglover I hate when someone other then the family who does not care a bit of what it is, just keeps someone's stuff just to be a bitch. James this magazine has over 40 page's of good old how to's and kit's I have never seen before. It has a bunch of slot cars finals. It's too much to load up right now, but I will soon. Thanks again guys for looking, I hope it brought back some good memories for you all.
  4. Some of you older model builder's will love this, Might even remember it.
  5. Well it's been a few years since my dad'a passing, so I decided to got throught a few of his box's. I know some might not be model related but the last one is. All the stuff I found is all original paper back along with hard copy of the Presedent Kennnedy. and a model car magazine from 1965 called car model.
  6. They only give us 1 room at that rate for team travel, but they still got some good rate's there. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
  7. We are staying at the fairfeild Hampton IIn and are paying $29 a night. We get the Employee rate. Its not to far away from the show. you might want to call them to see if they got any room open. It's off 118-124 route 46 the number is 973-575-5777
  8. Thank you Mike. We will have a good time again this year. That's what is going to keep us going back along with a good model show. I will make sure I take my Lakers Jersey too.
  9. Me Santiago and Chris will be there. We will be doing 4,898 miles round trip. We are staying at the the Hampton IIN.
  10. X-2 I get enough flack as it is just for being these two things. Don't judge me, Cause I will never judge you. But I have lost a few so called good friend's due to my beliefs.
  11. What I do is mix the HOK candy or any HOK paint that I use with SG-100 Intercoat Clear then you won’t ever have any paint lifting or bleeding through. When you put just a candy with nothing over it to protect it, it's rough and some times not even the bare-metal foil will stick and paint will get under the tape, Thats when you get your paint lifting. Get the Intercoat clear 50% of your mix then add 20% candy concentrate or paint to your liking then the final 50% reducer so it would be a total mix of 120 and that should solve your problems. Dry time is only a few hrs between taping instead of day’s. Intercoat clear is your friend. It has saved me a bunch of head aches. When I do the flame paint jobs that's the method I use. It's dry to the touch in Minutes.
  12. Hahahah very funny. I am still going to take some memento"s for the road. So make sure you tell them to bolt everything down, that they don't wan't to lose. Oh and I might even take that cute bartender they had there last year if she is still there. She is much better looking then Tom or Bob.
  13. I am building a full show 67 impala everything will open full mural on the body working suspension, I just put in a big order from R&B motion for 400.00 worth of nuts, bolts and a few other goodies.
  14. I guess I can’t complain. I have been in the magazine more then a few dozen times. I don’t have a problem with other types of models being in the magazine, as a matter of fact I just read right passed it. Kind of like if I don’t like the song or movie, change the channel. But I do know what you are saying. And I do believe you have a good case. I have never seen an automobile in a train or military magazine, let alone a few pages’ worth. But like my new president says it’s time for change. We used to be the outcast before, us low rider builders and I never let it get to me. I just said whatever and kept on building them. Then before you know it we started making the magazines. A lot of other type of car builders took ideas from the low rider/ led sleds and applied it to there build’s, just like I took some of my weathering skills from a train builder long ago. Moral of the story is, there is always something to learn from each other no matter what we build. Thanks Anthony Rios.
  15. Looking good My friend. this is going to be a nice build when done I would glue the front hood and side's down, smooth them out then pancake the hood. But that's just me.
  16. You guys where real lucky some people are not. Good thing you had them smoke detectors around the house. I have a smoke detector in each room and a surge protector outlet in each room too. Most of the time they are a nuisance always tripping and just a pain in the butt when you have to reset them cause the blow drier or toaster tripped them. But they are there for a reason. I would rather keep re-setting them then lose all my belongings or even my house in a fire. Just glad to hear you guys are ok.
  17. I picked me up a JUN-AIR compressor from one of my buddy’s. It is the one's they used in dental offices. The only way I can tell it's on, is by looking at the green light indicator it has. It is 3 or 4 time quieter then the refrigerator, so now I will never have that dam compressor come on and scare the #### out of me again.
  18. While sitting alone at your work bench, with no one around to bother you, lost in deep thought. Blaaam the air compressor kicks on and scare’s the living ###### out of you. It has happen to me more then once. And I know it has happened to you. That’s why I bought my new quiet compressor.
  19. I used to have one of those big welding tank and filled it once a month with compressed air. Until I bought my self a jun-air compressor from one of my buddy’s who owns a dental office. They where doing an up grade on his building so he let one go cheap, I paid $300 for a $1,300 compressor. The only way you can tell its working and pumping air is the green light goes on. Believe me I used to have them big old compressors that went on while I was doing work late night in my shop by myself and scared the living ###### out of me. I know most of you guy’s had that happen to you.
  20. It's an old school heated eyelash curler.
  21. IM JUST MESSING WITH YOU HARRY MY BROTHER. I WAS JUST WAITING FOR YOU TO SAY SOMETHING. I GOT MOST OF HIS SONG'S ON MY IPOD, I SAY AROUND 30 OF HIS BEST.
  22. Must be family safe, and it can't be a Bruce Springsteen song cause they said it must be good. Well, I will give you 2 of my all time best. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf8_niWYYN0...feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld7pZhjA7So
  23. I might do one primo. Let me get my hands on one. I would have to do a lot of upgrades to make it more aerodynamic and more modern looking. And a mural of the last supper would be a nice mural. Even thou I am atheist. But it would be something to think about. And thanks for the complement Primo.
