  1. Thank you guys. You'll see that Vietnam Veteran plate on every one of my builds, Mike.
  2. I'll be spending Veterans Day in Washington, DC at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and don't know if I'll have access to a computer. Just in case, I wanted to say happy Veterans Day to all who have earned it. Brother and sister Veterans, WELCOME HOME. STAND TALL, BE PROUD, NEVER FORGET.
  3. My latest completion is painted in HOK kandy burgundy. In order to get those Pegasus wheels/tires under the rear fender, I had to make the inside of the wheel deeper. The hood sides are scratched. I spent quite a bit of time creating the interior.
  4. What are you gonna with pearls, Cranky? Those are for SHINY paint jobs, aren't they?
  5. Excellent tip. Thanks.
  6. Excellent build.
  7. I like that little truck. I tried to buy one cheap over the weekend because the kits had no seats. The guy wouldn't come down and I wouldn't go up. No sale.
  8. I use Photobucket, Peter and haven't had any issues other than the forum limit of 5 pics at a time.
  9. Looks SHINY :) Hertsi, but I can't tell what's what in the pics. To me it looks like wide BMF.
  10. You guys are doing those tricks with Photoshop? That looks like a very cool program. Could you use to make my builds look most excellent? I'll take any help I can get. I had to go back and look for the pets. The females threw me off. And the third time I saw the car.
  11. Outstanding, doc. I followed the build and am still amazed. Wonderful.
  12. I've always loved Effies. This one is going to be very cool.
  13. I like it, Rob.
  14. Looking fantastic, doc. However, it's Friday and you know what that means - pool (closed for the season), pizza, popcorn, and WWE Friday night Smackdown.
  15. Some nice work going on.
  16. Google it - I found it for $100.00
  17. Very nice - and SHINY :) Love the true flames.
  18. I have about 50 kits in the stash and have no problem spending whatever I want to spend on whatever I want. These days, money is not an issue with me.
  19. Continuing the process, After the inside corners have set up, I fit the top and tape it down. Turn the case upside down and caulk the top. As you can see, I made 9 cases (7 at 9 x 5, 1 at 17 x 5, 1 at 15 x 5). If they were all 9 x 5, there could have been about 10.5 cases for $35.00. That's less than $3.50 each. And here's a completed case that I applied diorama asphalt to the base. I forgot to mention that I try to leave as much of the covering on the plastic as possible. That way there's fewer fingermarks to clean afterwards.
  20. I promised to post a tutorial on the process I use to make display cases. So here it is. These are the materials I purchased at Lowe's for $35.00. Not shown is the 1" x 6" x 8' clear pine board. Make sure you use clear silicone. The board has been cut and an edge routed. Measure twice, cut once. I clamp a straight edge to a table to get nice straight cuts of 3 1/2" for the sides. I then use a square to cut the length. Tape the plastic together on the base and caulk the corners. Let set up for at least an hour.
  21. I gotta tell you Cranky - you are one sick puppy! But the build is gorgeous.
  22. Oh yeah. A really nice build. Flamed and SHINY :)

    1975 Corvette

I built my own spray booth using a bathroom exhaust fan. I never encountered a problem but got scared reading all the horror stories about explosions. I bought a Pace unit a couple of months ago and love it - and I'm not scared of exploding fumes anymore.
  24. Very nice and very SHINY :)
