Hey guys, t'anks fer hangin with me & SKWIRLY 2.........it is a bit trying at times, wondering if'n I'm hearing SKWIRLY speakin' or what .................. Here's where we are at the moment: Good while back, me & George 53 did a deal on his 1/8 '32 Deuce roadster WIP, and I wounded up with a big box o' parts--Wow! Anyhows, I been dippin' into the big '32 fer some parts fer SWKIRLY 2, and this be the latest dippin'. SKWIRLY be holdin' one of the reflectors from th' 32s headlight bucket in his teeth, jest waitin' fer me to cut it to fit the headlight housing, as I already done did on the one. Was walkin' round in circles for sometime tryin' to find some roundy stuff to use for the headlight housings to fit them reflectos---finally tried some plastic pipe my bro used to use for his ham radio antenna, and it fit the headlight lense perfecto! Slowly adding hunks & strips of styrene to SKWILRLY's 'head' ( plastic surgery!), like the braces on the dam air-- OOOPS! sorry!---air dam (or air #### ), and laying out window edges, etc for puttying up. Also, very slowly adding pix to my fotki, but they be doing 'scheduled maintenance'........ Gotta get back---SKWIRLY's callin

Stunning! MCM should have a "Model of the year".............and I nominate "Slightly Altered". Dude! are you OK? in-freakin-credible!
-
Aaarrgh! More inspiration!! Nice Falcon, Rudy! Love them stacks. Love the AWBs---I gotta look thru my stash and see if'n I got anything I can make into an AWB
-
NICE! Wow, what a paint job! Nice resto, Rob. That second pic, with the big wheels in the background scared me at first ---I thought at first you had a 1/8 scale Pony-ack there, and then I thought you were gonna put them huge wheels on the li'l Pony I'm ok now.

T'anks Led............I be beginnin' to think ol' SK2 gonna break the glass . Feels good to be back at it .

More manipulating o' the stryrene on and nearby ol SKWIRLY 2. Seems ol' SKWIRLY 2 is taking shape, and I'm just following along. Here be his latest look : More pix as soon as I can dump 'em in my fotki, but I aint been leavin the bench much. I be definitely obsessing again .........and it feels freakin GREAT!

Lookin good 3men2s. Love your headers and the 'straw' thing. Them straws come in quite handy! When I checked your thread the other day and seen the reference pix ---at first I thought you had super detailed your engine & @! but then I woke up and realized they were pix of a 1:1. How you gonna mount the engine? I'm building SKWIRLY 2, am going to scratchbuild a blown VW similar to yours, but I'm hoping to have 4 seperate pipes hanging out back. Gotta come up with some kinda frame based on wheelbase, front & rear axles, etc, and haven't figgered out how to mount the engine yet. Probly when I get the engine blocked up it'll help me see . Good luck, keep up the good work.

Lookkin' GOOD! Arby. Love the colors--specially the green in the engine- . I'm planning a '37 Chevy rattty sorta build, and may just do something similar. Can't wait to see the Willys in paint.

poor stupid journalist...........wonder what was the last thought in his/her head before he/she asked Ted, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?' " This country would be a lot better place if'n a lot more of us were like 'the Nuge'.

did even more cutting on SKWIRLY 2 today: Took the plunge and cut the cab a bit shorter, so it'll sit lower. Also shortened the bed. Bent and glued some round stock to start cleaning up the roof and windows, pre-putty. Added stretcher to bed to pull ends closer to fit cab, and fabbed rear window frame and glued on.........again, pre-putty. Layed out some possible different top edges for the bed. Test fit George's big rear end......... almost takes up the whole bed!! That wild VW beater engine gonna be hangin out back ! Methinks part of the reason I like cuttin SKWIRLY 2 up is coz that orange color reminds me of a pumpkin. Did some wild painting on the 'puter............gonna use the teeths, probly not the paint design. Cut new front panel for the bed and glued and clamped it. Started on the front axle.

Thanks for the ifno, James. I'll have to see bout adding it to my stasheroonie--like I really need it

Awesome build of an awesome twuck, JW-- . I want it! I want to do nasty things to it!! If'n I caint have yours, where might I get me one? I'm assuming it's 1/25 scale?

probly when I gets bailed out by the guvment........... I done ditched my executive plane rides & @
-
ohboyohboyohboy..... they're coming to take me away.....
-
ahso, Grasshopper. I should probly post this up in "Trips & Ticks".........found out by accident while cutting ol' SKWIRLY like this, that my drooling actually helped lube the saw, making the cutting go mucho better!

Eureka! Thanx fer the idea Randy! Hobby Express, here I comes Hey James, 84, I think (therefore I are) insanity is a huge part of all this, an' I just be doin' my part to spread it around. What would be even mo' insane (and soooo cool) would be if'n we was doin' this here stuff in 1:1 . Gotta save up so's I can donk & flame my Caravan .

Blame it on my SKWIRLY 2 build............ couldn't get this thought outa my head today. Finally grabbed my 1/18 deadcast '58 chebby & tooked the wheels off'n it and did some mocking up with them 1/18 wheelies and 1/25 bodies: Probly gonna do up this 37 chebby firstly, like so, but..... I'd really like to stuff them 'big' meats up in some fenders--just might sacrifice this here 39-40's fenders for dat. Hey! it's just a Ford, right? And of course, gotta do a turtytoo, too . Stay tuned........

Way cool looking Raul. Absolutely love the spine on the roof . Very modern looking as well. From the rear it looks something like the Chebby SSR, but tons better.
-
'Zat good, Raul? Sometimes I wonder, but then I come to my senses--or take leave of 'em! I never can figger out which it is ..... Oh well, in addition to being wild & carzy, I are also obessive compulsive and couldn't wait to get my mitts back on ol' SKWIRLSY 2. Started puttin the back back on the cab:

Ok laddies, I'm back, or so I think........ I did decide to go with VW power for this here SKWIRLY thing, and after extensive oogling at 3mens2's powderplant in his VWprostock bug, and some pics of 1:1 drag racing VW engines, I started designing my own: Can't wait to start scratchin this puppy. Still not sure if'n I'm gonna go Zinger stylin, or half hearted realistic. Also, initially, while designing this I had planned on one, maybe two blowers, instead of the carbs and stacks I seen most of them VW engines sporting. Crawled back into the puter and dropped the engine into a couple mock ups: (almost like sitting in class, ignoring the teach, & just designing race cars ) So anyhow, layed out some cut lines and did some more cutting and here's where ol' SKWIRLY 2 is right now........ Think I should lose the flower thing off the front?
-
Aw, gee whiz (hope that aint a bad word) George........I don't be rememberin if'n you told me bout keepin SKWIRLY away from them 'shrooms--must be old age an mebbe them old Mills too . Now, as fer SKIRLY 2, I think I'm goin squirrely ---been spending an inordinate (ooh! ya'll imbressed?) amount of time on the puter designing parts fer SK2 and slicing and dicing it up, down, back & forth. Here's the first idea I had was gonna make a bigger cab, kinda chopped, and mebbe drop the big 1/8 V8 outa the big '32 in the back, but didn't wanna go with them carbs (gotta watch my cholesterol ) so I did a little engine work on the puter and played with some painty ideas. Then I cornsidered a mo' severe chop to the top & @ but it didn't really grab me..........but I did decide to go back to them bicycle wheels. Also decided to scratch a new roof, outa some sheet styrene using my bigass heatem up gun to help, maybe even do a RattyFinky type thing bursting thru it, and so I started gutting the body........ Got me this really cool keyhole saw, shaped like a pistol (me like ) and started cutting !! After getting my rocks off cutting ol SKWILRY 2 all up, turned my tension back to the roof, and got'r done. Yeah, I know, gots them wires back on it--still goin squirrely at times. Slopped a lot of cement to the roofing parts and let it set up overnite. Got back on the puter and started seein if'n the RattyFinky thing was viable, or if it would lead to an extremely inordinate (there I goes again, with the big words) amount of time and effort that would snot result in an end product worthy of......... .....AW, the heck wit dat. Stay tuned for the next installment of pics, soon as I postem up this'n.

Cool lookin rod, Mark. It's so ugly, it's cool! I like it's first life too, with them big mudders--- but this front end just grabs me--Awesome!
-
yeah, thanks tons dude..........I'm so sick I don't know what I'm doin Figured I'd dip ol SKWIRLY in a hot bath to loosen up the adhesive on them stickers---never thought this would happen! the bug done shrivelled up on me..... Gave 'im a hot massage with my bigass heatem up gun, hopin' fer the bestest but I don't think the bug is goin be happenin. Then I rememembmered him big brother, (or sister--kinda hard to tell the sex o them Vdubyas), and so say 'Howdi' to ''SKWIRLY 2''. Guess we'll see what kinda mess I can make outa ''SKWIRLY 2'' too.

Don't be worryin' about the jokes 84--the 'new' kinder and gentler MCM forum don't put up with that ######. Only proper langueage and decorum allowed on board. See below for my 'unique twisties' on SKWIRLY. Apparently it was gettin so cool it got hot

Been whacked so many times by them freakin full loaded freights, don't much matter anymore George. My problem is, I keep trying to get back up and while I'm staggerin around, another one whacks me.
