  1. Looking most excellent, Tony.
  2. Hey Ian - congratulations! I've bookmarked your site for possible future use. Any suggestions for molding/casting Pegasus disc brakes? I tried a 2 part mold but can't get the resin in it. I'm going to try again and this time put in some registration points and a vent tube. I use Somooth-On products although I did buy some Aluminite clear & red dye for casting taillights. The lights came out okay until I introduced them to Wesley's - they came out with a white haze.
  3. I like the way you hinged the hood forward, Clay. I have a '56 Effie on the wrokbench and I need to try a hinge like yours.
  4. There's several threads about airbrushes and compressors on this forum, John. My personal preference is a Paasche H series, single action. Chicago Airbrush has pretty good prices and free shipping. I bought a Campbell-Hausfeld compressor at Lowe's (10% discount if you're a Veteran) for about $50 and it came with a nail gun and accessory bag of fittings. It's blue and has a 3 gallon tank on it. I was told you want a compressor that is able to store air. I built a spray booth from scrap plywood I had laying around and it uses a 12 x 24 furnace air filter. I'm using a bathroom exhaust fan in it and it's ducted outside.
  5. It's a wonderful thing to be a volunteer and not only a volunteer firefighter. Heck, you get to put in long hours with no pay. I shouldn't say that "no pay". The payment comes from people, individuals, who appreciate the work/services that volunteers perform. Terry, you should be proud of your local volunteer firefighters - they are heroes!
  6. That's one really sweet looking machine. Love the color and engine details.
  7. Looking real good.
  8. Gorgeous builds. Makes me want to go on a trip.
  9. Big 'ol fat nasty sidepipes gets my vote.
  10. Look very clean. Nice job. Certainly has a lot of BMF on it - they don't make them like that anymore.
  11. I believe I suggested a grey interior last week, Don. See, if you would have listened to me, you'd be almost done already.

Kick myself in the butt, Adam. But then I remembered that I have another '37 Chevy kit that I can make a mold from. Several different shifter boots have been molded and cast. They don't look too bad.
  13. FedEx dropped packages from TCP Global and Hobbylinc this afternoon. I can't open them yet because they're Christmas presents.
  14. Dr. Cranky - don't you ever sleep? The dio is looking excellent!
  15. I don't believe I've seen a set of wheels like that before, Jason. Where they from?
  16. Now that's a HOT rod! Whose paint and what color is that?
  17. The video is certainly a different approach. The Camaro looks really good too.
  18. Looking good.
  19. Practice, practice, practice. The tunnel ram looks good and I like the idea of blacked out chrome. Paint looks a bit light near the bottom and there's that dimple on the fender. How about a little sanding and another coat or 2?

Thanks fellas. I would paint the pin heads a color to match the interior. The boot molds should be set up so I'll try casting them later on.

The dash & panel are part of the '37 Chevy kit. I should have molded and casted the instrument cluster. And Neal, shifter boots are in the mold as we speak. Hopefully cast some tomorrow.
  22. Looks like you're on a roll, Ian. Keep going.
  23. I can't believe it!! You are THE MAN!!!

Thanks folks. Neal, the shifter is a one piece out deal of the parts bin. I just painted the shifter knob red and the boot part semi-gloss black. One of my plans is to cast a shifter boot, drill it and glue a piece of wire and use several layers of Krystal Klear to make the shifter knob. Or maybe save some time and use those pins with the colored knob already there.
  25. Sorry Cranky, I have no idea how to do it but thought it might be a good addition. Who can resist lighting them up on a nice piece of concrete? I don't don't even know what's used at the tracks anymore. Last I knew it was bleach but Pinks seems to use plain old water in the burnout box. I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something that look just fantastic.
