  1. Ya know, I weren'nt a real happy camper findin' outs ol' SQKWILRY were 'squirrellin' around behints me back, so.......... I hads to put me foots down This here's what ya gets fer messin around on me, SKWIRLY ol' pal. I put the heat to 'im, and left 'im a litlle twisted If'n he don't like it....too bad Now that we gots us an 'unndrstandin', we can gets us some work done. .......never seen ol' SKLKWIRLY in his scivvies Got some 'sheet metal' welded on to his bed. I got's ol' SKWIRLY right where I wants him
  2. That's what this here forum is all about, Gary, and thank you for the WIP pix! Awesome work! Now we can "build more and better models" too!
  3. 'We' aren't complaining now, are 'we', Dave? I knows we aint complaining---as long as you don't spend all yer time with dat camera! That is one awesome lookin' Vette!
  4. Yea, verily, Virg.........quite a bit o' dry brushing, and I think that'll brighten up ol' Sparky, unless you figure out a way to make 'im GLOW! My imagination just told me , maybe Sparky's ex could be drivin'
  5. Nice lookin build there Ron. So organized too! About your 'lighting'---might try putting your camera on 'manual' if'n you can, and see if'n you can find a symbol of a light bulb. That's for a 'filter' for use with incadescent bulbs and takes away that yeller/orange tint. Lookin' forward to seein' more pix.
  6. Geezoman, Virg, you do such 'clean' work--- no wonder you're Dr. D. Cranky! Man, I caint get my dishes as clean as this here chassis! Did you add a kinda lightning bolty 'cross member' to the frame (between the mufflers), or do it come like that? (or am I just seeing things again? )
  7. Nice pickem up, Gary, real nice. I aint sure.... ....but I don't think newbies are allowed to post up such awesome lookin' builds this early on . any chance we can see some of yer WIP pix? love to see that scratchbuilt frame
  8. CB

    '50 Chevy COE

Wow! That is one cool lookin' setup! Keep up the good GREAT work!
  9. Oh, so that's how it is, Led? You and SWKIRLY gettin all skirkwlly behint my back? No freaklin wonder he aint sayd nuthin ta ME the last couple days!!!! ......Yinz twos's messin' wit da wrong guy! coz, you knows, I......... I aints right Barbed wire, eh? most excellent! T'anks Led
  10. Ok kiddies ........Weeee'rre BACK! Cut part of SWKIRLY's 'tub' out, so I could get back to fitting the frame to the bed & body. A view from the non-existent tailgate of the 'Rubbermaid' bed liner . Crammed that big rear and them big meats into the frame and then stuffed the whole thing into SKWIRLY's bed. Kinda bent the framework in the process . Had to 'weld' the transaxle to the frame rails---jest temprorary, mind ya . While I was sleepin' Ol' SKIRLWLY drewd up this here charackter for him driver. I came up with this here emblem for the front of SKWIRLY , similar to the VW thing.......well, kind of Aint sure if'n I gonna be usin' it--might be too 'normal' for the ol' boy. Stucked 'em all together for to see where we might be headin' with this. For some balance, they's gonna be a big blown VW 4banger hangin' out way, way back there. Might hafta put wheelie bars on it . Jest figgered I'd let ya'll see dat me & SWKIRLY are doin' oaky doaklies .
  11. My vote is with Treehuggers. You gots red wires and disc brake stuffs, so maybe yellow, or orange body--but just one color. Might look better with a chop, but you been trustin' yer instincts so far..........I say keep doin' dat, coz it's lookin' way cool so far.
  12. Looks to me like you got the perfect pose here, Virg, with his head tiltin' down a bit anyhow. I just can't get the idea of a 'showerhead' outa my noggin lookin at that green thing. Wonder if'n it had some leather chinstrap hangin' off'n it? Just had me another thought ----MARDIS GRAS!!! perfect parade car! most excellent work Virg
  13. So you think me & Virg should get together on a build, Dave? on what planet? T'anks fer the compliment, but, I don't know 'bout that.........whatta you think Doc? As fer Dave sayin' "THIS NEEDS TO BE IN A MAGAZINE!!!!" ---methinks maybe a book with all yer builds in it would be sooooooo fine
  14. Yo, Bryce! Everything Peter said, yes, but---the black rod is the HOT one!!! OH YEAH!!
  15. I thought you was eatin' gravy? Didju see dat? Did I see dat? I tought I taw Gowjobs VW again! Ol SKWIRALY aint gonna like this!
  16. Nice little rod there Dave! Love the color .......and aint that li'l Caddy engine just so fine? I builded up the 1/32 '25T and just couldn't get over the detail on that little Caddy. Like them zoomies you put on yours Where'd ya get the chrome bits?
  17. Led, now you just HUSH! you hear? we's all jist seein' thangs here now ..........unnersstand?
  18. Looks like you be havin' fun there Jody. Can't wait to see that body in primer
  19. Hey Whit, like Bill says, aint no one correct answer to that one. I would say to judge by the thickness of the body, or frame, etc, that you'd be putting the new styrene on, as to what thickness to get and use. That's just a really general rule, and aint always right, but it could be a start for ya. I'm building up a 'Weird-Ohs' type VW drag pickup (SKWIRLY 2) out of a toy VW I got at the Goodwill, and I'm doin a lot of scratchbuilding on it, using 'styrene' (or 'plastic' from a couple different sources) If'n ya goes to my thread on my "SKWIRLY 2" build at this link: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...40&start=40 I'm using 'styrene' from a Rubbermaid drawer partitioning box, and it's a nice thick plastic (styrene)--a full 1/16" thick. I also used a 'For Rent' sign I got at my local hardware store for like $00.79. It is pretty thin, and like Bill said it can warp. I used it to tub the rear of SKWIRLY 2 and the glue pretty much melted it in places. While I was shopping for the 'styrene' at the local hardware store, I also got a larger 'For Sale' sign, which is thicker than the 'for rent' sign. Haven't used it yet, but don't see any problem with it. I've used stuff like this before with no problems. Reason I am using the 'signs' at the moment is that I haven't been able to get to my local hobby store, but when I do go there I do like Bill says and get me a bunch of sheet (usually .040") and some round stuff, some angle iron, etc. Tha's the other reason I didn't make it to the LHS---coz I spend way too much money there on more models!!!
  20. You's the man, Doc ---a master craftsman, even with yer words. Love the 'impending interior' thing--almost has a threatening, sinister sound to it Can't wait to see them skulls under some 'glass'
  21. Hey, greets jürgen! WOW! that is one awesome lookin' 31. Just love that hopped up 4banger! Don't be blowin' it up now! Really sweeeet how you looked at it for awhile and then changed out the headlights for them bigger ones ---gives it a 'classy' look, and yet it's still has that "Don't mess with me" look to it. Man, you gotta way with the flat black paint! Beautiful!
  22. Hey, thanks Gonzo. Love the old skool choppers. Really enjoyed the pics, and really, really enjoyed your detailed account of the build! Them drinking straws sure do come in handy in the modeling world! Just wonderin what scale this is.......1/12? Man, I might have to do one myself--be awesome to have sumpin' like this on the shelf.
  23. Hey, t'anks Gowjobs, I be keepin' on ..........I aint gots no choice! and I be likin' it dataway! Oh yeah, ol' SWKAIRLY done scoped yer awesome lookin avatar and sayd he might likem me to paints 'im up like dat!
