  1. This one gonna have them flames on it? Me likes . hmmm....... just finally saw the purplish one with the flameys, and they do looks better against the purplish. That icy bluish part at the firewall might not be too groovy against the yellow--BUT! just had an idea! Wonder if'n a fella was to put the flamey decals on the yellow, and then squirt it with some candy red? Nice thin coats of the candy red, or blue, etc giving a tint to the yellow and the flameys? I might just haftsa try it meownself
  2. Hey Bruce, that old Ch-ubley came out real nice! I really like how you did the wheels & whites ! I always dreamed of building up one of the few Hubleys I had as a kid, like you did here, but back then it was more about playing with them instead of painting them. Probly didin't have the money for paint either. As I remember, they were always gifts from me parents, or someone. Maybe 20 years ago I did get me a Vicky and a pickup. Almost started on the pu, but wound up selling it or giving it away. Did build up the Vicky and painted it nicely maroon for me Mom. Going to see her tomorrow-- I'll hafta take another look at it. Like you say, tons of flash, and funny how the kit included a file for smoothing all the parts down. I don't know ifn' you're a sucker for punishment---there's just something about a Hubley Good job!
  3. Congrats on the award Rick! Can't wait to see mo' pics, coz the paint looks fine!

  5. nice lookin' kit there mate. I'll have to keep me eyeballs peeled fer one (it'll look perfect with the rest of my stash ) seriously, I don't remember seein' one of them, and yer showin all the trees........it looks like a decent builder upper. Love your step by step pics. The series with the shifter is hilarious! Good job mate!
  6. So that's what a '64 Antelope looks like! NICE
  7. sorries Dave, just can't resist some things, ya know? Can't wait to see it under glass.
  8. Beee-you-tee-full!!! I always loved the Roadmasters & thought they'd make some really cool lookin' cruisers. I'll hafta look into getting myself one of them R&R resins . Man, J! What nice work, and what a 'sleeper' this is! Be even more so, if'n them big collectors weren't sticking out behind the front widey whites . I'd hate to challenge this beauty on the street! Just black & blue goin' away---real fast!
  9. Amen to that, Dave. So cool that HE created plastic, eh? ....and gives us 'instructions' on how to buildem up 'n @ . Must be why 'you' chose the pearly white . Lookin' forward to seein' it SHINE!
  10. ah! Finally! that HEMI is lookin' GOOD! Love the colors, especially the black on the valve covers . NOW....can't wait to see it with headers !! Starting to look like a 'Monster-Mer-Rod'
  11. Looked pretty good when I seen the first two pix, and then I seen the last pic---WOW! Really good work for that size/scale. Tell yer bud to give it a shot--- the HD Museum thing. Aint got nuthin' to lose.
  12. You's got the scratchin' down Scott! Long as it looks real ......that's the best part
  13. ooohh .....only 3 wheels & tires. That's a tuff one Jody. I knows I has some Cragars, but don't know about them tires, but I'll look. That's almost sacreligious --3 Cragars!? Although things do happen. Years ago, my co-worker was selling his cherry 1:1 '57 Chevy with Cragars all around. Some kid took it for a test drive and right in front of the gas station I was working at, the hub of the Cragar (up front/passenger side) seperated from the spokes, the wheel/tire just fell sideways and the hub/drum dropped into it, and he skidded safely to a stop! Smart kid-- he wound up buying it. Oh yeah, truck is looking fine
  14. hmm......these here Skyliners look pretty cool. Nice project there Raymond, building up a model of yer 1-1. I done that with two 95 S-10 models to build a model of my 95 S-10 so's I could make it a long bed like my real 'toy' truck Man, yer lucky, yer wife lets ya build models on the couch?
  15. Lookin' good Marshall. It's comin' along. Can't wait to see dat HEMI coming together
  16. Man, Mike! with some of these here kits, and paints, 'PRAYER IS REQUIRED' oughta be on the box and part of the instructions. I'm bettin' Dave's '50 wouldn't be lookin' so fine -now- if'n he didn't do his share of prayin'. Almost looks like it just needs a good rubbin' out and that pearl gonna really shine, and then if'n you squirts some of that wet lookin' clear on it......WHOA! That bed cover gonna look really good in paint. Way to go Dave
  17. It's coming together nicely Keeps it up!
  18. I hears ya Randy, but where the hay--ell was ya last Saturday when Debbie was in her runnin' tights and lookin' sooooo fine? HUH???? Anywohs, back to gettin' the ol' SKWILRLY dude up 'n running --- UP 'N RUNNING???!! Good Lord! dats the name of the running shoe store we patronizess..........I's sunk, saves me SKWILLRYS!! I gotsa get some pix up here mebbe dat will help OK........mucho better.........ah, let's see, what we gots here? oh, yeah, we wents suffin' on das Inkernetr whiles back lookin at some pix of 1:1 racy VW engines, plannin' on runnin' wit a magneato thang, but seen us some really cool distriburtors with coilies and we likes, so's while I weres icing me legs I started fabbin' up a distributor cap fer the 4banger. Lucks fer us dat me founded this here hunka palstic from under a diecaster VW, so's we's keepin' it kinda in da famly. Here we see's them indievideouall plugem up wire things all gooed up into the cap proper, all properly likes. Gooeys looked so goodly we 'cided to just drip it all overs the outsides of the cap, fer mo' insulation & that, ya know, coz (pardons please-- gotsa take me pill)..........uh..........OH Yeah! needs us lots of insulation so's we don't be gettin no arcing from all the electricities dat ol' SKWILRLY's BIG generamator gonnna be generammating. Moved us on over to t'other sides of the bencch so's I could hopefulley finally gets dem valvem covers buttoned up fer paint. Whacked us out some 'bolt' heads outa a steering link out the parts box, made 'em gooey and stuck 'em..... ......unfortunatelsy, wound up stucking 'em to some illustrations boaard....... it never ends differnt colors next times---I promises!
  19. Well, after tryin' to impress me girlfriend by runnin' a 5k in 33 minutes, and then not bein' ables to walk fer over a week now , only thing left ta do is sit at da bench workin on parts fer the SKWILRLY dude. Finally got the valve covers cut out coz all the other 4banger parts be waitin fer them so's they can all be painted, but before dat......... ......just gotta fab up and 'stall some grommets fer SKWIRLS sparkem up plug wires. Here be the start of one--- purties much just rounding off'n the end of a 1/8" tuber. Then we does a slice & dice, drip a dab of goo on, and slide the 'grommet' inta place. Hopefuellie jpegs of engine parts in paint next up
  20. looking good! real nice job on that blower belt .........I gotta make one myself
  21. Aw c'mon Raymond! Anybody can stick a 'Cherry Red' sticker on a can of pink paint---but it's still freakin' PPINK!!!!
  22. Oh yeah! Me really like this! Love them wheelie bars, might have to try and incorporate them on my SKWIRLY Thanks for postin' up the link to the PartsBox, too.
  23. aaarrrrgghh! boy will I be glad when you use up all that pink paint!!! I do gotta admit, tho, it does go well with the purple---- but a pink rear end? Nice rod, nice build, thanks for posting it up
