Good lookin practise JayVee. One thing I notice on (obviously) 'backyard' flame jobs, which I've been guilty of too btw, is first, the shape--we tend to get too complicated, wanta put too many curves in and there just aint room for 'em all. Secondly, like you refer to above, is that we tend to lose 'sight' of the background color that the flames are going to be on when the masking is removed, usually making the flames way too 'dark' or too contrasty to the background color. It is sooooo easy to forget that and just keep working the flames colors. To help with that, I've tried spraying the cutout part of the flame mask the color of the car so I can lay it beside the flames and see how it looks. This looks way cool! Ifn you slide that styrene down over the front of dat Riv' you'd have the start of one fine lookin DeathRace Buick fer the DeathRace buildoff!

Lookin good Rob. I haint seen Ric FLair for ages. Caint rememeber, but dont think he did leather on his head, did he? just a thought coz them window coverings might look cool in leather
-
I think thats the coolist part bout this, is startin with an almost 'stock' car and then thrashin on it--when the drivers seat, steery, etc are already in place ya gots to work around em, an I'm thinkin that's how it were in the idea of the movie. Just think bout doin Kasteer's warwagon in 1;1. sledgehammr out the windshield an slide a 15' long cannon barrel in---would dat be cool or what?
-
Thanks fer the pix Jarhead--cool lookin beast. We gots lots of super talented modelers on this forum: guys what make roll up windows, working door and hood latches, keys in ingitions, etc..........but now you even got working AC???!!!!!!!

ManOman, things is lookin good! Thanks fer the upclose an personal on that gun, Jantrix--looks very do-able and could be put just bout anywhere. I was wonderin where you was, Kasteer --Dude, you beend busy and that DeathWagon looks awesome! You better start postin sumpin Jarhead, coz I knows I'm goin crazy tryin to imagine what yer semi gonna look like wit 2 diesels and trax and probly half an armoury That'd be an interesting build, Clay, a Deathracin Stude. Ifn yer thinkin of one your Avanti's, it'd look way cool with guns out the headlite holes and all armorplated--it gots nice lines, and yer almost there with the full disc hubbies too Love to see some action pics of these builds, like flames shootin outa Diymirage's flametrower, and some o dem rockets ignitin offn Kjadud0667's Charger. Just looked back thru some of the pages and looks like we only gots one Ford runnin--Allgosvo's PsychoClone-Hope all this GM & Mopar heavy metal aint scarin ya Allgosvo ..... ......and can't fergot Evils Deathscalator in high heals an skirts what's comin Thursday Me 'n the PonyAckAck are layin low til we sees what he's got
-
What warthog didja get them things from? surely not the A10? they looks cool, an just a thought, ifn youd put some airbags on yer front, you could sneak up on Evil, drop yer front, slide under his DonkyDeathscalator and givem a hot seat wit them things
-
SuperSweet 31, Dan. What kit did you start with? I gotta get me one, unless I already have it. Checked out yer other builds---WOW!
-
'at's right JAFFA, it aint just about the weapons, the drivin helps too!! Looks like we's gonna hafta watch out fer kjadud0667's Charger wit dem nasty spikes Good move there kjadud0667, keepin us from gettin too close at ya
-
Yeah Harry!, PS somethin up, mebbe an ol fittyate Bonnyville taildraggin war wagon
-
We aim to 'please', Harry , ya think this's funny huh? Well watta ya thinkm o dis? All we needs is a driver, and we can use hydraulics, electrics, etc fer controllin our weapoons. Spent last couple hors designin ma big gun (but yinz can only see half of it right now) with my 'Swede'ey's advice in mind first pic, big gun up so I can swivels it all around blastin front, back, and/or sidewizes and here be me big gun down wit dat hydraulic ram/turret collapsed you like, 'Swede'ey??
-
YES SIR!!
-
bit ov dvice 'my friend' bout ballin them four skirts at once, beend dere, an payd bigtime fer it, lostin a house and almost 250K in dineros, so maintain 'gun' control at all times

Nice lookin hoods there, JV. I caint use 'em, but that pic almost, almost, inspired me to build up a shield and paint it like that for a wall hanger. Yer pic kinda looks like a couple shields hangin on a castle wall. That'd be wild to see a horde of Berserkers comin at ya behind shields like dat -
Hope you gonna armor plate dem donky ol 24s yours Evil, coz my Ponyack and dem Mopars r all gonna be lots lower than yer ginormus (good one ) deathscalator, so after I blasts yer meats off, I'll just hit me JATOs, lift up bout level wit yer mini an pepper ya good.....ting ting ting.........akc akc ack akdl oh man, 'Swede'ey is rite, I nose I's haasin too mucy mfun
-
C'mon 'Swede'ey theys plenty o time fer ya to git yer edumaktion on pic postin, so just start buildin up one dem Detroit alley deathdealin infernal combustin SVUs coz we's duckin it out clear onto NEXT year--yinz'a gots til March 009, so gets Marchin, Marine , and don't be dissin me hero Hans Ulrich Rudel---it's Rudel--not 'Udell'!!
-
Nice! Uelder. Love the paint and weathering, the dented fender, and specially that spout! Looks like you even got the stance right for a full 'tank' of Ted's Root Beer--looks like that front end will drop a bit when the 'tank' is empty.
-
Muchos danka 'Swede'ey Dojn yew be warryin none, dat big ol Ponyack can take som hits, an it gonna be disshin some out toos. Cant be rveallin toomush toomsoon (shrooom shroom), but you gots a bit of a points bout aiimin the entire vehakcle given the envireoments, howeevers, part of me plan is inspired by a hero of mine from WW2, namely Hans Ulrich Rudel, who toasted at least 500 Russky tanks with his Ju87 with a 37mm cannon below each wing. Really cool how he would spot a tank, start firing machine gun tracers at the tank, aiming his entire Stuka (my favorite plane, btw)to get on target, and when them tracers was all over dat tank--WHOOSH, WHOOSH!! away wit them 37s. Oh, an btw 'Swede'ey, my weapons aint broked so why would dey need ta be fixed ..........
-
scored a buncha steel plate, so fabbed gun bays for the Pony ACK ACK ACK .010" styrene for cover plates and wire insulation for hinges somebody been shootin my styrene cant wait to see the big gun in place------ack ack ack
-
Wow! that is sooooo cool, Ron. whatta ya wanta 'finish' it for? Looks like yer havin way too much fun with it to 'finish' it! . 1 question--I thought I membered that you did this as a replica of a real track? and was just wonderin ifn the real track has that 'hole in the wall' there--man that looks dangerous! Ifn it am for real, did anyone ever nail it? thanks for the little tips on the mud and the shine, btw
-
I think we're all a bunch o loose cannons here Harry, so be careful!
