  1. Thank for all the props and extra tips guy's they will come in handy. It was my first time too. I think after a few more try's I will get the hang of it. atenzapower they are easier then you think bro. on these I used HOK chrome yellow, HOK candy organic green and HOK candy aztec gold. the yellow was mixed 50/50 the candy green was mixed 20% candy/50% HOK Intercoat clear/%50 reducer. Do the same with the aztec gold but add 20% green to it also so it will be the same color just a bit darker. The stencil was cut from a sheet of thin styrene, I just cut alot of tear drops all size's. on the first pic you just lay the flames on with the yellow ass you like and on the second pic is where you use the stencile to make the sharp cut's. If you messs up with a lil overspray it's all good the candy hide's most of that. then you lay the green to your likeing then follow that with the aztec gold.
  2. Well first off we had a good meeting at Pegasus tonight. A lot of the fellas showed up. One of the homie's Russ showed up and had a how-to on true Flames. This is something I have never done before and wanted to do. So before I left Pegasus I picked uo some paint's that I needed to attempt the flames. This is what I came up with at my first try. Let me know what you think.
  3. Ask your girl how come she has so many shoes, or purses Etc, Etc. she will never give you a straight answer. That’s just something you don’t ask a man about something he loves to do, even if it’s in fun. I got questioned one time but never again. She asked the same question your girl asked you. Remember I didn't have to give her an answer because it was really none of her business what I did with my money. I work hard for what I have and should be able to buy what I want without being questioned as long as all the bills where paid. I am the alpha male in the house and she has to be reminded of that once and a while. The reason I had so much models back then was because they where on sale, got a good deal from a buddy, knew they where not going to be stocking them anymore and the list goes on, it was just something I love to do. You owe no one any explanation; they are not your mom or dad. But once you do it, they will hound you all the time. Women are never happy and will find anything to bitch about when you are taking your money and buying plastic toys when it should be spent on them. Yeah right. I could be a druggie, spend all my money in a strip club, and have a gambling problem but no I am in my room building models minding my own business and they will still have something stupid to say. But that’s just my 2 cents. Anthony
  4. A brother I just call it like I see it. The average builder would of not cought or even messed with it. tu save's.
  5. JUst got home from work, now I can see them . I guess it was my work computer that didn't allow me to view the pic's. Looking good Renato, that Monte is going to be one bad ass ride when done. keep up the good work my brother.
  6. It look's like it's going to be a good project Marcos. if any one can knock out the kinks in this car it is you my friend. good luck on this build. Tu Amigo Anthony Rios
  7. I found this pic of my build behind a pic in our family photo album. On the back it say's Tony's models 1974. I used o-rings for tires and marker for patterns. I was 9 at the time of this pic but I know I did some a few years earlier.
  8. Here is my favorite. It's my 1957 chevy bel-air. ( SCARFACE ) 2007 Nnl West winner.
  9. Well last night me and some online buddy’s had a 24 hr build off. Even thoe I only used 3 of the 24 hr given to build my ride it was just the pushing of each other and trying to make the deadline with nothing to prove that made it all fun. We all know what we are capable of building but it seemed more fun building out the box running in and out of the house to the shop and back to the building room, posting progress pics as we went along. Most of my build take anywhere from a few month’s to a year to build. So having a little fun like we did reminds me of what drew me to this hobby in the first place. I almost forgot how much fun model building the way you want was and should be. Who care’s if the pulleys or the shifter are not on in the proper angel? This was my build and I did it my way. So if you haven’t tried it, you should. This is just my two cent's. Anthony Rios. AKA MR BIGGS
  10. I got mine yesterday, nice group photo. hahahaha very funny Gregg.
  11. Well Dave it look's like you are going to need more space in your work area, so you can send me all them nice rids in those display case's to make room for the next masterpieces on your bench. Good luck on the 34's they look like some nice project's.
  12. Thanks my brother. It was nice meeting you and all the other fellas from the east coast too. I can't wait to go back next year. You got some very clean build yourself. Take care and have a good new Year Bill.
  13. ratpac I might put the 426 in her. I just picked up some nice aluminum jps rims for that build. can't wait to see your's done I know it's going to look sweet as a gasser. Im going to keep mine street. Ed thanks for them complement's you don't know how much that means to me coming from another modeler. I will keep building and makig myself better for as long as I can. phantomw thank's. that is my fovorite build too. It took alot out of me to build that Rig. And a few month's to recoupe. This was also one of my favorite mopar builds. It's a 1969 Roadrunner blk on blk with a 426 HEMI in it. It also has jps wheels dagger shifter and working suspension.
  14. A few guys where telling other guys at the show that my murals on the Rig where decal. This is for them, here you go guy's you know who you are.
  15. Here are a few of my merc's im working on. I got all the main fab work done, just cant decide on what color im going with these. And here is my custom 32 whatumacallit. I wasn't going to chop the top but i said what the hell and did it anyway. BEFORE THE CHOP. AFTER THE CHOP. I THINK IT LOOKS MUCH BETTER NOW. THANK'S FOR LOOKING GUY'S.
  16. I didn't get anything this year, I am usualy the giver every year. what I did get myself was the new Blackberry Bold, I also got my Cadillac back from the body shop and just in time for the new year. and my only wish wasn't for world peace nore for all of us to get out of this slup, It was for my Lakers to beat them Boston Celtics. Job well done Boys. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
  17. X-2 what Ed said. I put primer on every raw plastic surface no matter what. When you get into the type of paint jobs and fab work that I get in to, you need primer. I have had some buddy's who don't use primer, when they did a two stage paint job and lifted the tap the paint came right with it.
  18. Is it too lat to enter, I just finished 2 good contestants. If not Oh well maybe next year. Good luck guys.
  19. I had a hand in making and Designing the new Testors paints and they will work fine on any plastic. Even most of the new automotive paint have been toned down, I remember back in the day the automotive paint would melt the plastic if you layed it on to thick.
  20. Try this place , this is where i get most of my decals from and never had a problem with them falling apart. http://www.slixx.com/catalog.htm Good luck.
  21. The window screen I think is a bit to big. go to your local Target or Walmart and go into the pot's and pan area, pick up the splatter sheild that you put on top of the small pan so the grease won't get all over the place. those are real nice and are stainless steel. U can get alot of just one. I got one for around 6 buck's.
