Hey Jody, Bernard, Some time ago I was thinking of building some sort of tracked vehicle, or big old steam driven tractor and I went lookin'........ Found these pics. Seems Hitler was working on developing something quite similar: Would be a cool model on the shelf, eh? .......and then I saw this I believe it is a resin kit--a Russian propeller driven assault vehickle. Oh yeah! Seem to remember this pic being a thumbnail in some online modelling catalog, but can't remember anything more than that. Love to scratch this here thing, too..................maybe one of these days

the TailChaser is looking mucho groovy, Doc ! I do gots to admit, I'm a bit chagrinned to hear the duallies may not be ........aw..........OH well..., it's lookin fine as is. Love the suspension you rigged up. And I did notice you seem to be running hot and cold? Youl just did a 'hot' Caddy trunk, and now you be doin' a 'cold' one! That narrowed Caddy rear end sure looks like it has possiblities of being a 'front' end

Lookin' mighty fine, Bernard. Love the 3/4 front shot, with the headlights and the blue sparklies all neatly arrayed. Always wanted to go for a ride in your 'rides', but after checkin' out the seats in this one........ , and that huge Caddy out front...... , boy, I don't know...........must be coz I'm gettin' older, I think I'd be happy just to see and hear it go by! Can't wait to see the exhaust built up on it. Love your decal. You make?
-
Hey Dave, yer Vette is lookin mighty fine! Love that shot of the bod with all the hingey hardwares in it. Did I miss something, or did you open up them front wheel openings? or is they just normally that big? Nice to see your obsessing with the scratchin' and bashin' and jammin'........ oh, it do be such fun! Really nice work on those door jambs. Keep up the good work!

Howdy do everbodies! Woked up a bit sore after bouncing around the beginner slope on a snowboard yesterdays. Don't rememebers hittin' my head, but sure did slam my butt down hard quite a few times . As usual, Ol' SKWIRLY din't wanna hear nuthin' from me--just tol' me to get busy, so.......... Procured these wee tiny li'l brass bolts from my LHS just 'tother day fer SKWILRY and spent this morning's session drilling mounting holes. These li'l bolts are only 3/8" LONG, so do de math --they's way hard to thread a nut onto........but ol' SKEWIRLY keeps a close eye on me, so....... I finds a way . Actually startin' to look like somethin'................it'll look lots better when I gets some paint on it. Ol' SWRIKLY says it feels purty good with some weight back there fer a change.

You can do it Virg. Yep, try 'em.........duelies, duallies .......see what works best. We all gots faith in the Doctor!

CAUTION! -MAX PHOTO POST aaaahhhh......... ..... .....styrene, toulene, xacto knifey, drilly press, sandy belt, baby Ol' SSKWIRLLY aint saysin' much at the moment, coz he be seein I be in another world.......and I even leaved him upstairs whilst I went down to the machinen room where all the power tools live Started by laying out centers for the cylinders in the 'block' 'Drilled' some starting holes for the 'milling' drilling machine and cranked out them cylinder holes........aaahhhhh. Aaaaahhhhhhhhh............shavings. Mating block to belle. Looks like a goodly couple. I'd like to make a 'point' here, and reinforce.......uh, something. Aaaaahhhhh.......progeresso! 4 Sharpies later, Ol' SKWIRLY is closer to pistons and all them other moving parts. Cut each 'cylinder' from a Sharpie cap and stuck in the 'block' for a mocken up. Bad part is, I gots to now make fins fer each of them cylinders. But, I be diggin it. Ol' SKIWRLY in a rare, all skins down posture showin him posterior. Gonna have to consider mebbe puttin a skid plate under his oily pan. Mebbe a hunka diamond plate with wheels? Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..............aaahhhhh. Spended most of this morning session sanding all that green putties down. I likes dat stuff! Hope to get some primer on both his body parts. Don't know if'n I'll be using that flap black primer, coz it make ol SKIRAWLY look awfully scary.

Very cool Bug, Darryl! I'm gonna hafta see if'n I can find me one o' them Thunder Bugs .........I'm inspired! Thanks!
-
Looks way cool, Ron! and nice pics too! (Now I just gotta try and not go out and buy me one)

Caddy came out great Virg ! The paint looks even better up against all the interior stuff. Yep, you shoulda put a red LED in that trunk ...........maybe next time.

Boy does this bring back memories! Built a lot of Hubleys while I was growing up. Don't think I ever did paint any of them........oh yeah, I did build up a Vicki for my Mom and did a maroon candy on it. I like the look of the primered fenders on yours Bruce. I'm gonna hafta find me one and make a rod outa it. I seem to remember the kits came with a small file for filing all that flash off. Good luck with yours. Looking forward to seeing it all smoothed up and painted

Looking good Bernard. Can't wait to see some lights on it. Love them 12 spokers

Here we are again....... ...started off this morning by giving ol' SLKWIRLY a good sanding and then tried to give him a bath. No, them aint his brains, or maggots in his cab........it's rice to dry up the water from his swimmin' in the sink. Once he dried up a bit, I put some new, good, green putty all over him, and his big fat rear end, and.......... even slopped some on his big fat meats, just for kicks. The innerds will be showin' a bit andyhows, so.........figgered I might as well. Finally able to turn my tension to the go box fer the back---dat VW 4bangin' thing. Started by welding a big hunka 'iron' to the back of the frame..... (I aint gots a clue at times what I's doing here--I just waits to hear from ol' SKWIRLY ) so, anyhows, I did resize the engine smaller and looked for just the right size & shape hunka styrene fer the bell housey. Anyboody care to guess where'm it comed from? If'n you been followin' along, they be some clues somewheres back in the preceding pages. Whacked out a couple big discs fer the mounting flange and sliced some thin strips (and my finger ) fer the reinforcing ribs, and couldn't stop there! so I cut & fit the ring to mate the housing to the transaxle tube. And here be the start of the 'block' fer them 4bangin pistons & cranky shaft. Next up, I'll be drillin holes fer them cylinders, and mebbe a few other holes as well--- Oh boy, I's gettin' excited ..............I think

Wowser, Fletch! I be trusting that that firewall is pretty accurate, even if'n you say it's "Perfect it is not, but a reasonable representation." Sure looks good to me! With that firewall, and the interior mods/corrections you're making---you might have to consider using a clear body so's we can see all your fine work .........but then, tha's what WIP pics are for
-
Lookin' GOOD, Ron. One thing to see rods like this as a picture on the box, but boy do they look so very, very cool in 3D, built up like that. Yep, looks like you've been tryin' differnt things with your camera. Maybe part of the 'yellowing' is simply coz there's a lot of yellow in the pictures! One other suggestion, if'n I may: try using a plain white background. Hard to see the body with the busy background. Prop up a sheet of posterboard--you can get it just about anywhere, 22"x 28" and usually under a buck. It'll give ya a plain background, making your model stand out better, and reflect a little light on the 'back' side of the model as well. Keep up the good work
-
Wow, very interesting Fletch, and very nice work. I never would've known the bodies on some models weren't accurate. Guess I just assume too much (and we all know what that makes me ) Not trying to be funny, but the 'ol' girl' kinda looks pregnant . That was the first thought that came to mind when I first saw this. The more I'm lookin' at her, the better she's lookin' -- full bodied and powerful? not mean, but strong....... a strong woman named Vickie........oh boy Can't wait to see this all painted up. Hope yer keepin that stance on 'er.

Just gotta say THANKS to everyone for the comments and encouragements . God bless all ya'll fer dat, coz it aint easy dealin' with ol' SKWIRLY at times, even tho it does seem to be workin' out alright if'n I just do what HE says !!! Nice to know I'm among friends here---Thanks again---means a lot Oaky doaky, I did some mocking up the other day, trying to get an idea of balance established with MR SKWIRLY, and his big blown VW 4banger: On the left is a photo of the model with a heavy paper cutout of ol' Skwirly all duded up that I stuffed down in the hole in the cab. I also used the same heavy paper to 'box' up the engine block and stuck the top of a 2 litre bottle on for the bellhousing thing. I removed the background from the picture so's I could concentrate on the dude and the engine. As I suspected when I did the mockup, the dude and the engine looked too big--even tho' it is in the old 'Weird-Ohs' style it do gotta have some sense of proportions. With the computer I was able to 'remove' the SKWIRLY dude from the cab and scale him down a bit, as you can see on the right. I did some 'painting' as well. Looks like I'm goin' with a red frame--unless SKWIRLY says differnt. Still no clue what colors for the body--- I suppose I'll hear ol' SKWIRLY talkin sometime about that . Gotta do more work on that 4banger on the computer--get it sized up right. Can't wait to start cuttin' & gluing so's I can be inhaling vast quantities of styrene dust and toulene . Later all, and t'anks again

All the snow & ice has got me cooped up with ol' SKWIRLY ! Kinda good in a way.......if I survives it Been bracing up his frame some, so's he don't fall apart when he jumps on it. Added a shifter housing to the transaxle, cut from the axle end. Closed in the wheel wells, and fabbed some body mounts. Trimmed the 'sheet metal' on hims bed. Found some 'barbed wire' and worked up Led's ideer for SKWIRLY's emblem (T'anks bro ). Found the chain, and it was all over . Started slappin' the ol' boy around with bunches of putties of various repute. While the snow & iceys keepd comin' down, got cozy warm just sandin' & sandin' & sandin' dat putty. Finally grabbed ol' SKIWLRY and some flap black laquer primer, shot 'im up, and....... YIKES! HIM LOOKIN' SCAREY!!!!
-
Pretty slick trick on them front fenders, Dave Me like That coupe is lookin' way good, but.......... it's lookin' like it's already at a really low, low-brow golfem up course---somebody got their 'Vette stripped!!!! Love them wires & whites

T'anks Led. It be rollin' along superfine .... ....just got done sprayin' SKWIRLY's cab with his first coat o' primer.... He looks like Darth Vader!! mo pics coming asap
