Hey Kevin, I assume you'v probly seen the pix alot with the lorider sittin purty in front of some graffiti covered wall, but ifn ya haint, like Clay says, the foambord bout the easist way to go, hot melt glue it together, cover it with spackling to make it look like stucco. For stuff like garage doors, and trim round doors & windows I use the lightweight posterboard that they sell in the grocery store and the craft store. Best stuff is the cheapest, the white. It's not too thick, you can scribe it with a ball point pen to make yer folds and it is fairly sturdy. Paints up nice, kinda like 1:1 wood. Dude, with your imagination, you gonna post some imcrebbile hangout and it really sets off yer builds

Guten Nacht, Aleks!! Saw your post and wondered if it would be a bicycle for wooden tracks. Checked it out and then checked out your site. Totally AWESOME! Love your 3 wheeler. Couple questions for ya - Do you make all your parts? your own tires? What scale do you work in? Very nice builds! Thankx for postin them. Just can't get over your engine work, can't wait to see the engine for this one. Oh yeah, do they run these on wooden tracks in Germany?
-
I believe you nailed it, Raul, doin the build just like the story (how much did they pay ya btw? ), but how does Junior esplain this to Mom & Dad?
-
That's why Gramps positioned them headers the way he done did Led! When ya sees that ol speddbumpd comin, ya just blimps the trottle purty good and 'float' the front end up & over the bump! Man, is that nice Gramps! Love them tires, specially the rears. Now I see's why ya aint gots no burnouts on yer dioramsa! When ya gonna smoke 'em??
-
Good idea Led, li'l over the top, but........reminds me of an incindent bout 6 years ago. I'd gottn PFAd outa my marriange, was back at the poleese station to get my guns back and had to go back outside to wait for the sarge or sumpin. There was this cherry lookin Chevelle sittin there. Couple cops come out to it, didn't see me and next thing I know the one is down on the ground with a quart of oil, pourin it on the groound underneath that cherry 396! Bout that time they both saw me, and looked like they was busted! They said they was pullin a trick on their buddie who owned the Chevvy. Nice guys! I do gotta admit, tha's a good one, long as he aint gots a weak heart!
-
You actully tried the chucked up slick? Gramps! yer gonna get as whacked out as me! ###### shame you gotta store that scene. Wonder if mebbe there's some place in yer neck of the woods that you could set it up where other kids (of all ages) could see it, with some of yer awesome rods - just not them pink'uns - and mebbe it'd get some of 'em interested in this great hobby of ours.
-
Doodz, BJ, awesome PS work there, both of you! I messed around in PS7 for awhile, but finally had to un-install it, coz of my addictive nature --I was literally livin in it doin artwork. Nice seein stuff done in there and havin an idea of how it was done. I'm tempted to re-install and do some 'bodywork', but I gots about 4, maybe 5, 'real' bodies that need my attention. Do carry on-- and Do post more!!
-
Hey Gramps, I was jest bein crazy ol' ######'n talkin bout chuckin a slick and doin a 'real' burnt out--heck, tha'd rip that tar paper right now! You ever done that, draggin the tire dipped in paint? sounds perfect! coz as the paint got scraped off the tire, it would put less paint down on the 'asphalt' kinda like how a real burnout fades away. As fer the the oil spots, I agree, acrylic'll work and it'd probly be the best, specially for me coz I tend to get just a little (well, OK.......a lot ) carried away. I was thinkin that ifn ya, or me, used some oil based paint, thinned out with turp or thinner, it would 'bleed' kinda like the 1:1 stuff, but doin that on tar paper, being a pertoleum porduct anyhow, it mike look like the Valdeez done beached there
-
Big Welcome! Dirk. I'd say sumpin bout ar english tooo, but I'm droollin so bad lookin at the Chevvlle of yourn I can hardly speak atall Got any detrails on that build? Specially the paint, love that red or orange, whatever itsi
-
I'm entranced! I aint goin nowheres! Can't wait to see that 6 and them WWs
-
me too, Mike, love the rust! looks soooo real, looks like ifn ya touched some o the pieces they'd just fall apart! That backboard (?) behind the cab - is that typical of the 1:1s? or did you come up widdit? I'm thinkin it looks like what they used to do back then, makin the transition from horse drawn carriages to the 'horsepowered' vehicles. Looks way cool, regardless. Excellent use of the VCR parts too
-
Lookin fine, Bernard. I always suspected you were an artist, and yer usin the monochromatic pix just confirms that! funny how color can somehow keep us from 'seeing' things at times. You always post such top notch posts! I'm willin to bet that ifn you taught model car building at some college, you'd get a lot of...........uh, never mind........I just realized - you'd get a lot of us attending. Wouldn't wanta do that to ya!
-
Well THANKS A LOT Jeryd! After seein what can be done with one of these kits, I'm gonna hafta go back to my LHS and buy it, like I shoulda done the last time I was there and kept goin, "Should I? Naah..... but then I'd at least have it. well,............ " Really, REALLY looks good. Them big meats stuffed in the rear are the kicker. Didju make the scoop or is it parts box?
-
Yeah Gramps! I'm with Mike Whathisname on the oily spots and burnout marks! Any idea how we can do dat? the burnouts I mean - other'n chuckin some ol slicks in the drill & layin down a couple strips, but then again if'n they aint gots posi, 'td only be one . If'n I come up wit somethin, I'll post it on CBs lot
-
Hey thanks Led! I actually thought of somethin similar, caulking, but didn't know ifn it came black. My only concern is that it comes out the tube close to 1/25 scale flow, ifn ya know what I mean. Mebbe ifn I heat the tube up and thin the sealant some, and put a smaller hole in the tip? Only problem is my OCD- -once I start dribblin tar on CBs lot, I probly won't stop
-
Hey thanx everbody fer the kindly words. Yeah, the scribin of the mortar lines on the lightweight poster board is monotonous and tiring, but well worth it. Bout the only other alternative would be to make a few thousand 1/25 cement blox and 'glue' em all tagether, and I did get so crosseyed I actually did consider that . Thank you Gramps! fer the idea o da pigeon poop! You musta put dat on George's gay-rage right before you shipped it coz we didnt see no pics o dat! Didncha leave George a note tellin him it warent real pigeron poopdoo? Hope he don't fall offn the roof & get banged up!
-
George! Did Gramps put pigeon poops on yo gay-rage?!
-
I think we just done freaked Gramps out toooooooo much George when he found out we was gonna show up wearing our EPA suits. Looks like he's got a fine young apprentice now, so I think yer right, we be un-employed (which am good, coz I likes being retired! )
-
######, Gramps! where ya been hidin this? gotta be pushin 40" square, huh? that tar paper looks like the way to go for asphalt. love how it kinda heaves up like the 1:1 stuff does. I'm gonna hafta use some o dat for CBs Autr Body, but some gravel too. Whatta ya think for tar to seal up cracks? mebbe just gloss black enamel (Testors, etc) layed down kinda like the 1:1 guys do? Really nice layout of Fat Boys down off'n the hard road & even a dirt road hookin up to it. Really shows off yer builds. You gotsa point Led, needs some peeps inside & outside. I haint seen mucha selection of 1/25 peeps, and I'm thinkin I probly gonna be carvin my own for CBs. and Gramps don't outdo hisself - he just dusts hisself off ever now & again. I'll bet that next year bout this time, he posts this here sucker with lights - inside Fat Boys, in lotsa them headlights or parky lights and mebbe even Fat Boy in a brandynew neon lighted sign (pink, of course! )
