  1. Just a quick build to get something new on my shelf. Yeah right....I started it last fall........... now 3 different paint jobs(green, then brown, finally blue) and two soakings in CSC and it finally came out O.K. It's a Heller 1/43 kit, right out of the box, easy little kits of some obscure vehicles. I got several of them in a discount bin a few years ago for a couple bucks each, I mess with these while waiting for things to dry on bigger projects. Oh yeah....I need to make license plates for it and it's missing the mirrors, one hit the floor and went under the bench as I was installing it, DOH!, faulty tweezers. I'll install it if I ever find it, it's got to be down there somewhere....right? Oh, how about this for a topic................. "Under the Bench" .......set your camera on the floor and click away. Anyway...... Thanks for lookin'
  2. Very nice and clean build. I've always liked these Jags.
  3. That does look good. What did you use for paint/clear?
  4. Absolutely beautiful and correct build, the underhood hoses look very nice. I've worked on a few 1:1 250TR's, and this one looks like it's about ready for Pebble Beach.................please post finished pics, thanks
  5. Finally, almost finished the interior, just a few minor details to go. I sprayed vinyl dye through my airbrush for the red and white, and brush painted the rest with Model Master enamels. Carpet is a couple reds from Fuzzy Fur mixed together. I robbed the steering wheel and column from my MK Bronco kit, the one that came in the promo is no where near correct. The body is getting repainted in the next couple of days due to not enough paint, and too much wet sanding, DOH!! And since I got your Mustang II attention, does anyone know if you could get the rear window louvers on a Mach I from the factory? If so, were they included in any kits? That's all, thanks for lookin.
  6. I don't have a pic of that sweet cougar, but I have a color slide of the bumper jack from the Levi's Denimachine if your interested. LMK and I'll send it out to you .......................................................HAAAAAHAAAAA Good to see ya here. Try posting this in the wanted section too, might get more views over there.......
  7. Just had to brag about this one, finally get a good find, and I didn't even get to find it, but this'll work just as good. I work 3rd shift and I went to bed around noon the other day, the Wife and our 4 year old daughter were going thrift store shopping. Well, I told my daughter to find models for me. On the way out of one store she spied these................................... in an out of the way spot(not by toys) and stopped my wife for the models. Thanks baby!!! Imagine my surprise when I woke up around 6 p.m. and these were the first things I saw. Awesome. and the price?....$4 a kit, all parts are there, some are missing instructions but who uses those anyway.
  8. It's not your server................it's the 1/3 page ad for Dremel bits(or whatever they are)that is blocking your view
  9. Here's my latest factory stock curbside project............... This is what I started with:MPC 1975 Mustang Mach I promo Here it's disassembled and stripped............now it's a basic kit Factory stock Ford forged aluminum wheels. Torinobradley found these in his parts box, Thanks man, for speaking up and getting these out to me. The tires are Polyglass GT's from Scale Equipment. Fresh outta the spray booth. Ford dark red lacquer, no clear. The paint blushed during the last coat, I think my basement might be a bit cold and/or the paint was too warm, and I'm pretty sure I rushed the last coat, I usually do. I'll see how it polishes out and decide if it needs a couple more coats. Thats all for now.......next post might include: the red and white sprayed on the interior, body polished, flat black accents sprayed on lowers/tailpanel and Alclad on the wheels..........Thanks for stoppin' by
  10. I'll add............. Steve Miller- Mercury Blues ZZ TOP-Chevrolet And you gotta play Hot Rod Lincoln at least a couple times
  11. ALL three are looking good. Here is how our clubs 09 TA builds turned out. These were finished in April 07 as a club build. I did a few post's on these, TA Eric checked them out. OK guys, let's see yours finished up now
  12. I doesn't bother me paying $20 bucks if it get's us kits like the Mustang,Charger, and upcoming Nova. It's the 5x reissued kits I won't pay that much for. Everything has gone up in price, kit makers are just following suit.
  13. I got some at the fabric store a few years ago, haven't used it yet though, seems like the rolls of narrow(2-4 inches wide) lace had smaller patterns. You might also check dollhouse stuff, and wedding supplies.
  14. I tried with Mozilla for a few minutes, got frustrated and gave up. I'll try again later. From the way it sounds, this completes the selling out of SAE to corporate--oh yeah it's SA now....I forgot they dropped the enthusiast.
  15. That looks great slammed. I've had one of those kits for years, now I know what to do with it. Thanx
  16. And no matter which body, you gotta love that vinyl top.
  17. How about this one. I took the pics at my local Hobbytown model contest last Saturday. Nice model, I hovered around this for quite a while and then kept coming back for another look.
  18. Thanks for the good words everyone. The wheels actually came on the promo originally, I just painted them up and added SEL tires and lettering decals. I also have a set of the Machine wheels cast by Time Machine Resin, which look identical to those on the model, they sell the later 70's "rallye" style wheels too. I was fully expecting to have to repaint that shift nob several times, but I got it on the first try with some thinned Model Master semi-gloss white, a long thin brush, and a bunch of luck. BTW Gregg, feel free to stop by at our dio(or whatever we club build) and say Hi, if you go to next years Milwaukee NNL. See ya.
  19. A little off subject matter , but Time Machine Resins recommends a soap and water wash. I soaked 5 sets of their wheels in Westleys, all were fine but one, which turned into Silly Putty. It's still soft 8 months later. He did replace the whole set for free though, good people over there. BTW Chris, Is this the look you are going for? I had planned a blue with white convertible to go alongside this but it hasn't happened yet. Please, please, please, post pics of yours when it's done.
  20. Just finished this up last weekend. 1971 Javelin AMX ,built from an old Jo-Han promo. electric blue poly lacquer with Fred Cady Decals. I made the vinyl top(s) with Evergreen strips for the trim and sprayed Model Master semi gloss white, barely thinned, through my airbrush from a distance for the vinyl area. The kit interior is pretty basic, I two toned it and then flocked it. The dash was actually nicely molded and detailed, and was fairly easy to detail paint. Chrome-Tech did a nice job re-chroming the bumpers also. That's all on this one. And one with the 73 I was building alongside it, I'll post more when I can find time to finish it up. Thanks for stoppin' by. Feel free to comment and question.
  21. We're almost done. These are from our build meet last Tuesday night, last one. Final plotting of figures and vehicles was decided. Some individual projects had final details that needed to be wrapped up, hopefully by tomorrow at 2 pm, that is when we set-up at the show. I'll post a bunch more pics after we set-up outside this summer, natural sunlight adds so much more to the pics. Well, I'm off to the basement to finish my projects. Thanks for following along.
  22. I can hardly wait till the end of May. Thanks for posting this. I will be following closely.
  23. Very cool!!!! Thanks for showing us. Now to find them........... somewhere.
  24. Next Saturday, April 19th at the Excellence Center in Waukesha. Sorry, I don't know the street address or exact times, I do know it ends at 9 or 10 P.M. though. That's all the help I can be.
