Hey guys, tanks fer poiintin tha out bout the differnt colors George--I keeps fergettin ya gots some kinda fiber optick cable hooked up to my workdbenchs keepin yer eyeball on me. funny thing bout this here paintem up job. I got DupliColor 'Chrome' and DupliColor 'Anodized Purple' to spray over the 'chrome'. Looked awesome when the purple was wet, but when it dried, it got a light colored powder on it which I wound up basically just polishing off with some really fine sandpaper and then finished up with a drier fabric softener sheet, (a used one). the color in pic 2 is close to what she looks like in persona, but may be just a tad blue-er makin it look mo purplie. Not sure why pic 3 lookems so reddish, but I do try to change the white balance on my camera when I takes the pics, setting it on 'incadescent' for pics on the workmbench, and I don't always member to change it to 'sunshine' when I be shooting pics in the sunshine. Just yer typical ######'n ######. Don't be scarin me with yer talkin bout them Caddaracks, George !! I cants afford dem thaings! Hope yer grandsons have some fun with them onethutties, Gramps. As fer them headers, next time I do dat, I'm gonna find some softer wire, or do the solder thing. Just got some styrene tubing to try too. One thing this here Li'l T has been teachin me is patience, but I been skippin class a lot.....

Good for you Harry, just using a few tools very well and not relying on the filters doing your work. I finally had to un-install my PS7 coz I got addicted to that--seeing what the filters would do. End of last year, doing a couple pieces for a show, I literally lived in PS7 for 2 weeks. As you mentioned previously, there's like 20 ways you can do just about anything there, and I would apply a filter, then go to 'fade filter' and I just had to see what fading each and every aspect of the filter looked like. Sometimes it was a good thing-it improved the art, but more often than not I would wind up removing the effect completely and try another filter, going thru the same long drawn out process. It is nice that PS has all that it has, and sometimes I wish, and probably some others too, that we could just hit the 'undo' button on our builds and start over, but......back to the basics, and stickin with them, leads to experience, and fewer times reaching for that 'undo' button. I'd say you've mastered your tools, and thanks so much for sharing your builds here and in the mag with us.

Howdy, and Welcome! C-man! always nice to have fellow model car kit hoarders stop in and say "How do", slap some pics of their builds down and talk a bit. Liked your intro--musta been tuff lettin go of them 200+ kits beffore , but now ya gots 'em back, and ya gots plans for em all, right? Could give ya some inspiration fer a sermon on Jeremiah 29:11--"I know the plans I have for you...." Hope you enjoy yerself here, lots o good friends, good builds, and lots o inspiration (sometimes too much ) Peeps what aint know me might think this aint right, my tellin a preachr to checkem out "Pure Hell", but seein yer interestss I think you'lll like this here build--here's the clinker to the finished dragster--awesome build of an awesome car, and lots of ifno on it tooo. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.p...mp;hl=Pure+Hell checkem it out and enjoyu

Cool explanation Harry. Really neat how you work on one 'part', getting 'it' done, then moving on to another one, a lot like working with the styrene parts. I can relate to your merging layers as I would lose track of them all. Again, kind of like working with the styrene parts, sanding, painting, etc--'merging' the part with the paint. I'm part of a band, 'Persephone's Dream'-- http://www.persephonesdream.com/music.html , and the artist, 'Audre', who does our artwork does fantastic computer artwork. The last album, 'Pyre of Dreams', we couldn't get in touch with her and deadlines were looming. Time was a very critical factor because when Audre does her artwork, she keeps all her many, many layers seperate until the whole image is 'done'. When she does finally 'merge' all the layers, it literally takes days to flatten the image http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/uploads/emoticons/default_laugh.png' alt=''> ! If you're interested here's a tutorial she did for an illustration for the song 'Stormchaser' by PD--http://www.scribd.com/doc/2826986/Making-Stormchaser-by-audre-weirdart-com I and another artist were recruited to come up with an alternate album art package while waiting to hear from Audre. She had family problems at the time, but finally got her version to us and thus we have 2 versions of 'Pyre of Dreams'. Looking forward to whatever you post. Nice to have you and Jairus, and yer way kool rods, with us
