  1. YEAH!!!! I was getting very worried yesterday. What would I do if I couldn't get to the forum every day? Sure am glad you're back today.
  2. Glad to see you here, Jim. Best model forum around. How about posting additional pics of those builds? They all look very good.
  3. I tried to answer you last night Eelco but something wierd was going on with the forum. I looked but I don't have spare glass for the Deora. Sorry.
  4. I was going to use the yellow body as the front of the car hauler so I'll need the glass for it. I have to look to see if I have the glass for the older version. Sorry for the confusion. I did write myself a note to look tomorrow when I'm out in the shop.
  5. Not too shabby! That color will sure stop traffic. Nice build.
  6. Eelco, I know I have the glass for the newer version (yellow plastic) but am not sure about glass for the older, beat up body. I'll have to look. Please remind me a in few days in case I forget.
  7. Thanks Larry. I like the Rubbermaid idea. Strong & light. I was thinking wrapping the builds with the bubble wrap stuff. Maybe Saran Wrap first to keep any stray parts together. I guess I should plan on bringing some glue and other items for on the spot repairs.
  8. Interesting Eelco. But then your builds usually are. I have a couple of Deoras sitting around that are screaming to be built as a car hauler.
  9. I have only one Black Widow kit and it's still sealed. There's other kits waiting before it that need to be completed - mile high Dodge D50, '68 Dodge Dart hemi, '55 Ford pickup, and a track nose T roadster.
  10. It must be work on old Ford pick up time. I did a forward hood flip on my '55 like you Clay and it'll wind up candy root beer. I like how you sectioned yours Stasch. Look like lotsa work going in the build and it looks good.
  11. I'm planning to attend and display a few builds at JaxCon 2011 (IPMS, Jacksonville, FL, February 5, 2011. I haven't done a show in about 30 years and was just wondering what people do for packing their builds for a show. I'll be driving to/from the show.
  12. I've ordered from Hobbylinc several times. I would advise you to be careful. Their website might say "in stock" but a message in your confirmation might say backordered. Before I palce an order with them online, I call to make sure an item is really in stock. Their prices and shipping are fair and they have lots of kits.
  13. I'm not much of a diorama person, but yours is going to be HUGE!! Have you looked in the diorama section? Industrial photo op and 2 car garage are being built.
  14. Sorry to hear about your friend, Wayne.
  15. I don't go to any other modeling sites.
  16. Clay, I've read about BMF before painting but forget the process. Do you lay a piece of BMF over the letters and cut around the letters before painting and then rub the paint off the letters afterward? Or do you just paint over a strip of BMF and just polish the letters?
  17. Pretty nice weathering you've done. I like the '40 very much.
  18. Welcome, Andy. Plenty of good stuff here. Don't forget to check the tips section. Lots of good info there.
  19. I'm really liking the details of the engine bay. The whole car looks terrific.
  20. Got the D50 up on all 4 and the engine in. I took Ma's Resin beadlock wheels and drilled out the spaces. After some Plast-i-cote grey primer and Testor's gloss enamel, I wiped on a coat of the HW Japan ginsing stuff for a polished look. Then I painted the inside of the rims light blue and added air valves. The headers are .062 solder with Evergreen collectors covered with BMF. I used an X-acto knife to thin the walls of the Evergreen tubing. The body is painted, glass installed, and almost ready for the under glass section.
  21. I would have thought superglue dried too fast to be able to mix it with baby powder or anything, but I guess not. Or do you use some kind of retarder in the superglue?
  22. I have some chain from my stained glass projects. It's twisted chain and not the straight loop stuff like in those pics. I might have a foot or 2 of the straight loop stuff if you want it. Have a safe trip.
  23. You guys are too much! Where's Earl?
  24. Terrific build. I love the color.
