Well fellers, (from a feller who aitn very well ) me & the good doc have beeened tryin' to stop ol' IGOR but 'parrently he's got body parts piled up agin the doors and we caint get in! 'Bout all we's can be doin' is looky thru the windows and watch... Ol' IGOR an' his big hairy hands are busy torchin' and a weldin'....... Whaaat!??? We's 'bout ready to call the firemans departmentals so's we can bustes our way in and put a stops to this here madness! NOW WHAT??? Methinks doc is awonderin' just whose brain he done gived ol IGOR ? Hmmm......while ol' IGOR takes a li'l break.....seems he might have sumpin' here. Doc seems to be likin' what he be seein' here. Now what's he doin'??? We's really gotta get in there and give him a cookie or sumpin'! IGOR! IGOR!! What have you done to my ride?!
-
After ol' IGOR woked up and seen his handiwork with the fat front fenders covering up them big ol rubbers, he figured maybe the good doc might like a bit of the same on the back too So he grabbed him the first set of fenders he ripped off that poor souls 49 and sliced 'em up and stuck 'em in place with his BIG hands for to see how they look He tried 'em this way and thataway....... ...and finally decided to put 'em on thisaway, after torching them a bit Then he made a BIG mistake -- he set the body back on backwards!!! Yep! Fer sure, ol' IGOR wasn't sure if'n his head weres on backwards or what, but he were sure worried 'bout what the doc was gonna say, so he did the only think he knowed to do to try and make things right... ...and got to slicing and dicing again! He started feeling a little better since he had almost a whole 'nother body to be workin' with....Whew! (maybe doc won't notice )
-
Hard to keep up with good ol' IGOR on this here project, but after getting him some much needed shut-eye, the good doctor got him a better look at them big tall tires pokin' up thru the front of his ride and didn't like it . Good ol' IGOR, always aimin' to please his master set to work to try and fix things up mo' better for the doc... ...by going out and robbin some fenders off'n some other poor souls' 49 . But even IGOR could see dat that were'nt gonna work, so.... ...he done went back out and lifted a whole 'nother body off'n someone elses 49r! IGOR's one busy boy! He struggled a good bit, but finally got them big ol' tires under them fat fenders..... but he had to widen the whole front unit to do so-- and then he seen dat ol' doc wouldn't be ables ta see thru dat chopped windyshield with it settin' way up there like dat... ...so off came the widened hood & fenders so's he could whack off the pesky part what was holdin' everthing up Set the fat front back on and seen ol' doc wouldn't be able to steer them big tires thru them twisty windy graveyard roads . IGOR was startin' to get just a little preturbed with the whole thing, but... ...he layed some more cut lines.... ..got the fat back on, shot some primer on it, and passed out Guess we's all gotta wait until ol' Doc Franky checks on his ride-- and IGOR
-
Good ol' Doc Frankenstein decided he could use a new ride to transport his body parts, so since he couldn't find a cheap panel delivery, he decided to modify his 49 Merc He had IGOR go out and get him some body parts and started welding 'em up. While IGOR was out he eyeballed some big tall wheels on some guys donky Impala, decided they might look goodly on the good doctor's ride, so he grabbed them too. Doc agreed about the big wheels and they got em under the frame, set the body next to it and layed out some lines so IGOR could get busy cuttin'. So IGOR got started..... ...and they kept workin' thru the nite until they got the body back on for a look see

Hey Dave, I think it looks mucho better with the chromeys than the yellow wheels, but wonder if'n you were to 'dirty up' the chromeys a bit, or maybe better put-- 'darken' them-- maybe even lose the whitewalls ? I know, Iknow..... Anyhows, check out what MikeMc did with a set of his Pegasus wheels, 'smoking' them with some Tamiya Smoke Lacquer. They come out lookin' way cool. Maybe that would tone them chromeys down a bit and methinks then they'd go a lot better with that gun metal-- which I abso-freakin-lootly loves Here be the link to MikeMc's post in Tips and Tricks: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=21947

Cool little ? project from an old 'Model Craft Handbook' (1952) published by 'Science and Mechanics'. Picked it up in a pile of old Popular Science mags at flea market awhile back. Just blows my mind that it's pretty much all balsa wood! -- even the front bumper! "This electrically powered replica of the popular low-priced Ford uses ordinary flashlight cells for juice" (what am I laughin' for? I'll probly wind up makin' one )
-
Yep-- real nice job Jim. Love the flames, but...... didn't you just have surgery on yer left hand awhile back? Gotta hand it to ya-- REALLY nice work for (almost) only one hand. Hope yer healing up good

OH, OK Billy. MY eyes aint what they usta been and at least I could tell it weres a Chevy! Thought it mighta been that 55 Sportsman---guess I wanted it to be a 51 Lookin' forward to seein' more of that Mustang--looks pretty cool so fars
-
OK Billy! Me like! Really love that rear view with them big tall stock windows (probably really slow it down if'n you put the glass in ) You talkin' about adjusting the front ride height-- don't look like you can go much lower unless you grind some of the body off ? Lookin' pretty good to me-- and I just love lookin' at them big windows ! Didn't notice it before on your earlier engine pic, but Dude! them plug wires don't end there at the valve cover!-- It don't look all that bad the way they are, but, if'n you go Google-in' fer some pics of a real live engine you'll probly see 'zactly where they should end up. I aint no xpert by no means on any engine ('cepting MR SKWIRLS 4banger ), but I'd be willing ta bet them plug wires should go below the valve cover and/or in betweens the header pipes, where they mount to the head. Still a great lookin rod what I'd be real proud to test drive fer ya oh yeah! what's that cool lookin' thing in the background of this here pic: looks kinda like a 51 Bel Air with a really cool BIG scoop on it? Can we see more of dat? Pretty please??

Boy......I don't know Dave..........Victoria is lookin' pretty mean ........ What're you doin' to her? Keep up the good work-- lookin' great

Yeah, done flipped anothern- --dats how I keeps gettin' hurt--flippin 'em overs. T'anks fer the Happy Barfin's George oh yeahh, btw George, Noah says "howdy art thou?" -
Nice to see this finished Jody. It turned out great! Love the color and that scoop on top of the engine. I'm assuming those are decals- the pinstriping etc? They look way fine on that purple. Magor bummer about the missing drill bits. Might try heating up a piece of wire, paperclip, or similar, in the flame of a candle and 'drill' holes with that. I do that on occaision when the drill bits aint applicable. Takes some practise to get everything just right-- how long in the flame, etc. Also, it more often than not creates a ridge buildup around the hole, but sometimes that can be a good effect. If you do try it, practise on somethin' you aint worried about screwing up first... and, of course, hold the wire with pliers or some such thing . In the meantime, hopin' & prayin' you finds your drillbits. Again, congratz on a job well done! I'll bet it looks awesome sittin' on the shelf.

Hey Mike, guys, I've never used any of this here liquid mask on any models-- but probably will soon--'specially after seeing your wheels-- Awesome! I also do some art painting on papers and have used a similar (if not the same) type of liquid masking for watercolor painting. Just wanted to add a possible tip for applying the masking which may work on our models: I use the long bamboo wooden skewers (from the supermarket) for a lot of things. One painting I was doing required the liquid masking be put on a very small area and the smallest brush I was using still wasn't small enuff ... so I grabbed me one of those wooden skewers, whittled the end down to the size I needed and made it kinda like a chisel point. Just dipped it in the liqid mask and didn't put too much on, then pretty much just touched it to the paper and moved it around to just where I wanted it. It worked great for applying the mask, almost like using a fountain pen. Can't see why it wouldn't do the same on a 1/25 car body. Hope that helps
