I also thought that I had posted this. It's an old build, a Z/28 converted into as SS396. A build up of the Monogram kit, although not quite as nice as Hawks. [url=http://s25.photobucket.com/user/Likittysplit/media/Models2008028.jpg.html][/u

Marcos this is another home run from you. I've been away for too long and I want to get back into this and to get to see you guys again, I just need to get a little more stability in my life. I miss you guys.

I got the June issue today and read the review first thing. Great job on this kit, you've made an outstanding example! (As usual...!)

Marcos this build is most outstanding! I have a couple of these kits in my stash, but there is no real way I could top this. And that award is very hard to achieve... Ask me how I know! Way to go, man!

I'm looking for Chuck Conner. Chuck, I think I see you driving the kids home from school every so often,,, If you see this give me a shout, I'm gradually getting back into this hobby. Maybe Lyle can help,

Antiques Roadshow tonight
John E. Bowers Jr. replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Agreed. I set aside the hour to watch this out of curiousity. I think we all know the real collector value in todays economy would be less than $100.00 US dollars. It was a let down though that we were not able to see an 'outside' appraisers opinion of the retail, or auction value of this kit. -
Revell 1/12 Shelby GT350
John E. Bowers Jr. replied to Hawk312's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
What he said! I've wanted this Mustang kit for a while, but at this point it would land too far on the back burner for me to give it any attention right now. Hawk, I beleive you could make this kit into an incredibly, shockingly, beautiful showstopper. Do it up, man! -
Myself, I haven't touched a piece of styrene in over a year. That's not too unusual for me though. I've not quit, but rather I'm working with some other projects of interest. I'll get back to the bench in due time... It's not going to leave me.

Testors enamel cleaner question?
John E. Bowers Jr. replied to CEKPETHO BCE's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Bob, I'm not a 'pro' by any stretch of the imagination and I use Testors Model Master enamels exclusevly simply because that's where my knowldge has taken me. I thin my airbrush mixes with lacquer thinner and get more than satisfactory results. Even rarely, when I brush or wash I thin with lacquer thinner. None of it takes weeks to cure out to a nice hard finish. I guess, in a nutshell, what I'm saying is that I have no use for the Testors thinners or any minreal spirits based chemicals. -
Lyle, once again... Over the top! This is not quite the kind of custom that I was encouraged to embrace as a kid growing up in the era that I did so that's what I try to re-create, but I've always had a sweet spot for this type of cruiser. It had to be special to me, and this one really is. Freakin' great job , man!
