  1. Good thing we have a sharp eyed Marine on duty here in this thread. I didn't even notice your extra rear end until Clay pointed that out. We caint hardly believe our eyeballs at times Dave, lookin' at yer stuff , and then ya goes and throws in extra parts!! Maybe you could whip up that extra rear into a trailer? Nice informative thread, Dave. Lotsa paint goes into yer builds---how do ya cram 'em all into one li'l old model? Looking forward.......(and a little closer )....... to seeing it in final colors.
  2. Say what? (yep, blinky dinky help me hear better) Ol' SKIRLWIRLY aint gots 'im mucho choice in dat matter, Led, my man. If'n him wanna be tryin' ta drag hisself around on his li'l old skiddy plate and them li'l skinnies, he gonna have a hard time keepin' him big rear end off'n the ass-phalt
  3. Shucks, Foxer.........Thanks! I weres hopin' mebbe to get a cool grand---1,000 young'ens, ya know, but I'll settle fer 843 ............ ...oh, oooozzes..... I loves the way you talks! almost as goodly as my girlyfriend You are now free to go and slash plastic
  4. Whatever................ SWIRKLY wouldn't let me sleep, so's I got up and worked up these here 'raised' white letters on the computer, printed 'em out, put a new Xactly knifen blade in, and sliced a pair of "WHATEVER" (& yourn truly, of course), outa some regular bond paper, copy paper, eh? Decided my sinus's couldn't bear any more stinky painty gluey poohy stuff.......you know ###### (aint nuthin there!) so anyhow, used good old artist acrylic paint for glue and .............duh, paint! to stick the cut out letters on, and then sealed 'em up with some the black acrylic, which dries even before you gets the cap off the tube to squirt ya outs a dab, so was very extremely easy to paint the white on the 'raised' letters. All this while all ya'll weres fast asleep oy: if'n any ya'll needs to wanta see mo' pix and fer sure somwhat bigger, clink das link: http://public.fotki.com/V866/crazy-cars-by-cb/page8.html
  5. Hey guys, thanks for keepin' tabs on me & ol' SKWIRLY 2. Methinks I was having way too much fun, like you said, Dave-- breathing too many fumes .....and figuring SKWIRLY would let me know when they'd start melting my old gray matter.... but I gotta rememember he's just a buncha hunksa styrene Getting his 4banger together, slowly but surely. Just got one of his heads glued up and waiting for it to cure so I can file & sand it to finish size, then on to the other one, then valve covers, cover plate, magneto, etc, etc. Finally got a satisfactory finish on the paint job.... at least it looks 'at way from my fumigated point of view More jpgs when I figure out what side of the camera I'm on
  6. A well kept parts chaser indeed! Very nice 'lines' and proportions Dave. Subtle yet so effective chop. Has such a 'real' believable look to it, and very deserving of the pearl paint. Can't wait to see the red & white in/on it. Wonder how it would look with red steelies with the full hubcaps, showing just a thin red circle?
  7. Nice Deuce, Marcus! Love the stance on it , and there's just somethin' about black & chrome together. The purple plug wires are a nice touch. Looking forward to seein it with some lights
  8. I think I want a couple pairs of them there WWPC's Jody. How we make it happen? Them are some very excellently cool slicks.
  9. Hello, HELLO, from goodly old Millwalky 16.......Willis & SKWILRY here. Anybody ever try paintin' a swwquirrel? Mebbe a dead one, but this here one is alives, an' kickin' my butt at times Ol' SKWIRLY boy must like playin' games wit me, sayin' he be needin' layers coz it's wintry time here on da planet. I been puttin so many freakin layers on 'im, I caint hardly rememeber where my TV guide is . Ah, be that as it ams, been havin' lotsa problems with paints crackin & bubblin' & stuffs. SKWIRLKLY boy just be lovin' ever li'l minute of it. Finally got some dat 'etching' primordials slop and boy did his 'face' look even worsener than this here, but I sanded him down good, but tenderly, coz I still do cares 'bout the boy, and started bein' a little kinder & gentler towards him, and slipped a new coat of the etching slop on 'im and we's gettin' there. We's both kinda likin our new look, with the flattem up greenish for the body color. We's thinkin his SKWIRLY 2 garphics will show up real goodly like agin it. Things're lookin' up............................ sheesh! The ol' boy is insistin' on wearin' his medallion............freak.......... HUH? NO, I din't say nuthin, SKWIRLY. HEY! long as SKEIRLWLRLY's happy, 'ats all dat matters, right?
  10. Hey Mike, truck is lookin' awesome........ Hood flop looks good.........check out Ledsled Merc's '39 Chevy here---he did something similiar with his hood, and it look good. Can't wait to see grille opened and painted the body color. Fantastic work so fars
  11. Wow, Dave! 'R-V' is comin' along superfine! Now all ya gotta do is pipe some tubing to them strut cylinders and have dat hatch open 'by itself' . Little base under the Vette with CO2 capsule hooked up to a servo, remote control, etc . Yer havin' waaaay too much fun, buddy boy !
  12. Hey Jim, I'm from near Mars (note my profile ifno) and DC may be there--- but as long as we're here........in a sense ........it's all good. No problemo, Dr D! Strange to see it in my mind and then...... it magickally appears here! Lookin' waaaaay fine Virg. I shoulda done that to me Dad's Falcon
  13. Cage is lookin' goodly......... What color's it gonna be? Yellow or orange would look good IMHO. Also, for them stingers, you could use ferrules off'n paint brushes. Bug's lookin' good, keep up the good work.
  14. Eureka! It just hit me! This needs a nice old beatup brass headboard for that firewall!! .....with some old oil and/or gas cans hangin off'n it
  15. C'mon Virg, time to just admit that yer parts chaser finally bit the dust, and you's gotta buildem up another one. All that time spent chasing parts in that huge styrene junk yard you got .......looks like it paid off . Must be one really hot flattie or tranny since you gots the cab so far back . This one really has some character.
  16. Well, ol' SKEWIRLY seem to know what time of year it am.........and he be talkin' Valentiny talk at me, and got me to cover 'im with chocolate Actually, I aint havin' much luck with the rattlecans. Tried to cover 'im up with some gray primer, but it just started spittin' on the ol' boy. I really didn't mind dat part so much, coz we aint been gettin' along so famously, but.... tweren't much good fer gettin' a finish on 'im, so's hadta shoot some Krylon brown stuffs on 'im. I's gettin' tired of havin' to get up every morning and give ol' SKEWIRLSY a mudpack. Putty 'im up, and sand 'im, putty up, sand, putty up, sand.........yer makin' me sick SKEWEIRLY! all dem off gassin's---WHEW! Did another test fit of the 4banger, & hadta enlarge them holes a bit-- basically just clean the paint outa the holes. Yeah, they's a cylinder in there... we's gettin to dat....... Just like the real SKWIRLY ( There's a REAL SKWIRLY???) gonna havta snug the engine up to the frame coz them bolts are off just a bit. Well within the tolerances though. 'Tolerances'---yeah, I can only tolerates ol' SLKEWIRLY's stuff so much! So here we is violating the 10 photo per post rule.......I means, with a mini tutorial on scratching cylinder fins. Cut 'em outa a 'FOR SALE' sign, making 'em each a li'l bit bigger or larger than the others, dependin on where I felt like positioning 'em on the 'cylinder'. A scratched cylinder in the hand is better than 2 or 3 in a bush............? Shut up SKWIRLY. Yeah, here's them 'fins' hangin out on the 'cylinder' in their positions, and ready for.......... GLLUE! had to resort to the ModelMasters glue, coz the superduper stuff was bout to shrivel me eyeballs up. This here's the culprit--the superdupered cylinder that ol' SKEIWIRLY just bout put me inna hospital with. 2 down, and 2 to go. Ya'll notice that ol' SKWEARLS aint worried none about symmetry, or parts all lookin' the same. Longs as they's parts here and there, and they does a reasonable job, he's happy. He can run 4 cylinders, or 3..........don't matter to him, long as he can get them li'l skinnies up off'n the ground.
  17. Guten tag, everones been couple ruff days with the SKWIRLY one.....I mean 2! He tricked me into usin' some dat superduper glue, and I done sniffed waaay too much of it.........and got meself perty sickly........well, physically anyhows . So anyhows here's what we been accomplishin': Figured I'd best get them inner fender shrouds bolted in, before they felled off. Had to use some pretty small bolts to do so, and found some at the LHS. Aint they just the cutest li'l things! ...aw So now, we's good to go. Talk about a 'tub' Had some them li'l bolts left over, so........twas only naturl to use 'em to screw tham skinnies onto the front ax. Now I hopes ya'll realizes this aint actual size, coz dem would be some really big tweezers! Yep, them li'l darlins was a naturl fer screwin' into them hubs. Aint dat purty?! Li'l dab of the superduper headachey stuff, & them bolts aint goin' nowhere man. While layin' there with an icepack on me head, I done remembered about how I gonna be puttin' ol' SLKWARLS together after paint & @, and I sure am glad ol' SKWIRLys had me bolt his big bad 4banger on. Superdupered the bolts to the block and enlarged the holes in the frame, and we's cool. Data way we's can always display SKWIRLS with or without him engine. Finally! I can inhale somethin' other than superduper glue and putty. Das frame ready fer squuirtin'. And squirtin' I done did. Thinkin' of paintin das frame red, so this here kinda satin stuff'll be a goodly base---or just might leave it as it is. Splashed some black on dem slicks, and things're lookin' perty goodly.
  18. Yeah, right---this is a model ...........C'mon Rob, this here forum is for MODEL cars! just kiddin' dude. Awesome work, totally awesome
  19. Wow, Jody. That's one wild ride! Looks like you better know what yer doing or you'll wind up sliding sideways down hills It'd make a cool model, but better RC ride!
  20. nice lookin little ride there. can't wait to see what ya do with it. has nice proportions.......and I want to do nasty things to it
  21. .......just lookin' .... .....nice paint ya'll got on that engine & diffy--makes 'em look really real..... ....if'n ya know what I means lovin' every minute of this Dave. keep up the great work.
  22. [quote name='Raul_Perez' .......Yep!! That's the one!! Thanks again, Bernard!! It makes the trailer POP and helps tie the whole set together!! Later,
  23. Wow, Dennis. That's some really nice work you do. I see you gots Bernard all ga-ga with your period correct building. Me too. So cool to learn something about this really cool cars. Really interesting that they weren't originally called 'hot rods' . Can't wait to see more of this. Just re-read more of the post, and see that Bernard inspired you to get busy with this. That's great! I too, have loved Bernard's builds so much I am doing R&D on my atom reducing machine so's I can reduce myself to 1/25 scale and cruise in some of his rods (so if you see a little longhair hangin around yer builds, Bernard, you'll know I finally figgered it out )
  24. Yea verily, this forum totally rocks. The talent, the creativity, and the sharing are all incredible, and thanks to Gregg for it. However, for me, the people are the best part of it all. The people are the ones with the talents, the creative stuffs, and their sharing it all with anyone in a spirit of friendship and love of the hobby are what does it for me. Each one of us has had life slap us around, and how wonderful it has been for me to come here and actually be welcomed, and missed when I've been away. It is so nice to hang out here, with friends and 'play' with our 'toys'. Glad I found it and glad to be here and a part of it all. God bless all ya'll
  25. Really, really nice, Raul! Quite a project, and it all fits--proportions, colors, etc. The 'Raptor' logo on the trailer--did you make that? it's sweet.
