Yer right 'bout these not being the easiest to work with-- porbly the worst part is dat big ol' frame being kinda warped-- but dats right up my alley! Wouldn't mind seein a pic of yer 3 window if'n it's possible-- long as it aint painted no pinky color! Mines pinky gots 3 screws init now-- don't think I can handle any more pain at the moment-- (dont know if'n doc checked any my other screws ta see if'n any them be loose )
  5. Good one Led! an' not toofars form da truth! Wounded up nailin' dat nailpolishy stuff in the purpley pond coz I just couldn't seem to get the hang of shootin' it thru me airbrush, evevn tho' good ol; Fletch were doin' his best to insturct me--guess I's just too fer anyting what don't shake. rattle, & roll , so I jest hadta revert back to the autobody section at Trader Horn & buyed me a couple dem rattly cans of some Mopar Maroony lookin' squirts. Had me a time trying to get the Chebby sheetmetals back to bare plastics-- the Ford color I done sprayed on it as a base coats fer the maroony color jest wouldn't come off copletely.....and boy I sure didin't be wantin' everbodys to be knowin' dat i done put Ford colors on me Chebby Here she am with dat Merky Platinummy stuff still hangin' on, all cleaned up, but still ugly. The time in the purpley pond took all the nail polishies off, and some of the clear I had squirted over top of this here platinummy, but it were tkin' mucho too long than me patients could bear, so I done did some sandys to her, but took it as another lessson learned and got some regular ol silvers on soon as I could. Even then more evidence of me screwsup as It were gonna need a whole lots more sandys to competely gets the areas 'tweens the platinummy & the primer smoothied-- just got to the point where I just wanted to get 'er done an get backs to bein' SKWIRRELY . I's beened postin' more over on FOCM what Fletch started back at Easter, and there be 4 pages of my trying to gets this here Bowtie builded up startin' here:http://focm.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=...thread=136#1238 Alsos, 4 or 5 pages o' WIP pix in me Fotki here:http://public.fotki.com/V866/70s-era-50-chevy-pu/ Gotta go get me some dem fumes now, coz I's gettin' surgy on me brokened pinky tomorrows & I gots to be fasting after midnights tonites......so I gots to have enuffs to see me thru
  6. beened slowly butt surely gettin' some done on this here Bowtie ... had abit of a setback 'bout a week ago when I done broked my left pinky-- kinda hard to do any gloopin' of them small parts with a big honkin' cast surrounding yer one hand ... bit I beened tryin and here's where we be at the moment Thrashed the interior togethers bone stocks 'ceptin fer a big floor shifter Had me good fun plumbin' this here small (?) blok outa some custom 57 Chevy stepsider, but when I added the genermanator & fan blades it wouldn't fit! ...so it's headin' curbside Sun came out the other day fer a spell, so's I took 'er out fer a li'l shoot. Noticed them Cragars aint showin' up real goodly in the photos, so.... ...I done slopped some diluted India ink on 'em.... ...and methinks they lookin' mucho beters now
  7. Yep George, quite a beauty aint she.......and Deb is AWESOME! she got 2cd in her age group with a time of 29:03--and even stooped down, without missing a step to pick up $7 that someone dropped!!
  8. Very classy lookin' and yet very cool-- maybe too cool for a Chebby? ... Nice, Dave, I likes lookin' at it too
  9. was shooting my girlfriend-- uh, maybe I should rephrase that -- was shooting pics of my girlfriend while she was running a 5k race this morning and found this gem
  10. From the end of June, when CruisaPalooza comes to town and shuts it all down with 400 some cars lining Main St and some of the side streets as well. This here li'l cutey is the Bantam, which Butler is known for. It was something they were working on for the gov't when they were needing some sorta jeep vehickle for the military. One of my faves, this ol' Chevy One of my mostest faves-- this here Hudson Terraplane This pic, and ones below, are from the Butler Memorial Park Freedom Celebration on the 4th of July. About 100 cars in the llittle community park. A lot from The Rodfathers. Loved the proportions on this here woody. Guy had to cut 18" outa the surfboard so's he could see traffic lights ah yes......... Not sure why the parts were labeled on this here Chevy PD Here's the clinker to 80some pics from the two shows: http://public.fotki.com/V866/car-cruisemodel-pix/ Enjoy!
  11. Looks great Neal! Love what you did with that 4banger.......and that old couch & driver just make it
  12. Got some old Popular Sciences at the flea market. Saw this in the January '65 issue. link to the full size scan on me Fotki: http://images49.fotki.com/v1510/fileqF8B/5...5409Chevyad.jpg
  13. Did the flea market thing this Sunday past, and picked up 6 old Popular Science magazines. Was on the throne leafin' thru 'em and came across this. Might be some good reference pix fer some Here's clinkers to the full size scans so you can read all the cool details: http://images49.fotki.com/v1504/fileagxt/5...ularScience.jpg http://images50.fotki.com/v1527/filex0wZ/5...dupjalopies.jpg
  14. I've always liked the lines of this here Pony, even stock. Looks really cool, low like you gots it, and them rolled pans gonna make it even mo' sweeter . Yeah, keep us posted
  15. T'anks Dave. Didn't really think of that -- clear-coatin' before the nail biting....... , but I just looked at it--(it's hidden in a room me cat can't get into) -- and it aint as shiny as it weres when it was wet, so I's gotta make a trip to me LHS for some clear..........and maybe, probably, some other stuff too!
  16. Been doing some puttying up and sanding and puttying up & sanding again on this here Chebby. Whiles waiting on the puttys to dry, figured I'd work on the powerplant a bit, and seeing them cool prewired distributors got me thinkin' I could do somthing similars....... so I drilled out the top of the disty already glued in palace, dropped a big gob of gel super dupers in and stuffed 9 #22 gauge RadShak speaker wires in there....... ...and then I dunked it in some orange juice Got a good coat of sanding primer on over top of the putty'd up etching primer. Looked goodly, so..... Used this here Ford color on me Chebby Since I plans on making the final coats some kinda black cherry color using nail polish, I figured this here platinummy silvery would be a good base color. I got it long time ago fer a 64 Mercurary, so it were handy. Gettin excited--and nervous-- 'bout squirtin' the nail bitin' final 'paint', hopin' I mixes up enuff and me airbrush works ok.
  17. I agree with everone else Bernard-- stick a fork in it-- it's done! ...and lookin' SWEET!
  18. Finally got some time to do some bodywork on the '50. Decided to sand the areas down where the cab & fender fillers are before sloppin' a buncha putty on 'em-- see how it looks first. Lots of mold marks what needed offed, so wound up spendin' a lot more time sanding than I thought. Covered up areas I didn't want sanded so's I could sand the areas needing sanded without worrying 'bout taking stock off them other areas. Using a cut down nail filing ememry board here on them fender filler inners Squirted some satin undercoating underneath Had some of this etching primer left so I figured I'd see what it'd look like It done did what it done did before when I got excited and started puttin' it on heavy So here's where we is now. Can't wait to be gluing the body & bed down-- can't get any good pix while holding the body down. Kinda like this here look with the greeny primer, but planning on trying a nail polish paintem up, go for a dark maroon, black cherry kinda color. Wish me lucks
  19. CB

    64 Chevy Impala

Sweet! love the stance too. I'm thinking yer friend had a great birthday!
  20. Dat looks like a body part, B! This here's a model car forum, not CSI!!
  21. T'anks dude. Always did like the Cragars. Yeah, it's coming together-- the pressures on. Any progresso on yer '53 with the mean flattie?
  22. Thanks guys for the obs on the frame. I layed it out on a piece of window, and it was rockin & rollin' so I done fired up the torch (me stubby li'l candle ) and wrastled it kinda straighter...... ....li'l uglier, but straighter. Then I stuck the body & bed on to see how she sats, and had to try & secures it a bit, so put a big gumband 'roundy bouts the cab & clamped the bed down.... ......thought about towing it over to 'Under Glass', but.....since it looked a little better, I deciderd to crawl underneath & tack the front end in place...... ......and realized afresh why I aint real keen on these here OOBies, I misses me teeny li'l bolts & nuts but I got over it and soldiered on. I could see way off, them Cragars SSs weren't gonna be fittin in them skinny tires with the backy plates too, so I had to start sanding..... ...and keep sanding .......and keep sanding, and %#$@$#^!! looky thar! I done sanded 2/5ths of the Cragar hub away . So now I gotta change me story.......and I still be doing a driveway build, but I got me a set of blemished Cragars SSss fer cheap (apologies to Cragar, my favorite custom wheel of all time-- I know they would not allow a 'blemished' wheel leave the place) oooohh......dat gonna show! 'specually with the 'drum' painted black, or red, or.......just hafta not show this side, I guess. Well, anyhow, I got the rest of the Cragars thinned down safely and stuck 'em all on... ...and it's gettin' there. Now the bed looks like it's a'tiltin' the other way , but all them parts are gotta hafta be gettin all glued into position mucho betters. Already made dat change to me story that, heck, it's a 20+ year old truck fer cryin' out loudlys, and it gonna have some saggin' or warpin' goin' on with the frame Well, thar she sits.....as always, you can put Cragars on just 'bout anything & make it look good. Been thinkin' on paint, & purty much decided to try some Mopar Maroon. Me boss at the Amoco station I worked at had a '68 Charger in dat deep, dark, black cherryish maroon color, so........we shall see.
  23. Can't wait to see more pix of this here 'box, Bernard, but I know you got other Fords to work on........ Love yer new avatar, and yer siggy pix btw
  24. I was wonderin' what you was up to B! Nice li'l projeck.......very nice in fact. Love the mockup-- the two tone colours . Normally I'd go with what DaveZinn said 'bout droppin' the tail, but I really likes the nose draggin' stance dat you got goin' on. You are the 'stance-miester' afterall oh yeah, love them wrinkly windows
  25. Wow, Raul! Haven't seen this fer awhile-- it's lookin' fine! Love that agressive fowards leaning stance!
